I hope you all had a wonderful Mother’s Day. Mike and the kids woke me up with breakfast in bed, handmade cards, and lots of love and snuggles. We FaceTimed Mike’s mom up in the Bay Area and we had a socially-distant lunch with my mom in my parents’ yard. Not a typical Mother’s Day, but it was still nice to get to see my mom and get so much love from Annie and James. Annie even made a cake from scratch, including the icing! Mother’s Day is always a hard day for me, but with everything going on right now it was nice to have a day where I could hug and squeeze my kids as much as I wanted and they couldn’t complain.

Hair-Raising
Mike finally reached the breaking point with his quarantine beard. After eight weeks he said he “couldn’t stand it” anymore and shaved it off. He and the kids had fun shaving it off in stages to create different looks.

~James’ birthday is less than two weeks away, so I’ve been on the hunt for gifts for him! This shirt is perfect for him and his game-playing ways.
~He specifically asked for these “body bumpers,” which ought to be hilarious to watch.
~We’ve been thinking about maybe getting a trampoline like this one…if anyone has trampoline advice, I’d love to hear it!

2 people on my street have put that, or a very similar, trampoline up in the last week. For one family it was their second one. The first was blown away in a storm the week before.

First off, your husband’s beard actually suits him and looked amazing and then became quite hilarious in the process of going bye-bye!
Second, your son is my kind of kid – I would totally follow him around with the bumper!! My sister-in-law owned a trampoline similar to the one you are interested in purchasing. Her girls loved it and whenever I came over, I enjoyed it as well!!

Incidentally we actually bought a small personal trampoline before all of this started. It has been a LIFESAVER to have in the house with our 3 year old. We also use it to gently bounce our baby to sleep, although he has been going to sleep by himself. The best thing about he trampoline is that it uses bungees NOT springs so it is silent. I can work out on it while the baby sleeps.
My sister, who lives in Mexico City, has the same one you linked to and it has been great for them too. They have a large indoor space they have it set up in as the rainy season is starting. I highly recommend one.

I would say get the biggest trampoline you have room for especially with 2 kids. We have a 15ft one with enclosure.

Not to be a spoil sport, but….my advice for a trampoline is to NOT get one…they are extremely dangerous, and I know those that have one will argue with me, and that’s okay….the problem is, is that if/when a injury occurs there’s a good chance that it will be a life long injury…example is the former Mayor of Shreveport, LA suffered permanent paralysis playing with a daughter on one…I would not willingly take a chance on one…plus all homeowners insurance companies, that I am aware of, and I’ve been an insurance agent for almost 40 years, will cancel your policy if they know you have a trampoline due the liability aspect of it…I know, I’m a party pooper!!! TOO DANGEROUS!!!!!

We’ve had our trampoline for nearly 10 years and we purchased it from AJ Landmark Trampolines. We just had to replace our first pad around the trampoline this past year. We have a 14 foot trampoline without a net. From my understanding, kids can get a little too comfortable with a net and tend to become more daring. I think enclosure or not is a personal comfort level for parents, you know your kids best and what they need. Knock on wood we haven’t had any serious accidents.
