Oh my goodness, this week has been a whirlwind! The book release on Tuesday and all the interviews, etc, around it were a total trip. I’m really glad I get to share all the craziness with Mike! Last night was our release party, so I’m actually writing this one in advance because I know I’m going to be EXHAUSTED (edited to add: OMG I AM). Thank you all so much for all of your support! And for those of you who signed up for a book-plate, Annabel has been creating original works of art on each one! We’ll have them in the mail in the next week or two.
Also edited to add: dropping in this picture from the party!!

Cool Things
~I told Annabel she isn’t getting a new backpack this year. The backpack she used last year is in great condition and I just don’t see the point in spending money on a new one when the one she has is fine! Unsurprisingly, this did not go over well with Annabel. “How will I show everyone my vibe for this year without a new backpack!” she shouted dramatically. So we made a deal. I am going to let her use a plain black backpack of mine, and she picked out a bunch of patches that we’ll sew onto it to personalize it. She picked out a glittery letter A, a softball, a tiny dog in a purse (lol), and then a multi pack of patches with a bunch of designs. Cheaper than a new backpack, and it will definitely show off “her vibe.” Oy.
~I treated myself to this delicate gold bar ring because I wanted it and I’m a grown up who makes her own decisions.
~OMG this chair. Heart eyes emoji! I want it for my office.

lol – not often often, but every now and then I play that “because I’m an adult and I can do whatever I want” card with myself as well. And when I do – it feels fabulous!
Allie says:
Sometimes I’m jealous of all the cool things that James and Annabel get to do because I am a normal person who had a normal childhood (well I live near a Disney park but so do your kids and they get that AND book release parties, huge birthday parties, meeting their idols, etc.) I just want to say you’re a really good mom. And not just because you’re so cool.
