Ooooohhhhweeeee what a few weeks we’ve hard around here. All good things, though! Lots of softball, a bachelorette party for one of my dearest friends, and we celebrated little Harper’s first birthday. Mike and I also have something fun to announce: we have another book coming out! A Whole Lotta Knock-Knock Jokes: Squeaky Clean Family Fun will be released on November 26th, but is available for pre-order now on Amazon. Yes, Mike actually agreed to write another book with me! We spent several weeks creating and collecting jokes and riddles and testing them on our family and friends. I also learned something very important about myself: I was born to write knock-knock jokes. I had so much fun coming up with new puns. Annie even came up with a few jokes that made it in the book! Punning runs in the family.

~With the promises of multiple power-outages in our future, I went about making some preparations. In talking with some of my local friends, we all realized that we needed to get a non-electric landline telephone. After going to two stores and being told “we don’t carry those,” I ordered one off Amazon. It gives me one less thing to worry about in the event we’re hit with any days-long blackouts.
~I know this is supposed to be for a cat, but I’m pretty confident it would entertain both of my children for hours LOL.

I’ve always kept a corded phone just for that reason in my hall closet. It is now 25 yrs old, but still works great when I need to use it. (I also live in Southern California). Was funny when I had to explain to my 14 yr old how it works!

My cat would destroy that Mousr thing! She doesn’t just go after the feather toy, she goes after the hand that holds it. That car would be dust! LOL
She is currently stalking a squirrel thru the bedroom window! If she could push through the screen, she would!
But, she would also love the blanket as much as my nieces would! Last night I wore a velvet scarf to their house & my 2 year old niece said, “I wuv your blankie, Auntie M!” Ha!

We recently transplanted to Newtown, CT and my oldest is in the same grade as the class that was brutally murdered in their 1st grade classrooms. The town has been incredibly proactive with that group of kids: The Sandy Hook students have all been in counseling and therapy (the town has a family counseling center that is free of charge—for anyone, not just victims). They also have a social worker on staff with the school district specifically for that group of kids (not to mention people available for those who were in the school but not in the grade). I wonder if there will be a marked difference between those students and those from Parkland? (All of that was in response to the one article…hope it’s wasn’t the P.O. random!)

The book cover reminds me of Bazooka gum wrapper (the colors) and I looooove Bakooka gum! Congratulations and look forward to purchasing and using your knock, knock jokes!!!

Those blankets look great! I don’t care how many blankets I have, I will always be excited by the gift of coziness!
