Different Already

in the amazing Annabel

I woke up yesterday and I looked at Annabel and I realized she doesn’t look like a newborn anymore. She has fat on her. She’s losing her hair. Her baby acne has come and gone. Her eyes are often open and focused on my face.

She’s seven weeks old and she’s changing rapidly! We weighed her last week and she was eight pounds twelve ounces. She’s probably over nine by now! She’s gained half of her birth weight. It boggles my mind.

seven weeks

Mike’s parents are here from the Bay Area. They hadn’t seen Annie since she was two weeks old and they flipped over how much she’s changed.

I love putting her on her back or tummy and watching her figure things out. She’s finding her voice, and one of these days’s she’s going to accidentally roll over and scare herself.

Do they always grow this fast?

I love that you’re sharing Annie and that I’m getting to watch her grow up. She is so beautiful and precious. It does however make me sad, because I never got to see Maddie grow. I found your blog after you lost Maddie. It’s unbelievable how much you can bond with people you’ve never even met. Every day I wonder how Annie is doing and get excited when you’ve updated your blog.
When I first saw a picture of Maddie I instantly adored her, I was fascinated by her, to me she looked like the cutest little pixie with such an infectious smile!
Everytime I see Annie, I see a fairy, I can imagine her with
flowers in her hair and sparkly luminous wings.
Your girls are adorable and to me you all feel like family.

Aw. She’s SOOOOO cute! And growing like a weed. :) In that bottom photo I can ‘see’ Maddie’s face in hers. It’s interesting how they can look so alike and so different at the same time. My nieces and nephews are like that too. Don’t you just wish you could read their minds? I’m pretty sure Annabel’s thinking how happy she is with her life and her wonderful family. And that her mom smells like rainbows and her dad’s the shizznit. Ha ha!!!

She is a doll and my gosh does she look an awful lot like Mike in those pictures. What a cutie! She is growing so very fast, Keelyn grew like that. SHe went from premie to newborn clothes in two weeks then ease into 3 Month in the next month. at 16 Months she wears a 2T that fits nicely but is getting a tad short for her. I’m worried that next month she will start asking to borrow my clothes! I bet you feel something like that with Annie and her super speed growth too.

It is amazing how fast they grow! I’ve noticed that with all the months of snow and bundling up that anytime I see my son naked, I’m shocked because somehow he looks so much bigger when you can actually see him and not the outfit.
My son started off at 10 lbs 9 oz, so I had that feeling of “when did he get so big” the first time I laid eyes on him and it really hasn’t stopped since.
Your Annie is very adorable! It’s great that you can take such fabulous pictures to remember all her phases – makes me wish I was a better photographer.

The changes come quickly at this age, that’s for sure. One of the wonderful things that I think you and Mike do is taking so manyl pictures and videos. With Madeline, you ended up with endless beautiful memories in stills and action so that you can enjoy her smile and her personality forever. Annie can know her sister. And when Annabel is bigger, it will be a great source of enjoyment for her to look back at all the baby pictures and videos of herself. Your love and pride is evident, recording every precious moment of her growing up.

Isn’t crazy how quickly the change??? I still am surprised when I look at my niece & she’s 1 years old instead of an infant.
One thing I decided to do, was a picture mug of her (via snapfish) each year…so we have a mug with a collage of her birth day and now a 2nd one of her on her 1st birthday. The change in her over the past year is amazing.
I can see me now, as an old lady, with my 40 year old niece sitting by my side shouting loudly into my ear, “Really, Auntie M, I think you should stop with the mugs now! It’s creeping me out!” ;-)

So so cute!

I noticed in your “About” section where you introduce the Spohrs that Annie hasn’t been added to the Spohr family roster yet!

It’s been so long since I’ve had a newborn, that to me, she DOES still look like a newborn! I remember looking at my older daughter on her 3rd birthday and thinking, gosh, she looks so old, no longer a baby. But a year later when I looked at the video again, I thought “She looks like a baby still, and I missed it all this year (cause I had a newborn)”.
She’s adorable!

Holy crap Heather. That is not the same baby I met a few weeks ago! I can’t believe how alert she looks! How big!

I’m going to need to see her again soon.

I’ll bring more chocolate.

Wow! I never understood what people meant when they said “Enjoy them while they’re little because they grow so fast”. It’s amazing how much can change in a few weeks!

She is gorgeous! Congrats to you guys again! So very happy for you. xo

First of all… oh me oh my!!! She’s just such a sweetie!!! Looking at these pics and video make me (almost) want another teeny tiny baby.

Second… sometimes I swear I just gave birth and then I realize Ana is a 32 pounds 20 month old. It goes too fast.

Oh oh oh!! Look at those sweet little baby toes. I look at those and they make my baby look so old!! She is one and a half. But it seems like a HUGE kid in comparison to your sweet little baby there. :)

Sadly yes they always grow that fast. My 10.5 month old baby daughter weighs 26 pounds. I think that’s a record. She still seems like a little snuggle bug to me it I look at Annabel’s pics and it makes me long for those days again. They go so fast. Enjoy her. Matilda has been taking one or two steps every day and I want to push her down and say “mpt yet!”

Annabel looks so much like Mike. Her hair seems so much darker than Maddies and her face is different somehow. But they change so fast. One last comment: You have great taste in baby clothes!

Gosh She is so adorable, congratulations on her growing so quickly, I am sure Maddie has a helping hand with looking after her – sweet angel baby – Big Sister will be so proud of her little sister.
You guys amaze me with how strong you are, and how much love you have to give.

Annie now is the weight my son was at birth (gasp!) Twin daughters were smaller like Annie and even so I marveled at how fast they grew :)

Gorgeous little gal. She is just too smoochable!
