This is the giveaway I’ve been most excited about! Last month, Meghan and I were invited to stay at a Hampton Inn to experience their new Fresh and Clean bedding. That means everything on the bed is washed between guests – even the duvet cover. No comforter cooties!
This bed is awesomely comfortable. I slept WAY better than a baby in mine.
See that bed up there? I am giving away a Hampton Inn bedding set! Everything you see up there except the lumbar pillow, dust skirt and headboard. I kind of want to win.
If you don’t win the bedding set, don’t despair – you could still sleep in a fresh and clean bed. Because…I am also giving away two free nights to any Hampton Inn!
TWO! FREE! NIGHTS!
ANY! HAMPTON! INN!
I really want to win this one.
To enter, leave a comment below telling me what your favorite blog post of mine is. You can find a list of all my blog posts here.
Only US residents can win the bedding. Anyone can win the free hotel nights.
These prizes are courtesy of the Hampton Inn, they will be providing the fulfillment of the bedding and I am providing the hotel gift certificates (meaning, I’m mailing them to the winner). Meghan and I received a free night in a hotel but everything else is my opinion blah blah DISCLOSURE!
Two different people will win these prizes. The winners will be chosen by random.org. Since I will be out of town speaking at the Evo Conference, this contest won’t end until Saturday at noon. Winners will be announced sometime on Saturday or Sunday. COINCIDENTALLY, Sunday is my birthday. Presents for everyone!
Good luck friends!!!
Congrats to the winners!

My Little Maddie Moo is my most favorite of all your posts. It was so touching…and then at the end of it: The Video. I must have watched Maddie’s video 1200 times. And I had never seen the movie “Knocked Up” before, until about 6 months later, when we Netflixed it…and when at the end that song came on…..Oh. My. God. I completely broke down and bawled, and my husband was staring at me, wondering “what the heck? We just watched a comedy, and you’re crying at the end at some song?” And I just kept saying, “That’s the song! That’s the song!” as tears rolled down my cheeks. Yes, My Little Maddie Moo is my most favorite. Hands Down.
Alison says:
I’m not sure. So many of your posts make me laugh, so many make me cry. I do really like your Annabel videos – they amuse my son and I greatly.

carrielu says:
My Little Maddie Moo…you are so open and honest and raw. I too am brought to tears every time I read it. The words are of a mother who loves and adores her baby girl, and it is absolutely beautiful. I found your blog last fall, and obsessively read from beginning to end, your words brought Maddie to life, and I wept with the world when I read the April 7th post. You have such a gift, and you have given both of your girls, -and all of us- such an amazing view of motherhood, filled with joy, love, LOTS of laughter, and a chronicle of the unspeakable pain of losing Maddie. Thank you for sharing your words…

Lori says:
Okay Heather…I’m telling you right now, I can’t pick a favorite. I love ALL of your entries and read them first thing EVERY morning. I love the way you write and everything you say touches me.
Since I don’t have an all time favorite, I’ll tell you the blog that was most touching for me. I have a daughter named Madelyn as well (but with a y, as you see). I saw something on babycenter about Matt Logelin’s blog and clicked on it b/c his daughter’s name was Madeline too. And because you also have an awesome taste and named your daughter Madeline I clicked on over to your site. This was on April 15, 2009 when you wrote “Home”. I was holding my little Mady in one arm and the laptop in the other. I couldn’t believe what I was reading. I was so upset, sad, pissed and heartbroken that your little Maddie Moo was taken from you. I was so touched by the way you wrote. You were so descriptive, I felt like I was with you that day while you picked up your daughter’s urn. I thought to myself how like you, I couldn’t wait to hear my little girl say Mama and my heart ached because you never got to hear that from Maddie’s sweet lips…. I realized at that moment that nothing is promised. I hugged my Madelyn tighter than I ever have and thanked God for giving her to me.
So from that day forward I have been deeply touched by every single word you have written. Thank you for making me appreciate what I have as well as making me realize it can be taken from me at any given moment.
Holly says:
I LOVE all of your posts…some because they’re so touching, others because they’re hilarious. It’s hard to pick a favorite, but honestly I think my favorite is your newest one — Heather Spohr: Giant Dork. I love the Cosmo Model shoot pic and your wardrobe malfunctions (because I can relate). Ahh…I read your blog as a start to my work day, and it always gets me off to a good one! Thanks!
Laura says:
I was most excited and anxious to read your post announcing Annabel’s arrival. Every morning when I checked my google reader I think I held my breath wondering if that day would be the day we got the announcement. Of course, now that I’ve typed that, I have to say I’m remembering the surprise I had when I read the one annoucing your pregnancy with Annabel. I remember tearing up for that one.
Diane says:
Here comes the sun- January 22, 2010.
SuZ says:
I love your last post: Heather Spohr: Giant Dork.
Simply because I know for a fact I am a Giant Dork (or at least my husband keeps telling me so) and it’s nice to know I am not alone in my geekiness.
Happy Early Birthday!
Spring says:
It’s way too hard to pick one post, but the recent one you did “Moms say the Darndest Things” was incredible. It reminded me so much of my aunt who is 60 and is loving the texting. Half of her abbreviations make little to no sense and I feel like I need a code book.
Becky says:
I think my gavorite post was the one announcing the birth of Annabel. It made my cry like a baby!
Karyn says:
i know this may seem like a cop out, but i love your top ten dorkiest qualities. Everyone has a little weird in them just waiting to come out! and really the whole blog is amazing so to pick just one would be unfair

Amy says:
I wanna win! LOVE new bedding. My favorite post is Little Maddie Moo.
Melanie says:
I love all of your silly Annie video posts (especially the one where she saved Rigby), and the posts when you talk about happy Maddie memories. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I check your blog every morning by going to remembermaddie.com, and I think of and remember Maddie every time, even if the post doesn’t specifically mention her. I’m pretty sure i’d sit here for a good 3 or 4 minutes trying to think of the main url if you no longer used the remembermaddie address.
Lori says:
Me too! I could have written this!
Julie R. says:
My Little Maddie Moo and the Video. Just Beautiful.

coloradolady says:
Hands down…My Little Maddie Moo!!
Great giveaway Heather!! Happy Birthday!!
Angela H says:
The peanut butter eating dog. WOW. I was rolling!!!
Missy says:
Your post “For my Madeline” was wonderful. I was lousy at filling in my daughter’s baby book so I keep a spiral notebook handy. I write letters to her just like you wrote to Maddy. Some day, I hope my M reads these and doesn’t hold a grudge against me for not blogging to the world her wonderful accomplishments.
Sheryl says:
I don’t think I could pick one favorite! I have several…I love your raw honesty & great sense of humor. It helps that you can laugh at yourself…we could all stand to do a bit more of that.
Jeanne says:
I love most of your posts, but one of my real faves is Boys Have Cooties. It makes me laugh…
Diane says:
Video of The Amazing Annabel, hands down. Rigby was in a pot on the stove! That’s high comedy.
Kim Q says:
My favorite post was about Rigby and the peanut butter. I laughed for days!
JULIE ELLIS says:
JULIE ELLIS PART 2…
My husband and I love Corso vs Spohr too
You are hilarious!
Lauren says:
Honestly, I enjoy reading them all … it has become part of my daily routine. Your posts make me laugh, cuss & cry.
I can’t pick just one … I have several favorites- but all for different reasons. I’m going with “all of the above.”
Kirsten says:
For me, it’s the posts like “Looking for Meanings” that are the best. When you share your heart, and the things you have wrestled with, and the things you have overcome, and the way you are determined to live now. Even if I don’t win this (which I won’t because I never do) I’m really thankful for the things you share with us. They stay with me.
Dawn says:
I laughed so hard at the post about your mom and using “hip” phrases, um, inappropriately! Too funny!
Megan says:
My favorite post of yours is http://thespohrsaremultiplying.com/2009/04/my-little-maddie-moo/
It’s heartbreaking, but beautiful.
Jen says:
Just one favorite — that is hard! I’m going with your Sisters post from March 2010. I loved that.
Happy Birthday!
Amber says:
The Maddie Moo video, of course! I love it!
Stephanie Parnell says:
“It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s….” is probably one of my favorites. So fun and made me laugh a lot!
Laurie says:
Well, I don’t really have a favorite (so hard to choose). But you seem to have the best sense of humor, so anything that involves that. Also the happy posts about either of your babies.
Kimberly says:
I have to echo the sentiments above about the beauty of your post ‘My Little Maddie Moo’. I look forward to reading your blog everyday over coffee.
Liz says:
My favorite posts are your video posts of friday. They always put a smile on my face! It’s a nice way to start the day =o)
Jaime says:
your post today about being a giant dork had me laughing quite a lot, but as far as touching posts go, I’ve always loved My Little Maddie Moo.
Gina says:
As soon as I come into work before i even open my email I check my favorite blogs and suprise your’s is the first.
I love all your posts because their real is so many different ways. Somedays I cry and somedays I laugh. It’s hard for me to pick just one.
Sorry.
Carin says:
I just cannot stand the sheer cuteness of Maddie’s teething post. I think it’s not only the best example of your sense of humor and blogging skill (the picture-embedding alone must have taken more patience than I’ve ever exhibited in my life) but also of your rapport as a family. I am so glad that Annie has such a funny, loving household to grow up in.
Chrissy says:
My favorite was the latest video. “An Annabel Spohr exscluive” I love the videos you guys are doing with her.
Kim says:
My favorite is My Little Maddie Moo.
Jessie says:
Although I love all of your posts, and am grateful I found your blog in a challenging time in my life as your strength has been great encouragement, for me, I truly enjoy your humorous posts the best. So it would only be appropriate that the winner is “Desperate Measures”, which was written so honestly and hysterically that I have mentioned the story to other women and we have all had a “I’ve been there” laugh (that went on for a few minutes). Your creativity in that situation was fantastic and I loved that you were willing to share such an embarrassing and common moment with your adoring readers. Thanks again, and thank goodness for baby diapers and clueless husbands.
Jenn says:
Conversations in a Car!! I laughed so hard because I have had this conversation with any one of my kids on numerous occassions. I once sang “Wheels on the Bus” for 45 minutes in the car because my daughter was quiet if I sang!!!
Thanks for making me laugh and or cry on any given day, your blog is the first place I go in the morning.
Sara R. says:
I’d like to enter! I think my favorite blog post of yours is Mad Lauer. I love Maddie’s face in the photo where you caught her on the computer checking out pictures of Matt Lauer in a swimsuit!
Kate says:
Here Comes the Sun- I was holding my breath waiting for that post.
Mandi Bone says:
I am not sure of the tittle but it is where Maddie was eating and you wrote for the feeding specialist to suck it. It was that post that got me reading mommy blogs. Since then I have made wonderful friends, started my own blog, and now I am going to Blogher.
Amy says:
Recently my favorite has been Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow. The pictures of Annie in the different wigs were hilarious and gave me a smile the whole day.
Becky says:
I have been keeping up with your blog for awhile now after reading all the archives and there was several posts that had me laughing so hard but the one that comes to my mind first is ‘Peanut Butter Filled Dog’ I could totally see my dog doing this!
Thanks for your beautiful writing Heather. Even though I have never meet you I feel like your an old friend and can’t wait to hear about all your future stories!

