Other than a trip to visit my aunt and uncle in Palm Desert, we don’t have any trips planned for the summer. It will be nice to stay local, although I looked through my collection of pictures and videos from our trip to Hawaii last summer and definitely feel some pangs…but who wouldn’t? It’s Hawaii. This video of James at the beach in Maui also has me wistful for younger James. He was just as crazy, but he didn’t weigh as much.

We’ll definitely hit up our local beach this summer, and it will be interesting to see if he still runs sand into the ocean.

The ocean…sigh.

“Happy!” So sweet! My son is exactly (May 30th!) one year younger than James, and this was a great reminder to keep soaking up his littleness, thank you.
Glenda says:
Yes! I’m up for Hawaii anytime. Have a great weekend!

I was just in Hawaii. Mike’s post about shave ice actually put me on a mission to find some of that, only I was on Oahu and not Maui, so I had to shop around. Island Vintage Shave Ice had the best shave ice out of what I tried. They served it on incredibly instagrammable bamboo plates and…
Er, uh, I mean, yeah! The local beaches are pretty swell! Someone needs to open a Mainland Vintage Shave Ice there, though.
