I’m writing this in advance because this weekend, Mike and I are in Las Vegas. It’s our first no-kids getaway since…um…gosh…maybe two-and-a-half years? Anyway, we are looking forward to spending time together, AND we are finally seeing Britney Spears! Mike gave me tickets to see her show for Christmas eight months ago so I’ve been looking forward to this weekend for months. I spent some birthday gift certificates on my concert outfit: I bought this fun skirt (it was missing a few sequin/mirror things so it was 60% off, and then I just replaced them myself) and this top (also on sale). I can’t wait!

You may have to subtitle for me (and others) because I think I heard Annie say 29 kids named Isabella ?!?
At least for now you are still the boss…
Heather says:
You’re right, that’s what she said! LOL

Oh my gosh! Annie was the star of that buzzfeed video! Love it.

Maternity leave in the US truly does suck! I am amazed that some moms in the article listed only managed to spend 5 weeks at home with their newborn!
In South Africa you are not permitted by law to return to work before 6 weeks post-partum. Companies are also required to keep your position for you for 6 months should you choose to stay away that long. Most moms here take 4 months, since that is the time that you may claim Unemployment Insurance for, should your company not pay you during your maternity leave. Most companies, especially the bigger corporations, do however pay at least part of your maternity leave. For example, I received 75% of my salary for 3 months after my baby was born in November last year, with the 4th month being unpaid. Some companies even pay fully for all 4 months.

OMG! What a wonderful personality and imagination Annie has….I so enjoyed the video. Gave me a laugh to start my week!!
Emily says:
You better start saving for that elephant ride into Annie’s wedding! And 29 grandchildren to spoil! lol!
Giselle says:
Annie was awesome! The other kids are all about the hard stuff (work, getting hired, fired, run a business..) While Annie focused on the most important perks (eating ice cream EVERY morning if that’s what you want AND bossing everyone around, including her mom)! Lol
She was awesome.
And on the maternity leave, I kid you not, my friend works for a law firm in Florida and they give TWO WEEKS. Period. If you want to take longer than that, go ahead, but don’t bother coming back. She has coworkers that have had children and had to come back after two weeks. Even the ones that had a c section! I am appalled and think that’s borderline abusive.
Amy D. says:
Bahahaha, “I’d boss people around like my mom!” hope she got all the ice cream she’ll never stop eating for that one!
Katie says:
I’m with Annie- ice cream every morning. Right on, girlfriend!
Karen from Chookooloonks says:
Thanks for the kind shout-out, friend.
