Life has been kicking my ass over the last two weeks. After being on a zillion antibiotics for a zillion different infections, I started getting sick to my stomach. Like…I was so nauseated I busted out some stashed pregnancy tests, because why else would I be so sick? Luckily for me, I am NOT pregnant. After some sleuthing, we discovered that the prescription allergy medication I’d been taking was wreaking havoc on my body. So I’m off that now, and I’m finally starting to feel better, albeit congested. But I will take being congested over vomiting multiple times a day! Been there, done that, never want to do it again.
Anyway, life keeps going, even when you’re sick! A few weekends ago, we attended little Liam’s baptism. Liam was pretty excited about it.
The church was beautiful and the service was lovely. My brother and Ted’s sister, Megan, were the godparents.
We also managed a rare family photo:
Last week, I was in Orlando for a conference. I loved the chance to reconnect with old and new friends (especially my favorite, Jen, who I don’t see nearly enough), but conferences are always exhausting and this one was no exception. When I arrived home, I was so happy to see Mike and the kids, who gave me the best welcome home ever.
I had a really lovely Mother’s Day morning. The kids gave me homemade gifts: a flower made of thumbprints from James, and a bracelet made of beads and a special shrinky-dink from Annabel. I also got this awesome pillow from Mike and the kids:
I cried when I opened it. I love that there’s a large picture of Rigby on one side, and then a picture of her with each of us on the other side. I haven’t been able to stop hugging it since I got it. I miss that puppy so much.
We had brunch at my parents’ house, where we were joined by the rest of the family. We spent some time trying to get Liam to walk to each of us. He was confused by the whole thing.
We also got a really great photo of the moms and kids.
Do I look like someone trying not to throw up? Because I was.
Then I came home and slept all afternoon and tried not to die. Stupid allergy pill.
Anyway, I hope everyone who celebrates it had a fabulous Mother’s Day!

The problem with the allergy pill is very annoying; I hope you can maybe find another one that doesn’t make you sick!! Where did they get that pillow made? I would love one of my cats!
Heather says:
Collage.com! It’s great!!!
Jeanie says:
My heart melted when I saw your new pillow. My daughter had one made for me with my three-year-old labradoodle on it, but of course yours is more meaningful.
Toni says:
Oh my gosh, love the pillow!!!!
Tam. says:
That is the most adorable pillow!! Love your blue dress! Do you mind if I ask where you got it?
Feel better soon!

I can totally relate to the nausea from antibiotics. After three weeks, last night was the first time I had a proper meal in three weeks. I hope you feel better soon.
I love your pillow. What a thoughtful gift.
Johanna says:
That pillow is great. Can you ask Mike where he had it made? I have a friend who lost her pup way too soon and would love to get her a custom pillow with her pups pics.
Grandma Linda says:
He got it through this website Collage.com. I love the pillow I did with all my grandkids on both sides.
Johanna says:
Thank you!
Steph says:
So sorry you have been sick, especially on Mother’s Day. That pillow is just the most thoughtful, sweetest, lovely gift. Good job, Mike! Hope you are fully recovered now.
Becca says:
Oh man.. *I* even teared up when I saw that pillow! So sweet..

Isn’t is funny that as women if we are nauseous for anytime over 2 days that little voice in your head starts to mess with that “OMG I can’t be pregnant” trigger in our brains… well I’m happy you sorted that out. And your pillow brought me immediate tears.. thanks for sharing it was from Collage.com, cuz my hubby just got the pillow request. LOL