Carrie says:
It’s hard to chose just one! So I’ll chose a recent one. “Conversations in a Car” definitely had me rolling.
Candice says:
I’d have to say My Little Maddie Moo for the “serious” post and the post about your rules for Mike….because I totally have rules for my hubby and your post made me laugh until I cried reading it! Although the Annabel music video with the stop action Bumbo chair was epic…
RHEA says:
HOORAY!!! Happy Heather Day
I would love to win either of them, what an indulgent treat.
My favorite blog post of yours is hands-down the Rigby-getting-into-the-peanut-butter post. I just can’t get enough of that overstuffed lil pup face!
Kristin says:
My Little Maddie Moo is such a deeply touching and beautiful post. And, I think my second favorite post is Annabel’s music video.
Heather says:
I have to say, one of my favorite posts is today’s. It’s great to know that your human, and to know how human you are!
Erinn says:
My favorite is “Here Comes the Sun”…what a blessing Annie is to your family!
Kendra says:
I thought that in the middle of the night was hilarious. Sounds just like me and my husband. http://thespohrsaremultiplying.com/2010/06/in-the-middle-of-the-night/
kerry says:
I love many of your posts. I always find it amusing when your daughters are posed in different situations, and you narrate for them. Lately, the video clips of Annabel have been fabulous. As far as the post I read the most and search for most often on your site is your NICU FAQ. I have passed it along to several people who have found it very useful and informative. My son was born on the same day as Annabel, so I particularly love following her adventures. Oddly enough, his name would have been Annabelle had he been a girl (and we have a daughter named Madeline, “Maddie”).
Liz G. says:
Hmmm. That’s a tough one. I did love the Maddie and Matt Lauer post. So many other postings have made me think long and hard (e.g., last week’s doctor in the crowd). Those have been wonderful, but in an entirely different way. Know what I mean?
Amanda says:
I seriously laughed really hard when you made the video of Annabel and Rigby, and you and Mike dressed as Entertainment hosts. Too funny!
Kyla says:
I like “I’m going to file for Social Security” http://thespohrsaremultiplying.com/2009/02/im-gonna-file-for-social-security/
because I just finished university as an – ahem- mature student and was always desperately paranoid that my fellow young, young students would think I was the grandmother and not the mother. Great sense of humor!
Elizabeth says:
My little maddie moo. It’s the first post I ever read and i’ve been reading daily eversince
~Michelle~ says:
Okay, sadly, I have spent the last 20 minutes going through your archives searching for the post I loved the most … BLUE AND GOLD.
Maddy’s eyes were so unique and attention grabbing. They are, quite possibly, the most beautiful eyes I’ve ever seen!
“When I look at her eyes, really look, her face falls away. While the skin around them is unlined, the eyes are old. She has seen much in her short life.” And the picture you have at the top of the post fits perfectly. Her eyes are not only amazing, but angelic.
Hearts broke around the world when Maddy passed away, but I will always remember a comment you made during her funeral, “her eyes were embarrassingly beautiful”. Beautiful they were.
“As you grow older, you shed skin, you lose hair, you grow fingernails. But the eyes. The eyes stay the same. Scars on your skin will fade, a bad haircut grows out, broken nails eventually mend. But the eyes. They can’t un-see. They don’t grow or shed. The eyes you are born with are the eyes you take with you to the grave.”
I will never forget Madeline Alice Spohr with eyes of blue and gold. She has found a place in my heart forever.
Tammy says:
There are so many to choose from but, as a mom to a 5 month old too, I cracked up at “conversations in a car” because I have had and done the same thing with my son!
Andrea says:
Target Birthday from waaay back in 2008! I thought you were so damn cool for having your birthday party in Target! I think of it frequently when I walk into my local Target
Joy says:
Gone to the dogs. It was funny!
Daisy says:
When you brought Maddie home from the hospital! What a wonderful post.

The Great Teething Test is my favorite. Those facial expressions and your snarky observations about booze and toothbrushes as weapons are great.
Alexa says:
Heather – Thank you for your “giant dork” post. It made me laugh. A great start to the day. That will have to be pretty high up on my fave posts list! One of my other favorites is “Kids/Moms Say the Darndest Things”. I think we’ve all been there before and could relate in some way.
Rachel says:
I really love so many of your posts, it’s really hard to choose. I did enjoy the teething test one, it just cracked me up. :o) Happy Early Birthday!

teri says:
I LOVE the “ADVENTURES OF ANNABEL”!!
The love that you share for your daughters is amazing….that creativity that will always be there, the memories…life isn’t fair, but both of your daughters are so blessed to have you as their mommy!
Nic says:
Hands down, the Amazing Annabel video from It’s a Bird, It’s a Plane…”
Marianne says:
I loved when you talked about keeping a jar of peanut butter hidden in the couch cushions. I don’t know why this cracks me up so much.
Jessica says:
Well not to be unoriginal, but My Little Maddie Moo was the ablsolute most touching post I have ever read. That was the post that was up when I stumbled across your blog and I couldnt believe how much I was affected by a little girl I had never met.
There are so many other posts that make me laugh out loud and are so fun to read. When you posted about how Rigby stole your secret peanut butter jar, that you keep in the couch ( I know you know the story, but its so funny to say it), it was so relateable (is that a word) and funny.
Lisa says:
My favorite is “Moms say the darndest things”. It made me laugh out loud.
Maria says:
I love all your posts but I really love the Extra inspired one with Annabell in huge oversized glasses. I LOVED it.

Megan C. says:
It’s a Bird, It’s a Plane.. was hilarious. It was great to see you and your family having a blast.. and I keep giggling just thinking about the video!
Anne says:
I know it wasn’t an “original,” but “Here Comes the Sun” when the beautiful Miss Annie was born was just… perfect.
Emily Siegel says:
Corso vs. Spohr was HILARIOUS. Your creativity and passion for random things crack me up.
Carrie says:
I just read your Lee Corso one and it cracked me up. He lives near where I do (Heathrow, FL) and I keep running into him at Walgreens and Panera.
The last time I think he thought I was stalking him.
And wow, he’s short.
Megan H says:
I love Jersey Spohr, one of the most hysterical reality shows….gym, tan, laundry!
Happy Birthday!
Heather says:
My Little Maddie Moo! I also was really struck by My Favorite Shirt when I read it.
Lisa says:
Oh, picking a favorite post is so hard. One of my new favorites is Imagining, it was so raw and simple and beautiful.
One of my older favorites is When I See Her Smile. The pictures, your words, are all beautiful.
Isabel Khan says:
Hand Prints. May 26, 2009.
Her handprint. I could not stop crying. Sorry.
Adara says:
My favorite post was the one about the rain on your wedding day! I think it was for an anniversary…the reason i love this post is in September, I just got married. I have been reading your blog since 2008…started reading via Matt Logelin’s Blog…I am a fellow Minnesotan who started reading when he was featured in the News Paper up here. Anyways, I was reading your blog while I was still infatuated with my special day and realized that we wore the same dress if not so similar. It was Grace by maggie Sottero…correct me if I am wrong!!! I thought it was so cool to see someone else, someone who’s blog I read almost daily, wearing the same wedding dress as me! There have been a few boring moments are work where I have hopped on and looked at your wedding pics! It looked like such a great day in such a beautiful dress!
Carrie says:
Wow, so hard to choose! I love all of your entries. I guess like a lot of others have said, My Little Maddie Moo. That one really got to me. You are amazing, Heather.
Corri says:
I’ll have to go with Conversations in the Car as a favorite recent one. So hard to choose!
Joanna says:
It’s a Bird, It’s a Plane, It’s… is currently my favorite. So funny! It’s my go to whenever I need a laugh.
Becky says:
So hard to choose! But I’ll go with Here Comes the Sun, because what could be better than the announcement of the baby girl you’d been dreaming of…
Amy H. says:
I really hope I win this!! My favorite post is “It’s a Bird, It’s a Plane…” so cute and funny.
Barbi says:
Heather,
There are way too many to choose, but my recent favorite was “Hair today, gone tomorrow” Annabel looks so sweet in that viking hat.
Barbi
Laber of Love says:
Well now I’m kind of loving the Lee Corso post….in fact, it has just convinced me more that we would be friends in real life.

