In case you missed my previous mentions, my cousin Leah is pregnant! She and her husband, Ted, are expecting a baby boy in March. We are all SO excited. I am soooo done having kids, but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t sometimes think about what it would be like to have another little bundle around. Now I get to find out, but without any of the barfing, sleepless nights, or nipple pain. YAY! PLUS I GET TO THROW HER A BABY SHOWER DOUBLE YAY!!

Over the weekend, Leah and Ted invited us to come to their 3D ultrasound so we could see Baby Boy. Annabel was BESIDE herself. If you think I’m excited about this baby, you should see her. She asked me to download a “what to expect” app onto her iPod, and she watches every video about gestation she can find on YouTube Kids. When I said to her, “Do you want to go to a special appointment to see Leah’s baby?” she replied, “Oh my gosh, we can go to her ultrasound?” Girl knows what’s what.

The 3D ultrasound was at the same place we saw Annabel all those years ago. It’s so interesting to look back at those images now. I definitely see some of how Annabel looked when she was born, but I actually think the images look more like James! Genetics are crazy.

Leah had a packed room for her ultrasound – uncle, aunts, cousins, friends – this baby is so loved already. We were all joking around, but Annie was completely serious and focused.

Then up on the big projection screen, the first image of the baby popped up:

And Annabel was like:

She could not even.

When the images changed to 3D, we were treated with the cutest little baby face:

Meanwhile, Annabel could barely keep it together. “HE’S SO CUUUUUTE! OHMYGOOOOOOSSSSH! LOOK AT THE BABY I LOVE HIM OH MY GOOOOOSSSSHHHH!” No chill at all. Leah and Ted said that the entire ultrasound was worth it just to hear Annabel’s reaction. She’s going to be a great big cousin to this little guy.

From the looks of it, he’s already amused by her:

I can’t wait to meet that little guy in a few more months!
