We are enjoying the long Martin Luther King weekend! Yesterday we went to an awesome indoor/outdoor play place where Annabel got to rock climb, then I took Mike and the kids to a new spot that makes its own ice cream with liquid nitrogen. Today the kids are seeing Norm of the North with their cousins, and tomorrow we’re getting everything ready for Annabel’s rock star birthday party. Busy days, but fun. Still trying to wrap my head around Annabel turning SIX on Friday!
She used to be afraid of heights, so to see her climb this high was a big deal. So proud of her!

Rockin’ Party
~Annabel’s party on Saturday is going to be really fun. She picked out a “rock star” costume on Amazon as an early birthday present (it’s so 80s, it makes me laugh), and she asked for crafts, so the girls will be decorating plastic microphones and cardboard guitars. We hired a cool female DJ who is going to teach the girls different dance steps. I’m having fun planning the decor – lots of records and concert posters…although I’m sure the 6-10 year olds will have NO idea what the records are!
Happy Sunday, everyone!

Lauren says:
How’d Annabel like Norm of the North. I was going to take my 5 1/2 year old tomorrow but after reading the horrible reviews – I’m not so sure…
Jessica says:
Thank you for bringing attention to the water crisis in Flint, Michigan!
LK says:
I’m actually from Flint. Thankfully, I am now in the city next door so my water is from Detroit. I work in a Flint hospital and we have spent THOUSANDS on bottled water. So sad and scary what these people are going through.
Glenda says:
Can’t wait to see Annie’s birthday pictures. It’s amazing all the fun crafts you come up with. I read the article of the two wives pregnant. Interesting read.
Jordan says:
the refugee article reminds me of a poem I had to read for my Holocaust Lit class. Refugees Blues by WH Auden. It’s about the Holocaust, but I kept thinking back to today’s refugee crisis while reading. It’s chilling.
Happy birthday week to Annabel!