Jenny G says:
“here comes the sun” is one of my all time favorites. it actually made me cry. and then i read it over again the next day and i cried again!!
Shannon says:
That’s a tough one, because there are so many awesome posts. But I think my favorite is “It’s a bird! it’s a plane! It’s. . .” We have watched that video multiple times, and now my 2-year-old thinks we should name our almost-here-new-baby Annabel. Also, we quote it. “Stinkbomb!”
Trish says:
You have so many amazing posts so I thought I would let my daughter choose (she’s 4). Her favorite posts is Amazing Annie It’s a Bird, It’s a Plane. She made we replay the video about 5 times. She still asks for it, “remember the movie of the super baby, mom?” She loves how you find Rigby in Annabel’s crib. She laughs so hard. Thanks for sharing it!!!!
Marie Green says:
Well, I have lots of chuckles when I read your blog- the wigs and the voices etc, but I have to say that My Little Maddie Moo is definitely the most memorable.
What an awesome giveaway… and Happy birthday!
Melanie says:
My favorite is 153 Holes in my Heart. It was just such a beautiful post.
Jen @ lifelove'n'wine says:
This was really hard because you have so many hilarious and touching posts. One of my favorites was when you were writing about Maddie’s crush on Matt Lauer. Off the top of my head though, my top favorite is probably “I’m Ready for Prime-Time Player”. I think you posted it on Aiming Low at some point too. Seriously, I was laughing so hard because I am the same way. “OHMYGOD WHY ARE YOU REACHING INTO THE CHIP BAG RIGHT NOW I JUST MISSED WHAT SHE SAID AHHHHHHHHH” Ahem. I know you understand.
Kim says:
My favorite, and perhaps its wrong for this one to be my favorite, but there was just something about it that really got to me and made me love your little girl I never met. It was the post where you did your video for maddy after she passed and you talked about her life and and how proud you were to have her and what an impact she made on your life. I could just feel so much love pouring from that post.
Spinoff says:
Wow–this is my favorite post, if I win! I looove Hampton Inn beds.
Jas says:
I think my favorite post was probably Maddie’s methane. It was just a funny little anecdote about your daughter and something that could have just been another story. Another day or two in your life, and you wrote it in such a way it became this humorous tale which also just gave little nuggets of Maddie’s personality (how she plays hide and seek, how she laughs, etc)
Shivani says:
Here comes the sun
Happy Birthday!
Shan says:
I think my favorite would have to be- It’s a Bird, It’s a Plane, It’s….. So Hilarius!!
Emily says:
With all the wonderful posts, there’s no way I could ever choose a favorite, especially out of the Maddie posts. I think I’ll go with Here Comes the Sun though. That was one of the first posts I read, and it brought a lot of hope.
Christy says:
i truly do love all of your posts Heather, but one of my favorites is a recent one. “Heather Spohr: Giant Dork” was AWESOME. I love that you have the courage to post things about yourself that may be embarrassing. I also cracked up at your toilet experiences
Happy Birthday on Sunday!!
Nicole says:
It’s probably strange, but Scar is one of my favorite posts. I think it’s amazing that you can be so open and real with your feelings and I wanted to keep my scars too! Thanks for sharing. Have a great birthday weekend!
Trisha Vargas says:
It is so hard to choose just one.
“Handprints” just about ripped my heart out of my chest.
Now, everytime I see my little Dannica’s prints on the sliding glass doors or the mirrors in my bathroom I don’t rush so much to clean them with windex. I take them in & smile and think of your wonderful little Maddie Moo!!
(((HUGS))) from Florida
Lindsey says:
My favorite recent post is Mike’s Rebuttal. I’m getting married in a month and a half and I am pretty sure your post is a preview of my upcoming marriage

heather ben says:
i am a new-ish reader, but honestly the funniest thing was the link you posted to the Lee Corso post. too funny, that takes dedication!
Karen says:
Just read it today but I LOVE the Theodora post! I am 20 and still sleep with my ‘blue blankie’ – always thought it was weird but between your post and the comments I don’t feel so ridiculous.
Kelly says:
I love the one about the things your mom says. It just cracks me up, because I can SO relate! My mom just asked me the other day what a “tramp stamp” was, and I could barely contain the giggles.
angela says:
So many of your posts have touched my heart, but if I’m going to pick one that made me laugh my a** off, it would have to be “It’s a Bird, It’s a Plane…” Seriously, I was laughing so hard I thought I was gonna wet my pants. My kids thought I was going crazy!
Happy (early) Birthday!!
Jessica says:
My Little Maddie Moo
I cant have children. I found out at 20 years old that I have POF (Premature Ovarian Failure) and I was actually in menopause. I have always felt that I was born to be a mother. I cant. The option was taken away from me soo fast and so unexpectedly. I felt and still feel empty. I dont know anyone else with POF so I have nobody to relate to. I have seen a therapist and I am constantly told to adopt. While I want to, I am afraid that I may never have the kind of connection a mother has with a child she carries….the kind of connection that was blatently obvious between the three of you. This post gives me hope that one day I could have that connection. It reminds me of what is so special to me and to never stop fighting for adoption or IVF….thats it is worth every second of tears, blood, sweat and heartache.
Suz says:
I love reading your blog every day, I cherish so many of your posts. But my favorite was “Here Comes the Sun” too. I felt like I had been holding my breath for 8-1/2 months and I could finally exhale. I was so overjoyed about Annie’s birth. But the words of the song brought so many other emotions for all you had been through. So I have to say that is the post that touched me the most.
P.S. I would really love the 2 free nights at the Hampton so my hubby and I could do a little getaway for our anniversary- pick me!
Traci says:
I luv the PRACTICAL JOKES post!
Al says:
Happy Birthday (coming up)

Terri says:
My favorite post is Here Comes The Sun because I knew what joy that beautiful little girl was going to bring you!
Julia says:

Kathy says:
I love your Lee Corso posts! They made me laugh out loud!
Andrea says:
My Little Maddie Moo.
What an amazing post.

I loved Kids Moms Say The Darndest Things because my grandma is always doing the same thing, and I had a friend who everytime she would cough she would say, sorry I got a little junk in the trunk. Even after we told her what it meant!
Kim says:
Corso vs. Spohr – it cracks me up!
Melissa says:
I see from above comments that I am not alone, and didnt even have to look at your list. I dont have a favorite, because frankly all your posts are good, and loving Maddie is really your most inspiring posts, but they get raw, as they should, well, I dont know if should is the word, but its so TRUE, and I can feel you.
Your funnies post is Peanut Butter Filled Dog. When you wrote of Rigby waking Mike because she was so thirsty I was ROLLING!
Ann says:
My favorite post is now your Lee Corso post – I either missed that post or was not a religious reader at that point. That is some funny stuff.
Melissa says:
Uh, that would be funniest. Not funnies.

For My Madeline – a friend’s son passed away at the age of 12 and this blog just reminds me of how she feels about Daniel.

