Popping Through

by Heather on August 16, 2010

in the amazing Annabel

Annabel has been teething like a fiend, as I’ve mentioned before. The poor thing has been a drooling machine, with a terrible runny nose. She bites down on EVERYTHING – her fingers, shirts, blankets, toys, bottles, you name it.

It really sucks to see your kids in pain, but when they are little and you can’t explain things to them you feel like the worst mother ever. Annie looks at me with her big eyes and the look on her face says, “Mama! Why does it hurt so much?!”

Heart break!

Last week, Annie was in my lap when she grabbed my fingers and started playing with them. She pulled one of my fingers into her mouth and bit down….and I yelped. So I looked in her mouth and there they were!

two teef!

Two bottom teeth! I can’t believe she already has teeth popping through. It makes me feel like she is so grown up!

Luckily, with the arrival of her teeth, her happy smile has returned.

So Smiley

And with the return of her smile, mine has returned as well.

She is gorgeous. Lovely smile that will be even lovelier with a beautiful toothful grin to accompany it. <3

Annie makes my heart melt. What a sweetie. My daughter is cutting two molars right now. Please send vodka my way. For me, not for my little girl. ;)

Get her sophie!! She’s a giraffe that I guess is perfect for teething. She’s rubber easy to hold and babies go crazy about her! A couple of my friends have her for their children and they just love her! You can find her at babies r us or toys r us. And I am sure if you google her you might be able to find her online!

Yay Annie! I think Nate’s top teeth are on their way, judging from the amount of drool and general level of misery.

How neat… It’s adorable to see those tiny white things popping up. I still remember it from when my babies were small. (Now 33 years ago…)
Well done Annie… Bite it now!

Now come some of the cutest baby pictures ever, what I like to call the “two toof” days.

With both kids those were also the days I started counting down to the day we’d stop nursing. Even though they both nursed until they were two, I spend the next year and a half or so shrieking “OW!!” a lot.

It’s probably a good thing we don’t remember teething, cause man, I bet it was painful.

Love those two little teefers!

Oh, those 2 bottom teet are so cute. (My 8 year old just lost his 2 top teeth.) Think of all the fun things you have to look forward to – visits to the dentist, lost teeth, the tooth fairy & orthodontia! :-)

Yay for teeth! So glad they’re through and you get a slight reprieve from the monster that is teething.

Glad the teeth have popped through! The twins NEVER drooled. I never knew when they were getting a tooth. It was strange after having Drooly Drewie around. He was a soaked mess until all his teeth came in. :)

Yay for teeth! And even more YAY for happy baby smiles!! I LOVE those – I just had a fun weekend shooting my cousin’s 1 year old about a month ago, and my computer is now FULL of happy baby smiles… they must all have something in common, because it’s amazing how much her daughter’s smile and Annie’s look alike in this photo!

YAY baby teeth! Baby teeth are so sweet. I have a friend whose son was born a week after Annie, and he’s still gnawing on everything to get his teeth through. I guess girls rule, boys drool! :)

Annie is sitting up so well already, such a sweet baby girl! Here is to more teeth coming through! Probably the top 2 will come through next. Then she can bite down on some soft things, like Maddie’s favorite treat – eclairs?

Yay for Annabelle! I feel your pain….literally! I have girls that are almost 2 years old now and we’re still dealing with teething. Tonight one of them bit me so hard I thought she was going to break the skin!

42 nona August 16, 2010 at 4:52 pm

Is it rude to say she gets cuter every day? Because that seems to imply she wasn’t as cute before, but I beg to differ. I think that babies develop more ways to express their personality as the days and months go by, seeing as their brains and bodies are developing at a rapid rate. Cuteness isn’t just about physical appearance, so those intellectual milestones highlight the cuteness! Oh, and the chunkaliciousness. ;)

Reply

43 nona August 16, 2010 at 4:54 pm

Okay, that last sentence didn’t end up in a new paragraph like I wanted, so let me clarify: The increasing chunkaliciousness highlights the cuteness. It’s a joke. Cuz I was being all PC and saying it was intellect. ;)

Oh man, I almost cried when you said that her look of pain says, “moma why does it hurt so bad?” there is nothing worse than knowing your kid is in pain and knowing that there is nothing you can do to make it better or to stop it. It is a necessity that they have to endure.
