Annabel and James have started swimming lessons again for the summer. It’s interesting to look back at Annabel’s swimming skills when she was three. James has absolutely no fear, but Annabel was pretty brave back then, too. She was so stinking cute!

There were three near-drowning victims brought into our town’s hospital this weekend. THREE! One age 5, one was 3, and the other just 1 year old. Not a good way to start the summer! Thankfully all of these little ones survived and will hopefully have no neurological problems. This video just reminds me of how important swimming lessons are for our little ones. That, and to never let your guard down around water. Even if they are “good” swimmers, they always need to be watched. We just put a pool in our backyard and it has been a blast, but I’m a bit neurotic now, just so you know. We had tall wrought iron gates put up on every opening to the pool, all with three separate locks on them. There’s no way any young child (or even an adult without a key) can get to that pool.