What an awesome give away! I love the updates about Rigby, by far the best was The Birds & The Rigbies. The video made with the song choice… I was crying, laughing so hard. And Peanut Butter Filled Dog was fantastic too.
Julie B says:
my little maddie moo
no words for what it did for me:)
You are sooooo not a dork (from the latest post). I gotta tell you that I thought Scrunchy’s were super H-O-T in the 90’s — because — THEY WERE!!!
KarenMcG says:
If we’re going recent, then I am definitely saying Annabel’s “Super girl” video! (It’s A Bird! It’s A Plane! It’s…June 11, 2010) Hi-Lar-I-Ous!
Also, my birthday is tomorrow…. I’m just sayin’

One of my favorites is: I’m Gonna File For Social Security….what a ridiculous makeup lady!!!
Kate says:
The “Parts of Madeline” post.
I’m a photographer, and I absolutely loved this idea of capturing all the delicate little features. Beautiful.
Stephanie says:
I love all of your posts but my absolute favorite is “In The Middle Of The Night”. I have never laughed so hard, mostly because it basically sums up most of my nights. Only I would be the one asking, do you ever wonder how the phone works? Dave does not appreciate my late night thoughts….
Erin says:
Your blog is the first I check everyday, so I have lots of favorites, but what comes to mind right now is a recent one – Moms Say The Darndest Things – I read it at work and was laughing out loud!
What a great giveaway! And HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Kathryn says:
I absolutely loved “Jersey Spore”…too cute and funny. I honestly love all of your posts though; you’re a great writer

Kim says:
It is so hard to pin down my favorite but Here comes the sun makes me smile that happiness has found you again. I think I laugh and cry at almost all your posts.
Nicole says:
What an awesome giveaway!
I have also only been reading your blog for a short while, but the minute I did I feel in love. I went back and read every single post from the beginning, my husband wondered what I was doing on the computer for hours at night.
Like most other’s have said I think my favorite is My Maddie Moo, gets me everytime. The Amazing Annabel video is a close second….I have watched it several times and it always puts a smile on my face!
Thanks for a great blog and for sharing your life with us.
P.S. I am a huge dork too!
Amy J says:
Oh how I would love to win the stay at the Hampton! That is where we like to stay when we visit my sister, but with our budget we don’t get there as often as we would like to! I think my favorite one is the one you just posted “Heather sphor is a giant dork” So funny! And I can totally relate to flats and flip flops only. But all the ladies who wear trendy heals now will be so jealous of us when we are 70 and can still walk!!
Mary Tyler S. says:

Angie Winn says:
My fav is probably My Little Maddie Moo. I love them all, but that one has stuck with me.

Annabel Exclusive

Definately My Maddie Moo

My favorite blog post of yours is definitely “Here Comes The Sun” Such a beautiful post to welcome your little Annie to the world and so fitting after everything you had been through. Plus, I LOVE that song!
Sandy says:
Oh gosh, there are so many good ones! I love all the funny stories, the heart touching stories, basically all the stories. Re-reading teh Lee Corso post has made me laugh. I also loved My Little Maddie Moo.
pilotswife97 says:
The one when you and Annabel took the red eye and met up with the drunk Billy Bush lookalike. Hilarious. The picture is the best part.
Jennifer says:
I have read your blog for over a year now–never commented but i read it almost every day. I love the way you write, and I love maddie and annie like i have met them.
It is hard to pick JUST ONE favorite, but i would have to say My most favorite blog was your “Jersey Spohr” one. it was so funny and cute i even showed my boyfriend and he loved it too!
Sara says:
Heather, I’ve been reading your blog since April 7, 2009. I didn’t know your family existed until every other blogger I follow started talking about you and Maddie that day. I was hooked. I went back through your archives, and have been reading your blog ever since then. When I sit down at my computer in the morning, your blog is the very first one I read – every single morning. I don’t even look at anything else in my reader before reading your update. It is so hard for me to pick one single post of yours that I like better than the rest. Today I’ll say “The Second Little Girl” but tomorrow I may change my mind
Nikki says:
That’s a hard questions to answer…you are such an extraordinary writer and I look forward to your blog everyday. No joke.
But if I have to choose, my favorite would be “Mark”. Very touching tribute and beautiful, along with your new tattoo for your beautiful daughter.
The Suburban Housewife says:
I love The Story of Annie’s Birth Day, because I am a sucker for birth stories.
That, and I had a similar situation when my third daughter was born. My blood pressure dropped really low, and they came rushing in and unlocked the emergency box on the wall. I ended up with two different shots of Ephedrine and some other med to get things under control. You don’t realize how scary that is until you and your spouse have been through it.
Happy early birthday! Mine was last week, and I turned the big 30.
Anna says:
Your post about your friend Jackie! Pretty inspirational. Happy Birthday!
http://thespohrsaremultiplying.com/2008/07/in-the-face-of-fear-true-beauty/
Sarah says:
My favorite was Bottled Up–I took such comfort in the fact that someone else was struggling with the exact same issues I was.
Sara Kelley says:
For My Madeline
When you wrote to Madeline this year. So sweet yet heartbreaking. My youngest was born exactly one month after Maddie, so her passing really hit close to my heart. But I really enjoy all your posts. Thanks for keeping us along for your journey.

Love that you’re able to appreciate both the similarities and differences in your two precious girls!
Katrina says:
I don’t think I could pick just one — they are all great posts. Off the top of my head, I would say the drunk shoulder sleeper guy — I would be just as horrified, but never brave enough to snap the freaked-out picture you did! Also, the return trip home where Annie met Paula Deen was such awesome redemption for a horrible flight
Kristin says:
Since you’re FORCING me to choose, I’d love Maddie and Matt Lauer. But you know that I’ve always loved your posts, no matter how hard they were to read.

Sharon H says:
All of your posts amaze me and make me feel so much.
My favorite has to be the one you wrote to Madeling for her first birthday. It’s from Novemebr 2008 and titled “Madeline”. I didn’t read your blog until after she was gone, but I poured through the archives to learn all about her and what you had gone through. And when I read that the first time I remember crying at the love you felt for her, and not just because of the way her story would be ending….
maggie says:
My favorite is the post My Little Maddie Moo. I just think it said it all. It was the most touching raw emotion. It was soooo sweet, and after having kids of my own a lot of the things you said are how I feel. She was the best gift to you as you were the best gift to her.
Natalie says:
My favorite post is My Little Maddie Moo…i remember reading that post and just sobbing. Such a great tribute to such a special little girl!
nataliejoy28@yahoo.com

(I sing that to my Madeline some nights to get her to sleep, so it’s on that level too).
You have an amazing gift with words.

Jen says:
I must say I have 2 the one about your mom “thats what she said” and the one from today — the dork one!! I love them all but I love when you have a day of being funny and I know you smiled when you wrote it!! Also I enjoy your raw emotional posts, I am a better nurse because of you!!
Emily says:
I cried when I read “Him” the other day. It was so raw and honest- I read your blog to celebrate the happy moments with you and to sorrow with you over your precious daughter. It may sound cliche, but I never want to take a moment with my little man for granted- and thanks to you I never will.
Coco says:
Any post with Maddie and Rigby and Annie’s new one where she’s doing stand up. Classic!
krissy says:
oh its got to be Here comes the sun. It was the happiest post I had seen in a while. Totally made my day!

Heather –
Good morning. I loved Annie’s last video post “An Annabel Spohr Exclusive!”
Kim H says:
My favorite one is “The converstation in the Car” Been there done that. Pleaded, begged for the baby to be okay and not be mad at me!
Beth says:
Any time I need a laugh, I can always count on “Twenty Dollar Made Me Holler”. Hilarious.
Suzie says:
I have to be honest. One of my favorite posts from is your Memorial Day post. In the midst of everything you have going on, you still took time to go to the cemetery and honor our veterans. I think that’s something that’s lost among the current generations. I remember going “cemetery stomping” with my grandparents and parents growing up and taking the time to clean the stones that were neglected, etc. I was thrilled to see someone else educating the next generation and taking time out to do what’s right for our fallen soldiers. It also made me cry thinking about Maddie and others lost. My cousin’s baby died of SIDS about the time you lost Maddie. I’ve always connected the two in my thoughts and prayers, though I never met your family or precious little Maddie.
Camie says:
Swimsuit Edition, because Maddie’s cuteness transcends anything else. That bikini! The tiny shoes! It makes me melt just thinking about it.
Maybe tied with Here Comes the Sun. Every time I hear that song I think of Annie.
Jennifer says:
After looking back through a lot…my favorite post was “It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s…” I think that video is classic.
Tanya says:
My little Maddie Moo, was my favorite post,…but i have alot of favorites….

I can’t pick a favorite of all time, but I have to say “desperate measures” had me laughing for a long time!
Jenni Sullivan says:
My favorite one is the recent one about Mike being home alone and able to eat on the couch!
Lindsay says:
I really loved reading all the posts about your pregnancies. I had a 27 week preemie in Jan ’08 and then a horribly rough pregnancy this time around (same time as you). It was great to read about someone else going through some of the same things and to read about all your feelings and know I wasn’t the only one feeling that way.
Teresa says:
Hard to pick a favorite! I’d have to say my recent favorite is “It’s A Bird! It’s A Plane! It’s…”
Crystal S says:
The parts of Madeline, def my fav.
Julie says:
Like many others Little Maddie Moo but I also loved Annabel’s interview with Mike.

