The regular softball season has ended. I just loved the girls I had on my team this year. They were all so sweet and funny, and they got along with each other SO well. You never know what you’re going to get with a bunch of seven and eight-year-olds, but this group was great. I’m going to miss them! But there’s no rest, as Annie was selected to an all-star team and the games start in just two weeks! I’m proud of this kid and her hard work, and can’t wait to see what she accomplishes in all-stars.

Infinity War
Mike took the kids to see Avengers: Infinity War last weekend. James had been SO EXCITED to see it, and Mike said he was downright gleeful during the entire movie. The three of them all loved it (even the twist ending, which they’ve been acting out all week). So for those of you who are wondering if it’s too scary to take kids to, my kids were fine (after all, it IS a Disney movie). The only thing that scared James was the preview for Jurassic Park before the movie started!
Growing Up
I’m seriously having a hard time wrapping my head around James turning FIVE at the end of the month! The day before his birthday he has his Kindergarten assessment, and then he has his pre-k “graduation” on the morning of his birthday! That’s a lot of growing up in just two days.
Fun Things
~I’m tempted to get this for James, except why would I do that to myself? LOL
~James’ current fascination is the Titanic, so I ordered him this kid-friendly book for his birthday.
~I found this awesome series of books for girls who love sports (and of course I ordered the softball one for my girl).
Happy Sunday, everyone!

Weird question, but does your team wear infield face masks? Here on the East coast that is the trend for ages 7 and up (and a requirement in our league) and I just wonder if you guys are following or bucking that trend… Thanks!
Heather says:
YES! Our league doesn’t require them, but a lot of the surrounding leagues do. But I’d say about half the girls wear them, especially the pitchers.

Hi Heather, I have followed your family since Madeline was born. I have 2 grown miro preemies and have always had an interest in how your family was doing. I have commented a few times in the last 13 years. My second preemie is now 30 years old and is fighting stage 4 cancer. He is cognitively around a 12 year old level and is a wonderful young man. HIs dream is to go to Hollywood. He loves everything celebrity related. Well we finally are planning our trip and will be there May 19th – May 28 and then heading to San Francisco for a couple days. We are bring the whole family which includes my other son his wife and 1 year old. I was looking up things to do with a baby (most tours don’t allow a 1 year old) and your face popped up.(Mommy Nearest) I smiled so big because I felt like you were a friend. I use to check on your family every day. I prayed like crazy for you all. I cannot believe Annie and James are so old. For the last couple of years I have been pretty busy with Zach so I haven’t been checking in too much. You are all doing so well! Your family makes me smile!
Heather says:
Oh Sue, you’re so sweet! Thank you so much, that makes ME smile so big. I’m so devastated to hear about your son’s cancer. I hope you have a wonderful trip and if you have any questions about LA or things to do, PLEASE let me know!
