The March for Babies is just six days away, on April 30. I’ve been working on my speech the last few days and I can’t shake this feeling of intense gratitude. I would not be speaking at the Los Angeles March next week if it wasn’t for all of you. When Maddie died, the outpouring of love and donations to March of Dimes could not be ignored by ANYONE. Because of you, we’ve been able to draw attention to prematurity and families living with loss. Because of the money you all have donated to our team, we’ve helped other families avoid the life that Mike and I live every day. Because of all of you, next week I get to stand up in front of 20,000 people and tell them about Maddie. I am so amazingly honored and thankful for the opportunities you all have given me.
If you want to walk with our team (either in person or in spirit), there is still time to join! Just click through to my page and hit the “walk with me” button. And if you want to donate to our team, I would be incredibly grateful. Every donation helps, no matter the amount.

Welcome To The Jungle
~We took the kids to see The Jungle Book yesterday and we all enjoyed it very much. The film is absolutely gorgeous. The voice actors were great, but the little boy who plays Mowgli, Neel Sethi, is fantastic! Plus, he’s so damn cute I could just eat him up. I think they did a great job translating the original animated movie into live action. Annabel and James both said, “Can we watch it again?!” when the lights came up, which is very high praise.
I hope you all have a wonderful week. Thank you again, for everything.
Happy Sunday, everyone!

The article about Georgetown… Slavery existed and now someone wants to know what we pay their descendants? Once again, someone disturbs the past as if reparations will change that and the present situation. It will not. Just like the conservatives stirring the pot on transgender bathrooms when things were fine as far as I see it, I find this to be absurd and not acceptable. That would have been a fight for the people then. I despise trying to change outcomes that have already happened.
And this will open another Pandora’s box. Pretty soon, we’ll be doing something for the offspring’s offspring’s offspring for the survivors of 9/11. So, at what point do we end it? And what does it actually accomplish?
Heather says:
I don’t mean this condescendingly, but did you read the article? Because it’s not about paying the descendants money, so I am confused by your comment.
Lindsay says:
DefendUSA, I highly recommend giving the book “Waking Up White” a read. It answers quite eloquently why reparations are in order.

Heather, your speech will be amazing and we are all grateful to be part of your journey and to learn from you, as I always say. You have done so much for this cause and to support families with loss. You’re a true hero! I will be wearing purple the day of your speech.
Mandy says:
I’m glad to hear your kids liked “The Jungle Book”. We’ve been on the fence…we saw the previews and both of my girls (3 and 5) thought it looked scary…
Lisa says:
We know one of the musicians that worked on it. Excited to go watch and listen. Donation will be on way after thursday (pay day). Of course I want to send financial support along with emotional support.

I wish I was in LA on Saturday to hear you speak and walk with you. I will be walking in the March of Dimes walk in Atlanta and thinking about your sweet Maddie. Thank you and Mike for all you do. xo
