I can’t believe today is the last day of November. *Insert clichés about how fast the year has flown by here.* Today we’re putting up all of our Christmas decorations, and I have it on good authority that our Elf on the Shelf, Georgie, will be returning tonight. It’s the holiday season, woo hoo!

About That Elf
~We do Elf on the Shelf every year, but we keep it simple by just moving it around the house. I LOVE seeing the elaborate situations people put their elves into, but that’s not something I personally do (plus James would tear it UP). I set an alarm on my phone that goes off at 10:35 pm every night to remind me to move the elf, which is the key to our elf success!
Holiday Shopping
~I never go shopping in stores on Black Friday – I do not have the patience to deal with those crowds. I do shop online on Black Friday and Cyber Monday and that’s saved me a ton of money. This is an expensive time of year for us because on top of Christmas, Mike’s birthday is next week and Annie’s is in January, so those savings are key! These are the Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals I’m using, if you’re interested!

Now that Thanksgiving is behind us, James has been using the super-cute Tommee Tippee Gingerbread collection.
The bottles and pacifier are so cute, I almost wish James used them! I thought it would be fun to do another giveaway of this cute collection, (which you can also buy at Babies R Us). Just click on the giveaway widget below to enter! Contest ends on Wednesday, December 3rd at 11am. Open to residents of the US and Canada. Winner will be chosen at random.
Happy Sunday, everyone!

Dax and Kristin are SO flipping cute. I listened to her Text Me Merry Christmas carol w/ Straight No Chaser, and laughed my head off. So flipping funny.
Elf on the Shelf was not around when I was little, and I don’t have any younger kiddos in my immediate family, so I’ve never gotten the point. Though some of the ideas are hilarious.
My bestie and I shopped on Friday, but not til mid-afternoon. I decided sleep was much more important than deals. I did get a couple of DVDs on sale at Target (The Fault In Our Stars AND Silver Linings Playbook for less than 20 bucks-I’ll take it!) Also got some craft stuff at JoAnn’s to make some presents.
Alright, now I REALLY need to pick the Hunger Games up again. That song is so chillingly beautiful. Never knew JLaw could sing! Wow! Reminded me a bit of Zooey Deschanel’s singing voice.
Steph says:
Thank you for the link to the picture of the Ferguson police officer hugging the sweet, teary-eyed boy. It is beautiful!
Lisa says:
aargh. Crying over sky lantern blog.

THANK YOU SO MUCH for the Mockingjay article! I saw the movie on Thanksgiving and looveed that song and needed to know more info! Now, if you can tell me who sang the ending credits, i will love you forever. I guess I COULD just google it, but still…
Heather says:
Oh, I know that one – Lorde sings it!