It would have to be a tie between Jersey Spore – which cracked up my whole family, or the entry about using one of Annie’s diapers as an emergency because it made me feel like you were so honest and open and that crazy sutff like that happenes to everyone.
Debbie Ibarra says:
Funny way I found your site…People magazine is my guilty pleasure (I’ve got two kids)…so when I find the time to read it – I read it cover to cover…And way long ago I came across an article about Matt Logelin. I checked out his site often and when your sweet Maddie passed he mentioned it on his blog and that’s how I stumbled here.
I love reading your posts – your honesty and your emotions are so raw – this has now become my “mommy time” – checking in to see what’s going on with the Sporhs world
My favorite posts are: Bush League – the image with arrows is awesome :), then of course that blog led to A Rabbi…and another favorite post of mine is: A Tiny Distance…these are both why I love reading your blog…for your humor :)! and for your sweet, honest posts about your sweet Madeline.
Lori Dumas says:
Heather,
I love reading your blog. I found it from Matt’s blog and I found Maddie so adorable so I would check your blog out daily too. When I found out that Maddie died, I sat at my computer and cried.
If I have to pick a favorite (to enter the contest of course) I would pick “All Her Sweetness” when we saw sweet pictures of Annie! But I also love your letters to Maddie!
Thanks for the great giveaway!!
Becky says:
I LOVE the post about “Moms say the darndest things”! I must admit, I had to google most of those things…I lead a very sheltered life!;) Thanks for the opportunity to win!:)
Jennifer says:
I love all your posts! I always get to work and the first thing I do is read your blog! I really liked todays post Heather Spohr..dork! It reminds me so much of myself…I also thought I was hot back in the day and applied for “the real world”. I can’t remember the letter I sent but I am sure it was a mess!
Thanks for the contest and sharing your world with us!
caroline says:
My favorite…
“the spohrs are multiplying…” announcing “binky’s” pending arrival. full of hope and happiness but also sadness for maddie’s passing. it was a mix of every emotion.
Felicia F. says:
The spohrs are multiplying. When you announced you were expecting again, I sat and cried happy tears for you all. I read every day. I loved today’s too.
Jerilee E. says:
hmm… recently, my most favorite post was “Bush League”. I was laughing out loud and horrified all at the same time!
I always love the baby interviews, too
Lindsey says:
I actually think my favorite is the recent Imagining post you did… I don’t know you and I didn’t know Maddie, but can only imagine through your writing that is exactly how she would be – climbing, exloring, adventuring…
I hope you enjoy your birthday!
Carrie says:
My fave post was, recently, Conversation in a Car – I pinkie swear I had that happen ALL the time when my son was little. He had serious hatred for car travel!
Lori R says:
Happy birthday Heather ! Love all of your posts. Many give the gift of laughter, some have you repeating omg, while others break your heart and still others fill your heart back up again. But my recent favorite is conversations in a car. You told it so well and who hasn’t been in that situation !
Kelly says:
I have to say my favorite post was your dork one from today. I think it’s because I can totally relate, even to the scrunchy.
LAURA says:
I think your 10 dorkiest moments is one of my new faves. Seriously, it really made me laugh! Good luck at the conference, hopefully nothing silly happens that you’ll even have to add a number 11 to your dork moment list! lol
Amy K says:
I’d say my two favorites are The Spohrs Are Multiplying because it contained some much-needed good news, and My Little Maddie Moo, because it made all of us get to know your first daughter a little better, and grieve alongside you. You’re a fantastic writer.
Angi says:
Pick one? Seriously? One??? I, too, love them all. But to pick one in recent history, the wigs…yanno before it became “drama”. I loved the photos of both you and Annie in the wigs. I too love to dress up and be silly and the posts just made me giggle.
Now, since I had to pick, I’m hoping to win so I can sleep in a super awesome comfy bed.
Courtney says:
I actually enjoyed reading all the old blogs referenced in your recent “I’m a big dork, no need to be intimidated!” post. I loved all your Game Day signage. But I *really* loved “The Amazing Annabel” video a couple weeks back.
Corey Waters says:
Annie’s birth announcement. Because it was so long anticipated, and such a turning point. I wept.
Jill says:
So I am voting for Jersey Spohr. :o) Love that Snooki! BARF!
BUT, if I have to pick my favorite posts, they are the videos. CRACK.ME.UP!
Amber says:
Gone to the dogs, that day it really hit the funny bone.
Gillian says:
Well, I loved the announcement of Annie’s birth. Not much to it, but oh the excitement!
Lori Todd says:
How do I pick one. I am drawn to your site daily inspired by your writtings. But since the most recent post are the freshest in my mind it would have to be My Little Maddie Moo Moo
Thanks and have a Happy Birthday.
Stacey B says:
Favorite blog post…In the middle of the night….
Love the blog, the ups the downs, the REAL stuff…
Catherine says:
My favorite was “Here Comes the Sun”:
http://thespohrsaremultiplying.com/2010/01/here-comes-the-sun/
I think I would have equally loved a blog post announcing that Maddie was coming home, but I had not yet discovered your blog back then. But I had discovered your blog this year and I was excitedly thinking and praying for you and your new soon to be baby girl “A” (and wondering what beautiful name you and Mike picked out). So when she came (and you announced it in such a fun and happy way, leaving me humming “Here Comes the Sun” all day long), I was just so happy for you my heart could burst. After all that you and Mike have been through, I felt that you deserved that sweet little Annabelle more than anything. She really is sunshine and that song still makes me think of her and you and what a welcome and deserved blessing she is.
Linda Stewart says:
I loved Conversations In A Car. It so sounds like a conversation I would have with the boys.
QF says:
I love all of your posts. They are as real as anyone can get.
However, the newest one you have, “Heather Spohr: Giant Dork” is my favorite.
If I ever saw you, I would be scared to come talk to you. Thanks for letting us know that it’s okay to say hello
Carrie says:
I like one of your recent posts, Five Down. The pictures are just TOO cute.
Linda says:
Moms say the darndest things…….that is so me! Got such a kick out of you turning red. Shared with my kids who are19, 17, 13 so they would know they are not alone!
Heather says:
It’s hard to decide which post is my favorite. But, if I have to pick, it would be “And Now a Moment from Annabel” on March 5, 2010, in response to the “Annie’s Secret Thoughts” post. It cracks me up every time!
Michelle says:
Annie’s birth announcement. So sweet.
Courtney says:
Hi Heather,
I have been a long time reader but have never commented. One of my favorite funny posts is about Rigby and the peanut butter “Peanut Butter Filled Dog”. One of my favorite more serious posts was about insurance “Uncertainty and Insurance”. Thank you for giving me plenty of ammo for my many friends that don’t feel there is anything wrong with our healthcare system. I have also enjoyed your posts about Mike and singing at a show.
Thank you for sharing so much of your family with us.
Dawn says:
I don’t know how to chose one favorite post, but here is my favorite one that is recent
http://thespohrsaremultiplying.com/2010/06/conversations-in-a-car/
And I love it because I have had similar conversations in the car with my daughter!
Melissa says:
“Scar” http://thespohrsaremultiplying.com/2010/01/scar/
It’s horrible, awful and sad… but your heart wrenching words reminded me of my own pain.
The outside world can’t see my scars… but they are there. I see them every night when I change into my “home clothes” after a long day at work and again every morning when I jump in the shower.
Sometimes, I don’t think much about it– and sometimes, seeing my scars hit me like a ton of bricks.
Your post made me feel less weird and awkward.
Crystal says:
I love all of your posts because you speak from the heart. However one of my favorites is “Love Songs”.
Jackie M. says:
My favorite post was the day Annabel was born. It made me so happy!
Angie says:
My favorite is the Rigby peanut butter post. I thought I was the only one who hid peanut butter in strategic places!
Kelly says:
All of your posts honestly make me laugh. It’ s ritual that I read them in the morning to start my day off on a good note! But I must say I think my fav is Annie’s Music Video, followed by Rigby eating the Peanut Butter!
Lisa_in_WI says:
I would have to say “The Amazing Annabel,” and basically any other post that contains a video. You and Mike are hilarious and should get a pilot deal on one of the networks! :p
Lisa says:
Favorite post had got to be the Superhero Video of Annabel, Rigby in a pot, Annabel throwing her clothes off in her crib…. way too funny!
But also, any post with a pic of memory of Maddie. Those are the best!
Lessons at Life and Light says:
I think so far my favorite blog post was of the Amazing Annabel saving Rigby. LOL! That one killed me. In fact, I think I need to go watch it again right now…
Jennifer says:
I love your blog. I love reading your tributes to Maddie. I just looked back through some, and love Silenced, from July 31, 2009.
Love to both of your sweet girls.
Mary says:
“The Spohr’s are Multiplying – July 20, 2009 – This made me so happy for you – it is the best during what was and is the worst.
J Kilgore says:
The one about your c-section scar. I am pregnant with my 2nd and often look loving at the scar from my 1st and can’t imagine how it will be different come February.
Lisa says:
Heather – I have been reading your blog daily for the last year and a half and it is clearly not possible for me to pick a favorite post! I have so enjoyed getting to know you, Mike, Maddie, Annabel and Rigby! Your blog is a “must read” for me every morning!
Kristabella says:
I love all your posts. But one of my favorites was the one with Maddie and the fake MasterCard. I always think of it and it makes me smile!
I also love when you write raw posts, like the one you just wrote about the doctor, Him.
Melissa M. says:
I love them all! I really love all the videos of your beautiful girls but my favorite is definitely The Amazing Annabel.
BethT says:
OK, my new official favorite post is the Corso vs Spohr post, which I had never read before today…but it is officially awesome.
Michelle says:
Okay, I have to say that my most favorite post recently (there have been so many great posts), was the post about the drunk guy on the plane, and then the second post about the trip back with Paula Dean. Made me laugh. Oh, and I’m not going to lie, the post Mike did about the time you were gone made me pee a little. I’m such a dork!
Stephanie says:
I enjoyed the series where Annabel was born. I was at a funeral that weekend, and when I briefly checked your blog, I was surprised and elated that the baby had been born healthy. I celebrated with you from far away.
Kim says:
There are so many posts of yours I love but my new favorite is Super Giant Dork. I don’t know if I could post my top ten reasons I’m a dork but I am so there you go. Your blog has brought me to tears and made me spit diet coke out my nose. Thanks for sharing your story.
Faith says:
Mom’s say the darndest things! Totally cracked me up!
Beth says:
My Maddie Moo…so touching. I like so many though, the target bathing suit buying incident and when the respiratory specialist lied to you are other favorites…I enjoy when you rage against the man.
Jalene says:
All your posts are great, from the ones that you share your soul to the ones where you make me laugh. If I had to pick one it would be My Maddie Moo.
Sara says:
I liked the dork one, probably because it’s the most recent, and I shamely can relate to a few on there (Hello, Litte Couple…are they so cute??!)
Mary says:
For laughs i liked the one about your mother saying the darndest things — I think I like your mom. I also like how you handled the wig controversy with grace.
Ali says:
all your posts are so great, it’s hard to pick just one. but if i must, i would choose “Desperate Measures.”
karen t. says:
Well I love any with videos of your cutie pie daughters but my fave is probably the one where you had your coworkers go to target with you on your birthday!
Teri says:
My favorite is Here Comes The Sun, of course!
Laurie says:
Kids Moms Say The Darndest Things is my favorite because that is SO my mom. She is Italian (born and lived there until 16 when her family immigrated to America) and I LOVE when she uses am American saying but says it slightly wrong. “Its a blessing in costume” when she really means disguise. I blame it on her thinking in Italian and translating it as the words come out of her mouth!
She’s the best though! Gotta love moms
Mary says:
My Little Maddie Moo, so touching! Though I love the funny Heather too! It’s hard to choose!
Kay says:
I like all of your posts. I read your blog every day and feel like I know you just from following your blog. What an awesome giveaway!!!
Elizabeth says:
My favorite post (this was a really hard choice by the way) was….Commencement.
Nicole A says:
My favorite was the one with Annie in the wigs!! But I really like them all!
Melissa says:
I love all of your posts…the deep ones, the light ones…reading your blog is a staple of my morning!
But if I have to choose one, the post that sticks out most in my mind is the Matt Lauer post of Maddie. Heather, that makes me laugh EVERY time I see Maddie’s adorable little face looking at pictures of him on the laptop. How you thought to do that just proves how awesome you are!
Melissa says:
I love the post about rigby and the peanut butter. What a funny dog:) I also loved the post discussion between you and mike about eating the leftovers from the restaurant you choose.
Anne says:
I’m a big fan of It’s A Bird…It’s A Plane but for a non-Annie related post my favorite is The Moon Never Beams Without Bringing Me Dreams. This was REALLY hard to choose!
Bon says:
There are so many, but one of my favorites is: “The Rumors are True” about you not having ANY stretchmarks. Now that I’m entering my 8th month, I’m hoping to somehow have inherited yours & your Mom’s genes. What? It could happen.
Sara Cameron says:
My little Maddie Moo will always be the favorite. Always.
Stacey says:
Hard choice… but Confession: Meals rings true to me. I have so much in common with this post…
Allison M. says:
I have waaaaay too many favorites so I will narrow it down to June 2010 posts only. My favorite this month has been:
“Moms Say The Darndest Things”
Tara Chapman says:
I have to say I am loving the Giant Dork post. Here is why…My middle son has broken 3 toilets. THREE (and he is only 4 years old!)!!! We are building a home and were talking to the plumbing suplier about the toilets and we were asking how strong the tanks were and he said he had never heard of anyone breaking a toilet. Made us feel REALLY stupid…I am so glad that someone else has a busted toilet tank story. Oh…The first time he broke a tank was when we were first potty training him. He wouldn’t go near the toilet without screaming for 6 months. It was terrible for our potty training! LOL
Jennifer says:
I love all of your posts and check your website daily! I have 2 favorites. I love “Commencement” as I also had a preemie at 29 weeks and can remember the day we were able to take him home after 11 weeks in the hospital. After weeks of worry and agony, you finally get to take your baby home and act like a “normal” family. I also love “My Little Maddie Moo” as it is one of the most touching things I have ever read. Thanks for sharing your family with all of us!
Kristin says:
The post about where you hide PB in the couch…I’ll never forget that.
Ashley says:
http://thespohrsaremultiplying.com/2009/04/my-little-maddie-moo/
The post of your talk at Maddie’s funeral. I cry everytime I read it, but Heather, it really makes me grateful for the little one’s in my life. I may or may not be crying while typing this because I don’t understand how you do it. I am so happy I found your blog and appreciate your love and honesty when it comes to your family.
Thank you.
Amanda Gambill says:
Okay, so I just read your post about Corso and it was hilarious!!! I loved it!!! I can’t wait to see what sign you greet him with next! lol!
sensibly sassy says:
I love any and all of the Annabel videos, they seriously make my day!

