HOW are we already at this point?
Last week, Annabel hit the six month mark.
(month one, month two, month three, month four, month five)
Last week, I took Annie for her six month well baby visit with Dr. Looove. I was kind of a mess, as it was the morning after my aunt passed, and Dr. Looove immediately asked me what was wrong because she is the Best. Doctor. Ever. We talked for a while, and I just adore her. I feel so lucky that I found her when I did. I can’t imagine another doctor caring for me and my family.
Anyway, back to Annie’s visit. Dr. Looove went over Annie’s measurements:
weight: 18 pounds, 1 ounce
length: 26 1/2 inches
head: 17 inches
hair: thick
These measurements came out to length in the 50th percentile, head in the 75th percentile, and weight? NINETIETH PERCENTILE. NINE-OH. PERCENT. I know I say this every month, but it’s so hard for us to wrap our heads around all the delicious chub!
The rest of Annabel’s appointment went swimmingly. She’s right on target for everything. Basically, the 100th percentile of awesome. She’s rolling, grabbing, babbling, and doing all the other things she’s supposed to be doing.
Have I mentioned that I birthed myself? Sure, she looks like Mike (although, I think she looks like her sister), but her attitude is all me. She must be entertained constantly. She is loud. She brings her hand to her head as if to say, “My life as a baby, it is so hard! Woe!”
The solid food is…progressing. Some days she tolerates eating solids, and other days she hates it. But you know who LOVES it?
You can’t turn away for ONE SECOND or Rigby is all up in the baby’s grill. We have since moved to the high chair. I had to get that picture though, because it reminded me so much of this one:
Rigby has aged really well.
And…I just realized it’s even the same bib. Sigh.
Still no teeth, and I swear if they don’t pop through soon I am going to pull them out myself. Poor Annie is MISERABLE. I can’t wait until teething is over…you know, in two years.

Adrian poppped two upper molars this week. But not the entire tooth, just the bumpy edges. So he’s miserable and chewing at the same time. It makes me laugh except at midnight.

So sweet. I cannot believe that she is already 6 months old! I wouldn’t count on the teething thing being over too soon, my daughter didn’t get her first tooth until she was 14 months and now at 21 months only has 4!

here’s hoping teeth aren’t far behind! we were late bloomers with teeth for our daughter, 11 mos! but then they started to come in like gangbusters.
I don’t know how you or your baby get any sleep, because I would be munching on those cute little baby legs 24/7!! She is adorable! You and your husband make pretty babies.

Nellie hit the 6 month mark on the 20th of this month and I can hardly believe it. It’s like time’s speed switch accidentally got bumped to “ludicrous speed” when she was born. Annabel is so adorable and you can see she has such personality just from her pictures!

90%…wow! My kids were never in the 90% for anything as babies. My younger son is quite the opposite – always 3-5% for weight (only 29 pounds at his 4 year check up).

Happy 6 months, Annabel! It’s fun reading about Annabel and her adventures since my son is the same age, to the day. Of course, it then gives me a little anxiety. I’ll turn to my husband, “oh no, Cullen’s not flying with a cape yet and saving the world…should he be? Is he behind all the other babies? We need to work on his cape skills!” We have Cullen’s 6-month appointment today, and I’m looking forward to learning his stats. I love her chubby little legs and cheeks. My almost 18 month old is 19lbs 2oz, but eats like a pig, I wish I had her metabolism. Oh and the teeth are awful. My little girl is now getting ten at once. She got hers very late. She was almost a year so hang in there. She is so cute, and i think she looks so much like Maddie
She is getting cuter by the day… If that was even possible. She is getting so big. Funny thing is my almost 9 month old just weighs a little over 16lbs. We got some catching up to do. Keep the cute pics coming. When u said the same bib it broke my heart.. Rigby is so lucky to have had 2 beautiful babies to eat after!

My oldest weighed 25 pounds at 6 months….that’s a chubby baby! She had rolls and dimples on her rolls and dimples! Now she’s 5’11″, so she was just meant to be an off the charts kind of girl.

The pictures with the alphabet blocks at month intervals is something I wished I thought to do 25 years ago with my kiddos.
I can’t believe she’s 6 months old already. It seens like it was just yesterday when I sat staring at my computer screen with tears streaming down my face reading the news of her birth. Happy to hear that she is doing so well, I’m not sure what it is, but reading about her just makes me smile. Happy Birthday!

Here’s where I tell you how crazy I am. I don’t even know if I should write this because I sound like a nut job. The other day one of your pictures on the side bar caught my eye. Long story, short, I spent an hour or two reading old posts and looking at pics of Maddie bawling. I even had nightmares that night. I’m crazy right? It’s amazing how much you can love and miss someone you haven’t met. And then when I acknowledge that it’s 500 million times worse for you guys….well, I don’t know what to even say about that.
Anyway, we’ll never forget Maddie and I’m thinking about and praying for you guys all the time.

I’d be so happy about all the fabulous chub myself too! My daughter will be 3 on Sept 3rd, and weighs a whopping 22lbs. We’ll just say Im no stranger to feeding therapy.
