School starts next week, and Annabel is all over the place with excitement. Because of this, keeping her busy has been extra-challenging. I thought making these necklaces would help her build her sewing skills (we’ve been working on her hand-sewing) while coming with the added bonus of entertaining her for an hour or so. And, the end product is very “little kid cute!”
Craft pom-poms
Embroidery floss
Plastic needle
Large craft beads
Scissors
Start by cutting a length of embroidery floss. Annabel and I started with 36-inch long string, then trimmed what we didn’t use. Thread the plastic needle.
Pom-poms all have a “center” that’s easy to push a plastic needle through.
Once you find the center, push the needle through the pom-pom.
Continue threading pom-poms until you are done with the necklace.
We tied our ends around craft beads to add a little pizzaz to the back of the necklace, plus it keeps the pom-poms from coming off the embroidery floss.
Annabel loooved making necklaces. It was the perfect way to keep her entertained and help her hand-eye coordination.
She made a bunch of necklaces for herself and her friends!
The longer length allows for a cute bow in the back.
I have a feeling we’ll be making a lot of these over the next week!

Lord what a cutie! Look at all that HAIR! I admire you for keeping up with all of it. My mom chopped ours off to avoid prolonged screaming (she had 2 curly girls and one straight lady with a tender head). Good luck with school starting!