Andrea says:
Oh wow there are too many to choose from BUT if I have to I will say My Little Maddie Moo. Hope you have an awesome weekend!!
Cathy says:
DEFINITELY “Here Comes The Sun” – when you officially announced Annie’s birth. Still gives me shivers and wells me up when I think about the beauty and poetry of that post.
That said…just about ALL of your posts make me shivery and “welly.”
Jamie M says:
My favorite post is How To Ruin Your Diet In Six Easy Steps. Not because there was anything spectacular about it (but all your posts rock!!!), but because that was the last post you made before your life changed forever. There is a certain innocence to it and I love that. Much love to you guys!
cathi beers says:
Oh, all of them! I read every day and love that you have something to post every day. I have a lot of other blogs bookmarked but even one of the most popular ones (starts with a d) doesn’t even post every day! You rock!
RC says:
Cool giveaway! All of your posts are great, but I really enjoy the video posts where Annie talks.

So many of your posts are great.

Beth and Melinda says:
i love the amazing annabel
Jennifer P says:
I liked the Annie in the city one because of the cute pics of Annie in various spots in her stroller. I also liked the Peanut Butter Eating Dog one. Too funny.
Jennifer says:
My fav of recent is Moms say the darndest things. Your mom thought she was being so freaky fresh!! I was nearly in tears laughing so hard at how cool and with it she thought she was being. Each of your blog entries is worth reading over and over. Just like watching Little People, Big World or the Little Couple over and over. Take care! Jenn
Katie says:
I loved both of your posts on teething (the most recent one and the one where you tested out different fixes on Maddie). So funny to read as I am currently going through teething at my house right now!
samantha jo campen says:
Maddie and Matt Lauer FOR SURE OMG.

jen says:
153 holes in my heart.
not in a “my FAVORITE!” kind of way … but in a wow-that-post-captured-me and kept-me-coming-back kind of way.
Jes says:
My favorite post was the one when you talked about the tough decision that needs to be made in your house… who the girls would root for between the Giants & Dodgers.
I think it is very brave of you to marry a Giants fan and allow your children the opportunity to make this decision on their own. But when it comes down to it I know Annie will make the right choice… BEAT LA!
Bridget says:
Hi Heather!
My favorite posts of yours are the Rigby related posts. My most recent favorite was the Peanut Butter Jar debacle he got himself into!! No more PB hiding in the couch! LOL.
Thanks,
Bridget
Wendy says:
Club Mix, While She Was Sleeping, I Had A Little Dreidel & Here Comes The Sun are my favorites.
SUSAN SPARKS says:
Hi Heather! Well, I’ve tried and tried to pick my favorite blog entry and I just can’t do it! I have to tell you each of you entries have touched my life in some way. Kelly says:
I don’t know that I can pic a favorite, but I have to say the Amazing Annabelle is one of them. I love your blog and am a faithful reader.
Would love to win either of the prizes!

My Little Maddie Moo.
Also – For My Madeline.
They both bring tears to my eyes. Moms are lucky.

How does one choose??? I guess I will go with a funny one….
My favorite one was when you had the ice cream coupon and you made Mike go out and get ice cream…and you licked the bowl at the end! hahaha!!
(((HUGS)))
Krystal says:
My favorite video has to be The Amazing Annabell video. I showed it to my three year old and she thought it was so hilarious she literally talked about it for days and asking to see it over and over. So Im pretty sure like 50 hits to the video on youtube are from us lol!
SJ says:
I couldn’t just pick one? I start my day listening to your words and thought. Though, the last movie of A was really cute! May become my favorite soon!

My Little Maddie Moo…it makes me cry, everytime, because it is beautiful.
Kristin says:
Honestly, any post of yours is my favorite. I love your blog, read it daily. I have laughed, I have smile, and I have bawled like a baby. Love it all!
Skye says:
My favorite is “You Are Real” from January. The love you express for the then-unborn Annabel is so amazing. It’s sweet how you want to share Maddie with her, but care so much about making her feel just as special. It made me cry because you are truly an amazing mother and I am so happy that you and Annie have each other.
Rah says:
It would be awfully hard to pick a single favorite, but I really liked the recent one wherein you called your doctor’s bedside manner into question. Sometimes people just need to be told the impact they’re having on other very vulnerable people.
Thank you!
Days says:
I have been reading your blog forever. My favourite post is any one that shows up in my feed reader in the morning but I am partial to your posts that have chronicled Rigby’s relationship with your sweet girls.

