We just got back from our quick trip to Arizona. The drive home took MUCH longer than anticipated…thanks to vomit. We had a kid vomiting on the trip to Arizona, and a kid vomiting on the trip back to California. I can’t even talk about it. I’ve seen things, man.
We managed to pack a lot into our short time, and I’ll get into some stories tomorrow, like James fearlessly jumping into the pool:
Or how I caught a foul ball:
Or how Annabel’s hair defied the laws of gravity:
James also got his first fitted cap, and we discovered he and Annabel wear the same size (6 3/4):
Annabel got to run the bases at Scottsdale Stadium:
And my two buddies bonded:
It was a great trip…you know, other than the vomit. *cries*
Debbie A-H says:
Love that last picture. Those are two wonderful faces!
Lanie says:
Vomit in cars is the worst. We were on a trip taking a cab to the airport and both of the twins got sick – my husband unpacked clothes to clean it up and we gave the cab driver extra money to have the car cleaned but YUCK!!
Love the pictures of the trip and the vomit free parts look like it was a fantastic trip!
Connie says:
We threw out a carseat last year after our daughter “decorated” it and herself when we were only 15 minutes from our destination (after being in the car 12 hours). We tore it apart and tried to clean it. That smell does not come out. My MIL was horrified that we were throwing it away. I was horrified she thought we could keep it with that smell.
Jessica says:
That last picture is perfect! How adorable!
MH says:
The last picture – seriously! Don’t you see Mike staring at you in Annabel?!?!? Expression and all!
Jackson says:
Now that you mention it, I totally agree.
Nancy says:
We had a stretch of several years where the success of our road and air trips was in part measured by whether or not someone(s) vomited. My kids are now 14 and 12 and that phase is sort of, mostly, but not completely, behind us. Hang in there…as you show so beautifully, it’s possible to still make great memories amidst the clean-up.
Martha says:
James looks so much like you in that last photo. I’ve seen it before, but never so clearly. And, I agree with others that Annie takes after Mike. Two beautiful kiddies.
Glenda says:
Rosey cheeks!!!
Rian says:
I get the hat size thing. Jack’s head, at 16 months old, is too big for Vivienne’s bike helmet (4t). I’m convinced he’ll be a genius with a brain that size.
Lindsay says:
You seriously have the cutest kids on the planet.
And James’ eyes. You’re in trouble lady. I bet he already gets loads of compliments..
Jeanie says:
Sounds fabulous, other than…you know. Love that last picture. That right there’s suitable for framing. Of course, all your pictures, but I think that one’s special.
Callie says:
I was always puking in the car. My parents started putting gallon sized ziplock baggies in the car all the time and the whole box during long trips. Best way to help contain the vomit!
Stephanie says:
If it was James that got sick and his seat is still backwards, that may be the culprit! It’s the worst!
