Nine Down

in the amazing Annabel

Annabel…what is there to say about her this month…I think this picture sums it up.

IMG_5530

Doesn’t she seriously look like she is about to start a fire with her mind?

(month one, month two, month three, month four, month five, month six, month seven, month eight)

weight: 21 pounds 13 ounces
length: 28 1/2 inches tall
head: 18 inches
hair: party on the top, business in the back

IMG_5528

In the last month, Annie has gained four more teeth, perfected crawling, learned to feed herself with her fingers, figured out how to pull up and cruise the furniture, and has had a complete and epic sleep regression. Her eyes have completed their change from blue to a greenish-hazel.

Also, she gained almost two pounds in a month. Everyone said her gaining would slow down once she started to move. Well people, she NEVER. STOPS. MOVING. And yet, she is in the 95th percentile for weight. She’s 75th-90th for head and height.

She is into everything.

IMG_5533

And when she knocks/rips/throws/breaks something? She couldn’t be prouder of herself.

where'd they go?

The awesome news is that she has started to say some words. When she sees a picture of a baby (usually Madeline) she says “bay bay.” When she drops something or falls, she says “uh oh.” I’m working on her saying “Mama” “Dada” and “STOP BARKING RIGBY OMG.”

You know, having a kid that can move and stand up is kind of not worth it when they don’t understand when you say, “go change the channel on the TV for mama.” I really need her to start working for me, you know? This kid is just take take take.

Good thing I love her so much.

Ohmigosh she is gorgeous, even when she’s about to light a fire with the power of thought!
Also, I think she is now bigger than (my admittedly very petite) 2-year-old.
Definitely time for her to start doing chores, though :-)

See. I’d like to go back to no talking. I’ve heard “No!” enough to last mr a lifetime. But I do enjoy getting them to do things for me. Seriously, kids LOVE to throw stuff in the garbage and take clothes out of the dryer. It’s like they live for that shit!

Ahem. I *meant* baby.

Bene is Afrikaans for legs. That’s one option. Maybe you’re channelling your unconscious desire to squish those thighs. ;)

Hello My Friends!!!

I remember Maddie saying “Bay bay” – well, actually it was “Bye Bay Bay” with your brother Kyle. I can’t wait until Annie gives you a Mama. I know that day will be bitter/sweet since Maddie didn’t say Mama but, it will also be so cool to hear it come from your baby’s mouth.

So many fun and exciting things to come with Annie!!! I so wish I was closer so I could experience them with you 1st hand….BUT, I’m so grateful I’ll get to experience them through your blog! THANK YOU!

Jenn xo

P.S. I found my babies lost the most weight when they were up and walking and especially when they were up and RUNNING (which came VERY SHORTLY after walking)!!!

I’m up at 3:30 am with my 16 day old son who is having his first sleepless night and has been wanting to eat pretty much non-stop for 4 hours now. Reading about Annie made my night. The months ahead of us are going to be so fun!

She amazes me. My daughter is exactly one day older and I have so enjoyed watching our girl’s milestones. Sometimes they are the same, and sometimes one of them takes a giant leap forward, and then they come together again.
I’m so glad it’s not just me dealing with sleepless nights, with a determined little girl. I adore your little one! ( and my own!) ;)

You should probably start the corporal punishment soon… she sounds like a real trouble maker, ya know?

In our house we refers to that older infant/toddler age with time periods called ‘the peanut butter incident’ and ‘the diaper cream smack down’ or ‘that time Hannah scaled three baby gates, a pool gate and two locked doors to put her feet in the pool when she was 2′

Mine are 7 and 8 now, I think I’ve hit the calm before the pre-pubescent storm. I feel like Robert Ballard… muddling through the calm waters only to find a that disaster of a shipwreck. Like any moment *boom* she could hit puberty and I’ll be dealing with the sinking of the Titanic.

On that note, the did finally figure out how to change the channel for mama

She’s adorable! We have an almost 5 year old now who was a 95th% baby. She’s still trending around there so things haven’t changed for her but she’s in the same bracket for height so she’s just a big kid. The way her weight distributed it appears like she’s totally thinned out. She used her rolls to spring up. All of this to say she’ll be who she is and all you can help is her activity level and food choices. We do our best since we can’t change her biology’s plan…

Sounds like she’s hitting the developmental milestones, and hitting them hard, this month. Bright little thing!

I was really happy when Evan walked kind of early, because then I could put him to work. We got “throw this away” down really fast…unfortunately, he has a hard time understanding the difference between trash and “those super important work papers daddy left on the coffee table”.

And he STILL can’t open the fridge OR a beer bottle. Damn babies are sooooo needy.

Love these pictures! Especially the first one. So, the real question is, did she get that expression from you or from Mike? Because, especially when I’m annoyed or mad, sometimes I feel expressions on my own face that I know came from my dad. Nearly all of my other expressions came from my mom, I think, so I don’t notices those as much, the the “don’t mess with me” looks — 100% a gift from my dad.

Have a great week, Heather!

Annabel is SO adorable! I love it when they say “Uh oh”, that is so cute! And “bay bay” is so precious. I recall when my daughter was that age, she would crawl under a chair and sit there looking so cute! She would crawl under the sink because she learned how to open the doors under there – time for baby proof locks on lower cupboards! She would crawl under the bed and laugh, and I could hear her, but she couldn’t quite say “come find me mama!”

Such a joy this age!! Have fun. :)

Gooooooodnesssss…she is beyond cute. Absolute perfection if you ask me. I have a daughter who was 9 months on the 12th. She is also in the 95% for weight and my pedi told me (his exact words) that she “carries too much weight in her trunk.” at first I thought he was talking about her rump, but my husband informed me that he meant her tummy. Seriously?!? I wanted to punch him—the doc, not my hubs. I look at my daughter (and Annie) and see nothing but pure and total cuteness! Everyone tells me hers will fall off when she gets around too. Right now, she gets everywhere by dragging herself “army style.” Too bad she can’t hang with Annabel so she could learn the ropes!;) anyway…long comment just to say that I totally dig your kid.
