It’s been a while since I’ve written…I’ve been so busy. I can’t imagine how exhausted I would be if I had a job right now, too! Of course, part of my busy-ness is looking for a job, so I guess that’s a toss-up. I actually have an interview tomorrow for a very cool company…so fingers crossed. Looking for a job is hard, yo! But it sure beats commuting every day, so I’m going to enjoy it while I can.
It was great going back to New York. I really felt like I hadn’t left, it was weird. I saw all my friends and went to a couple of birthday parties. I also made some new friends in my pal Leigh’s roommates. I did SO MUCH walking on one of the days, I figured out that I walked almost 100 blocks. Needless to say, I was exhausted. And then I got sick. All of Leigh’s roommates had been sick, so I caught it there. I lost my voice and got a WICKED cold that turned into a sinus infection. People, it made me miss St. Patrick’s Day. I don’t think you understand how upsetting that is to me! It’s my personal high holy day. I was depressed for days. I was actually sick for over a week, it really sucked. I still have a bit of a cough, but that’s always the last thing to go away.
While I was sick, I managed to make it to a shower for Bella thrown by her maid of honor. I am so glad I was up for it, because it was a blast. Her MOH’s house is AMAZING, and it was fun to sit at a table with all my friends and laugh and gossip. We were surrounded by friends of the mothers and grandmothers, so we were a little island of young people. Also, there were like 50 people at the shower, so when Bella started to open her presents, we all went a little stir crazy. We MAY have been playing drinking games, and I MAY have written a limerick about Bella and her fiancé, and we MAY have been trying to goad Bella into saying things for our own amusement. We still acted like ladies, though! Just very loud, slightly drunk ladies. This Saturday is another shower for her, should be just as fun.
On Tuesday Mike and I got back from Arizona, where we’d been since Thursday with his family. They go every year to Scottsdale, where the San Francisco Giants are based for spring training, and go to games and restaurants and basically have a great vacation. This was my third time going with them, and it gets better every year. This year, Mike’s nephew came along and we just had a blast with him. He’s four months old now, and SO FREAKING CUTE! He’s so chubby and happy, he smiles and babbles all the time. We took him to his first baseball games, and even though I hate the Giants, he looked pretty damn cute in his little Giants uniform. Mike and I loved that we could just hang out with him and chill or play whenever we wanted. And, in glorious fashion, could return him to his parents when he smelled like poop. While Mike kept commenting that I had serious baby lust, I will stick with Rigby for now! I don’t have to wipe her butt and she can feed herself!!
Now that we’re back from Arizona, I feel like it’s time for me to really find my path. I have enjoyed two nice months of being at home, and while I would seriously not mind at LEAST another two months, I know I have to find a job, and fast. It’s not like I haven’t been looking, but I honestly didn’t want a job before the Arizona trip and I think because I didn’t want one, I didn’t get one. I have some expensive months ahead of me, and my bank account has dwindled to a dangerously low amount. I wish I could find an awesome job where I could work from home so I could still play with my puppy! Hee hee…wishful thinking, I know.