My favorite is “Peanut Butter Filled Dog,” posted on March 24, 2010. First, it was posted on my birthday! Second, the pictures of the peanut butter jar with doggy tongue tracks followed by poor Rigby with an upset doggy belly get me every time!

Here Comes the Sun

Keri says:
My favorite post is the one where you flashed the nail salon– so incredibly funny:-)!!
I love your blog and find you so inspiring and strong!
Sabrina says:
I would vote the supero hero video posts. Because your baby is adorable. My husband always watches them with me and says “She’s SO CHUBBY” and then giggles like a little child. He loves him some fat babies, and hopes someday I’ll give him one as chunk as yours!
Denise says:
I have loved everyone I have read – be it sad, funny or just being. I find that I take something away from all of your posts – even though it takes me awhile to digest some.
Jennifer says:
My favorite post of all time is Blackout –> http://thespohrsaremultiplying.com/2009/08/blackout/
I honesty LOLed at this post, probably because I could have written it myself. I also turn into a human pincushion during pregnancy – tons of blood draws, Lovenox, Heparin toward the end… fun!
But never have I looked at all the needles and fainting with the same humor as you. You’re a talented writer!!
Adrienne S. says:
At the moment it’s “The Story of Annie’s Birth Day” I’m 27 weeks pregnant with our first baby so right now I can’t get enough birth stories…no matter how terrifying some may be!
MJ says:
I love all your posts, but if I have to choose one, it would be Heather Spohr: Giant Dork. Because I am a dork, too, and there are people out there who probably find me intimidating. My husband used to, before he was my husband. Now he knows I’m a dork.
Christa says:
I have many favorites but one of my all time favs has to be last weeks video ‘An Annabel Spohr Exclusive’
Jess says:
I love reading your blog. It is hard to pick a favorite, but I really like the one about Rigby and the peanut butter incident, which is saying a lot because I hate peanut butter. When my husband eats the stuff I make him sit on the other side of the room from me because of the smell!
Jaisa says:
I just started reading not to long ago, I did go back and start almost from the beginning but most recently I loved the Amazing Annabel Video. I also thought your recent Imagine post was sweet and made me tear up…
The bedding would really be appreciated around here as right now we have a mix and match sheet set… the only few pieces that have not been stained by our beautiful babes
Audrey says:
It’s really hard for me to choose just one of your posts that would be my favorite–I think it’s the combination of your lighthearted posts with your serious ones that makes this blog so special and so interesting to read.
I read “A Lesson in Bedside Manner” when you linked to it recently and I thought it was really important. I made my boyfriend who is in medical school read it and he also really appreciated it.
Meredith says:
Love reading your blog! Awesome coincidence that you chose the name Violet – as Annie was born on my niece’s birthday (18 years later). She was named Violet!
Rhea says:
“Moms says the darndest things” was so funny because my mom does the exact same thing. Loved that post!
Sarah Lena says:
Get ready for how incredibly lame this is: my favorite post is “A Thousand Words” from June of ’09, because it made me swear to take more pictures of my friends’ kids. You never know when those pictures will be worth more than the camera they’re taken with, yanno?
Rian Curley says:
I loved the techno-beats music video starring the ever-adorable Annabel. Cracked me up and I made everyone in my office watch it. Happy pre-birthday Heather!
Joy says:
I loved “An Annabel Spohr Exclusive”, you even got your dad involved!
Jessica says:
In order to enter your contest I have spent the last hour re-reading most of your posts. Now I sit in front of my computer laughing and crying at the same time.
Thank you for bringing us lucky enough to have found your blog along on this roller coaster ride with you.
The post that I could read again and again is the one when Annabell was born..
gina says:
i love all your posts so much but the most recent one was the annabelle interview rigby and annie are adorable and your dad was so funny happy birthday
Jennifer Fetterman says:
My absolute favorite .. had me in stitches … was the post that outed Maddie’s absolute love for Matt Lauer. It just so happens that I love him too!
Mylene says:
I loved Jersey Spohr, and all baseball-related posts with pictures of your adorable girls. Nothing like a healthy athletic-team-rivalry in a family.
Nellie says:
Pretty much your latest one, for that photo alone. Oh my god, I’m pretty sure I just did that LAST WEEK and I’m 23.
Heather says:
Well, I was going to say the one where you gave us a teaser of Annie’s name with the A on your wall. I loved all the people’s guesses. But after just reading it, I have to change to the just referenced football signage banning post. Awesome!
Meg says:
My favorite post is All Her Sweetness. I love to read your writing, but new baby pictures! It doesn’t get any better than that.

Alexis says:
I love them all. But Memorial is my most recent favorite.
Laura says:
I am fairly new to your blog and really enjoy following Anabelle’s progress. I really loved the post on wigs.
Angel says:
Hard to choose a favorite but recently, I super enjoyed the Conversations in the Car. That is SO my life!! One day my son was screaming his head off in the car, while in traffic. Like the kind of screaming that insult your spinal cord, for 10 minutes non-stop. My husband calmly turned to me and said, that river bank way down there looks pretty darn good right about now. He meant he wanted me to pull a Thelma and Louise! I almost freaked out for a split second and then had to laugh because it was one of those briefly insane moments that all parents have.
Jane says:
Ok – my favor may now be Heather Spohr – Giant Dork. The pic – Priceless!!!!
Happy upcoming Birthday!
Melissa says:
It has to be…Here comes the sun
Janessa says:

I admit that I was hard pressed to pick my FAVORITE blog post, but I think this one made me LOL the hardest…http://thespohrsaremultiplying.com/2008/05/teenagers-obscene-letter-of-love/
I could have peed myself while reading that letter, that is dangerous, Heather Spohr!
Jess says:
The Spohr’s are Multiplying–when you announced “binky” was on her way. Cried and cried. Your strength is incredible dear family. Thank you for being a light in my day.
Chantelle @ photo mommy says:

I just read the post about Lee Corso today and laughed out loud.
I cried when Maddie passed and when Annie was born. You and Mike are truly and inspiration.
therese says:
Okay, it’s so hard to pick my favorite post. I look forward to your updates every day and always enjoy what you write. Of your recent work, I really love the post about your mom and her funny sayings. It reminded me a lot of my mom and it was hilarious.
Jamie says:
My Little Maddie Moo is my most favorite of all your posts. Although I love love all of your posts. I really appreciate the time you take to keep updating daily, it’s a lot of work!
Darcie says:
It’s hard to pick a favorite – pretty much anything where you guys make videos! I laugh so hard (and my co-workers think I’ve finally gone off the deep end!) every time there’s a video post!
Emily says:
I have two favorites – on the serious side, it was your post to Maddie right after her death. on the uplifting/funny side, it has to be annie’s superhero video.
love your blog, it’s my daily read
Kristi says:
I do love the “My Little Maddie Moo” entry. Cried my heart out! I also love “It’s a Bird, It’s a Plane…”. Laughed my heart out!
I also thoroughly enjoyed your posts about the cleaning ladies short-sheeting your bed, the lady at the make-up counter thinking you were Maddie’s grandma and the lady at Target giving you a hard time about losing your baby weight. Those posts were hilarious and I loved that you had the confidence to share stuff like that.
I’m glad you are a “real” person without false pretenses.
Oh, I almost forgot the post about the chicks in the bathroom at the restaurant in AZ. Actually, I think that was part of one of the other three hilarious posts listed above.
Annie says:
I study hotel management and know all about these new products, and I would LOOOVE to have them for myself!!!
This is really kind of self-centered, but my favorite post is Annie’s birth announcement. I was actually really excited that she and I share the same name!
Melissa says:
Top three (I can’t narrow it down to just one) are “My Little Maddie Moo”, “Scar” and “Here Comes The Sun…”. But I agree with what others have said here, all of your posts are wonderful. I look forward to reading them each and every morning.
You are an amazing person and an amazing Mom. Happy Birthday on Sunday!
Mom in MN says:
Stand-Up Girl
Candice says:
My Little Madie Moo was def my fav. There are so many parts that stand out to me:
How she was embarassingly beautiful.
How she selected her Abby Cadaby doll.
How she made her mark with her LIFE.
And most of all the last line: “You will always be the daughter I always wanted.”
I’m crying buckets over here…you truly have a way with words.
Jannette says:
Here are my top 5 (in no particular order). There is no way I could ever choose between them:
1. My little Maddie Moo
2. Blue and Gold
3. 153 Holes in the heart
4. Here comes the sun
5. Imagining
They all make me cry and reflect. Each one has a line that I often repeat to myself.
Rachel says:
My favorite post is “The Perfect Name”. It was one of the first posts I read. I love hearing stories about how people chose names for their children.
I was delighted when I read that you named your daughter Annabel. I have always wanted to name my daughter (if I ever had one) Annabel. I’ve been hooked on your blog ever since!
wordygirl says:
My favourite post is: I Can Do It For Her.
It’s really hard for me to pick a favourite post of yours, because you are such an incredible and powerful writer. And so many of your entries make me cry, either happy or sad tears. EVERYTHING here is nothing short of amazing – but if I have to pick one (and apparently I do!) this is it.
Sharon says:
How can I pick a favorite? There are so many fabulous posts! I cried all through the video on “My Little Maddie Moo” and LMAO through “A Teenager’s Obscene Letter of Love.” Read you every day, though and love them all.
Kate says:
Honestly, my favorite blog post is the one you linked to today, about your teddy bear Theodora. Why? Because I am 26 years old and I still sleep with my baby blanket, Bessie. I have had her since before I was born and she has been through everything with me — broken hearts, boys, moves, college, deaths in the family, really hard times. She’s about to move on with me to law school.
People don’t understand it, generally, and think it’s bizarre.
As I am a non-parent, I sometimes have a hard time relating to some of your posts, but that post? I relate to 110% and it makes me feel like less of a freak.
So. Yeah.
That’s my favorite, now.
(Previously, it was the one with the SUPER ANNABEL video because I watched in an airport and laughed my head off.)
Sonja says:
Going to have to say My little Maddie Moo as well. But honestly, I love all of your posts. Thanks lady!
Lona says:
I really, really loved your post on Rigby the peanut butter thief, because I have a dog who does similar things and that post came at a time when I was starting to be terrified to wake up and see the damage at my house!
Hazel says:
My favorite post has to be Amazing Annabel but the one about Corso is pretty funny too!
Kate says:
I loved the one where you styled Maddie’s hair a couple of different ways and snapped pictures (checking back… yep, “No Wigs Or Babies Were Harmed”). Her facial expressions in that post are priceless!
Whitney says:
Happy early birthday, Heather! You share a birthday with my mother, who’s name is also Heather.
I had a very hard time picking my favorite but it was so fun to go back and re-read them. I love the post when you introduced us to Maddie’s little friend, Abby Cadabby.
NeCole Scott says:

