I’m always happy when I hear that all of you like my Sunday posts. I come across a lot of articles and funny things I want to share all week, so many in fact that I’ve started sharing a few links every day on my Facebook Page. It’s a little taste of Surfing Sunday the other six days of the week!
Around The ‘Net
~Stressed, Tired, Rushed: A Portrait of the Modern Family
~Adele: Inside Her Private Life and Triumphant Return
~The Baffling, Gruesome Plague That Is Causing Sea Stars to Tear Themselves to Pieces
~The true story behind ‘Zola,’ the epic Twitter story too crazy to be real
~Humans of New York and the Cavalier Consumption of Others
~More than a decade after release, they all come back
~The Condolences End. Being A Widow Doesn’t. The same could be said for others who are suffering losses (in fact, I have made several of the analogies this writer uses)
~The slowed-down Chipmunks are both brilliant and terrifying
Seeing Red
I really can’t believe that people are ACTUALLY mad about the Red Ombre Starbucks Cups this year. Removing snowflakes/snowmen/ice skates/etc (which aren’t exactly Christian symbols) doesn’t mean Starbucks hates Christmas…especially since, you know, they still sell a Christmas Blend, Advent Calendars, and have gift cards that say Merry Christmas on them. This is a PAPER CUP that you THROW IN THE GARBAGE when you’re done with it. There are, and this is just an estimation, about a million other things more important to get worked up about. Like right now, James is waging a protest against Mike and me because we won’t let him play with a salt shaker. I’m sure he’d welcome some outside support.
These Boots Are Made For Walking
~Annabel is absolutely obsessed with these ugg-like boots at Old Navy. This is her second year with them! And they’re only $10 right now.
~Earlier this year I bought some Hunter Boots when they were on sale…if that El Nino actually hits Southern California, I will be all set (they definitely require boot socks, though).
~I thought about dipping my toe into the Bootie waters, but I am way too overwhelmed by all the choices.
And Also….
~I am looking for a good way to organize my makeup, and would love recommendations!
Happy Sunday, everyone!

Glenda says:
Annie is a cutie!
People waste so much energy on nonsense… seriously… a red starbucks cup?! They need to Get a life!
Kristen G. says:
Hmm get a Ca boodles for your makeup. I’d loved mine. lol
Shea says:
Umm, I think you’re forgetting the part where the three snowmen on ice skates bring gifts to the baby Jesus…
Heather says:
LOL!!
lisabella says:
Make sure to throw that cup in recycling (if you can)!
Jody M says:
I’ve been thinking about getting this makeup organizer:

Heather says:
Oooh, the space for the brushes is really nice!
Danielle says:
I love all the articles that you find! I think I’m jealous of Annie’s boots though. To be honest, I’m jealous of a lot of her wardrobe! She’s probably taller than me too
The Starbucks cup thing is so ridiculous I’m not even going to comment on it. Except that it must be nice to have that be your only problem in life. How did the salt shaker dispute end? #Team James!
Mary says:
First off — I went and bought the boots for my girls. We live in Maryland so should have some use for them this year. Yeah!
Second, go here and get this for your makeup. Best way to organize ever:

If you can’t open the link because I’m awful at linking things, go to qvc.com and put this item number in the search engine: H165015
Heather says:
Wow, that is really nice! I love the swing-out compartments!
Holly says:
It’s expensive, but the “Glambox” is on my list for a make-up organizer I want. I like that it has drawers but is translucent so I can see my make up. For now, I use a fancy acrylic mirrored tray and I bought a couple of cute decorative glasses from anthropologie to store my brushes in. I like that my make up is layed out for me on the tray for easy access.
Lanie says:
Earlier this week I read “The Condolences End. Being A Widow Doesn’t.” – I am glad that you came across it too. It definitely mirrored some of the feelings of loss that I had/have. xo
Katrina says:
I don’t have a lot of space so I have this on my counter top. I thought I could keep the brushes in a drawer but ran out of room. I keep a small decorative cup or candle holder for brushes.

Rachel says:
The Bong Next Door- that whole article is talking about my neighborhood! That is hilarious and amazing. Now I feel like I’m in the minority for NOT smoking pot.
