I am again so thankful for all the love and support everyone has shown my family this week. I am still trying to fight back this illness, which is throwing a million gross symptoms at me (I woke up this morning with infected, swollen eyes). It’s been raining the last few days, which has matched my mood. It’s been nice to cuddle up with the kids and listen to the rain. The sun will be shining again soon.

How To Deal With All The Feels
~I’ve been working on a playlist for YouTube Kids for the last month all about kids dealing with and understanding their feelings. It’s kind of ironic considering the emotions our family has experienced in the last two weeks, but it’s come in handy and we’ve watched this playlist several times. Hopefully it will help your kids, too (and you should definitely download the app if you haven’t already, it’s fantastic!)!
Current Obsessions
~I love this curl shampoo and conditioner for Annabel. Even though she doesn’t have massive curls anymore, her hair still has curly texture. I even like it for myself because it doesn’t have Parabens, Sulfates, or Phthalates, so it’s good for my color. Plus it smells good!
~We were sent this cool organic mushroom farm kit, and Annabel is so excited to use it. I am hoping it will make her actually try mushrooms!
~I’m still on a delicate jewelry kick, so I am loving all of Katie Dean’s Jewelry. Great for Mother’s Day!
Mischief Managed
~A few weeks ago, we got to go to a special preview of the new Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios Hollywood. Annabel is very into the movies, and I’m a huge fan of the books, so I knew we’d have a blast. Mike and I each wrote it up for our respective companies (my guide is here, Mike’s post is here). The land is so well-done, and we all had fun – even Mike, who never got into the series, and James, who is now a big “Harry Powder” fan.
One of my favorite pictures of James ever…it cracks me up!
Marching On
~And here’s your friendly reminder to support our March for Babies team. The march is in three weeks!!
Happy Sunday, everyone.

the “it’s time to thank your first roommate” article has been floating around my FB (since I’m graduating in like 25 days holy crap). The irony is that none of my favorite memories from my first year included my roommate or my suitmates (we were VERY different in our approach to college), and my roommate ended up deleting me off facebook. LOL. I don’t think I did anything to offend her, but who knows?! We didn’t hate each other or anything, we just didn’t “fit” together. We didn’t stay friends after our first year, obvs. After having the roommate from hell the 1st half of sophomore year, I’ve stayed roommate-free. Best life choice in college ever!
I’m not so sure how I feel about the female uber thing– I don’t think creating a whole new app just for women is the answer. I’ve used uber a handful of times, esp when in Chicago, and never had any issues. We need a culture shift, not separation.
Love the wine photo article– I don’t drink often, but alcohol has truly had any effect on me other than making me verrrry sleepy.
Have you started reading HP with Annabel yet?! I want to go to one of the HP worlds sooo bad.
Love you all. Hope the sunshine returns soon. xoxo
Jordan says:
that should say alcohol has truly NEVER had any effect on me. Whoops.
Also, I didn’t realize the article about the ovarian cancer side effects was by the same person that wrote the “Are you there God it’s me Margit” article you shared last year. So sad. I didn’t know!!
Jerilynn says:
I’ve been thinking of you all weekend, Heather. Please go to the doctor for your eye infection issue if you’ve not already done so (conjunctivitis?). Hoping that this week will allow you some time to rest and recuperate both mentally and physically and that the days ahead are literally and figuratively brighter.
Heather says:
Oh, thank you Jerilynn. I did go to the doctor, and I have conjunctivitis, plus a sinus infection and bronchitis. Triple whammy!
Jerilynn says:
Oh my goodness-I am so sorry. You must feel like a train hit you. Sinus infections alone are the worst, never mind everything else. Are you taking Mucinex? That might help with the pressure and congestion. I wish I didn’t live 3,000 miles away and could be of help to you. Please feel better! Ugh.
Jackson says:
Could you tell me where you get the curl shampoo and conditioner. Thank you.
Heather says:
I order it on Amazon! http://amzn.to/1qBYeH1
Gen says:
omg that photo of little James Potter!! Hilarious.
Jessica Makuh says:
Great photo of James!