My favorite has got to be your recent post, Heather Spohr: Giant Dork.

My favourite blog post of yours is when you introduced Annabel Violet Spohr. I was just a blubber of tears after reading it. I knew how much hope, joy, and love was surrounding your family that night.

Christen says:
My fave post is “Here comes the Sun.” I had been so patiently waiting for that little bundle of joy. I will never forget my excitement, happiness, sadness, joy, and the host of other emotions I had during that moment I read the post of Annie birth. She was a long awaited perfect gift from Heaven!
mmk says:
My Little Maddie Moo is my favorite post. it’s just so beautifully written & so full of love.
Mary says:
Hmm…this is a tough one! I love all your posts, but I guess my fave right now is The Amazing Annabel & the Missing Puppy caper…my 16 mo old niece loves watching Annie fight crime!!!
Jenny says:
Gosh it’s so hard to pick just one. I LOVE the blog on April Fool’s Day about switching up your dad’s PB. It also was one of the last blog (or THE last blog) before Maddie got sick for the last time. So it sticks in my head as a happy, carefree time. There are too many to chose from and that one just popped into my head! I LOVE your blog. Your are real and honest and it has been a honor to share the ups and downs of mothering, loss, pregnancy, and love with you through the blog.
Much love!
Lauren says:
It is hard to choose just one, as this blog is my daily entertainment, but I go back and reread The Mark often.
Jenna says:
Mine is also Here Comes the Sun, the post announcing Annabel’s birth. The Matt Lauer/Maddie post is another favorite.
Michelle M. says:
You have made so many great posts that envoke the entire spectrum of human emotion that is impossible for me to pick one post. I enjoy reading them all. Thank you for sharing so much of yourself and your family. I can totally relate to the Dork post today though. Have a wonderful birthday!
Maria says:
I started reading from the beginning because I needed to know someone else had experienced what I was going through with rough pregnancy and premature twins…. but it wasn’t until Maddie Moo that your family really stuck with me, forever.
Laurie SL says:
My favorite (hard choice, but this one came to mind first) was your post where you had a “tampon fail” after dinner out. That one made me laugh, and laugh, and laugh!

I loved the Mad Lauer post. Maddie’s faces were priceless and I still remember my own first crush! Too cute!
Karen C. says:
I loved The Second Little Girl – so great to hear about Annie’s happy arrival. Also Corso vs. Spohr – so funny and I love the GameDay signs!

That sort of thing isn’t supposed to happen to anyone but me. Seriously. I laughed out loud reading that post. Sorry.
I also have really enjoyed Annabel’s recent short films lately. She is a star!

Mel says:
“Toilets are Tricky” I have this issue , too and usually in places I frequent! My husband always tells me I should be a tester for Consumer Reports because I can break anything. After a year my husband finally has a job, but at 1/2 the pay and this would be our vacation. I hope I win.
robyncz says:
My favorite post is easily Maddie Moo.
I also love all the posts about Annabel. She’s such a beautiful, happy baby.
Happy Birthday, Heather.
Cassandra says:
My favorite would have to be either the one of Maddie and her hair (with the blonde wig that looked sooo real!) or the great teething test with all the adorable pictures of baby Maddie (especially the one where she’s holding the baby drugs! )
Sarah L says:
My favorite is “In the Middle of the Night”. It reminds me so much of something my husband would do.
Angela says:
March of Dimes Speech is my favorite. I’m always in awe of your strength and bravery.
Jen T. says:
I’m still a fairly new reader getting caught up on all the old posts, but I liked when you recently referenced this one, “The Great Teething Test” – all those photos of Maddie trying the different teething remedies. So cute, she totally cooperated for you!
Rachel Whitten says:
I would have to say the post about the nurse who was with you and helped you through Maddie’s passing. It was very touching, and definitely well written.
Sarah says:
I love all the posts where you talk about your daughters Since I have to pick a favorite tho I have to pick "My Little Maddie Moo"
Melissa says:
My favorite blog post of yours was “The Spohrs Are Multiplying” posted on July 20, 2009.
I had been following your blog since it’s beginning, and I was almost at the end of my pregnancy when I read this post. I can’t describe how happy and hopeful it made me for you, Mike and your family when I read it. I cried openly at work, and remember going home and telling all of my friends and family about it. As I followed you through your pregnancy, Annabel’s birth, and her first few months, I felt connected to you in a special way. As soon as I would finish a stage with my daughter, Rylee, it would begin for you and Annabel. Even though we are not friends, i feel like our girls are growing up together!
Karen says:
My fave post was the one telling everyone Annabel was born. It was such a hope-filled moment for me, and really touched me. You have a wonderful family.. all five of you (including Rigby!)
M in NYC says:
I have a lot of favorites! Yours is the first site I go to everyday. My most recent favorite is bottled-up.

Mitzi says:

kerrie says:
Gotta tell you – I think the Corso one is now one of my favorites…for funny reasons. But you’ve written so many beautiful things – it’s hard to pick just one!
Ashley G says:
All of your posts are great, but I got a kick out of this one: A Rabbi, Doris Roberts, And Paula Deen Walk Onto A Plane…
Mary says:
Can I change my mind & add Imagining to my list of faves? Made me cry…
Yvette says:
Maddie marches down Wilshire Blvd was my favorite.
Nicole says:
My favorite entry that I’ve read (so far, I started following you about a year ago and have been trying to read from the very beginning little by little) is “What’s in a name” written 10/29/07. I have a similar relationship with my grandfather, who is currently terminally ill with esophogeal cancer. I admire and love him so, that my husband and I have decided that his name (Joe) will be our daughter’s middle name (Jo) as I’m currently 32 weeks pregnant. I hope that she can grow up to have a fraction of the personality, determination and compassion of my grandpa and it breaks my heart that he won’t be around to see her grow or for her to know like I do.
LindsayB says:
My favorite is “An Annabel Spohr Exclusive”
Alison says:
OH MAN. How do you expect us to pick just one? I’m going to have to say all the posts that fall under the category of “Heather and/or Mike doing hilarious things with their children.” There are plenty of other posts, sad, happy, poignant, etc., that I love too though.
xoxo
Amy D says:
My favorite to date, which still makes me happy to read, is “Here Comes the Sun” for so many very obvious reasons! Annabel’s first arrival post, The Beatles off of Rubber Soul…a good combo!
Lex (@laprimera) says:
It’s really tough to pick out one favorite post of yours. The Annie monthly photos I look forward to. As well as the videos. I also loved Maddie Moo. And this one – http://thespohrsaremultiplying.com/2010/01/the-parts-of-madeline/
xoxo
p.s. Hampton Inn is my total number one choice in places to stay. I looove their beds.
Kristen says:
I love the post about your mom and how she tries to use cool slang but ends up using it the wrong way. So funny! And it’s exactly what my mom does!!!!

Laura says:
The one where Mike was changing Annabel while watching the Giants game. That could definitely happen in our house … except it would be me and the Red Sox.

I loved the Matt Lauer post. Too funny!
Tracy says:
As of now, my favorite post is that one about Lee Corso…
LeAnn says:
About Hulk Hogan not washing his hands! Def the best! Love you Heather Moo!
Kelley says:
Honestly? I don’t have a favorite. From My little Maddie Moo to Annie’s Tv Debut, you just have too many posts that make me laugh, cry, and just love you and your family. Cop out? Maybe, but I can’t chose a favorite. That’s like choosing a favorite book or movie (which just can’t be done).
But I so want to win this. I have an anniversary coming up and this would be spectacular!
Colleen says:
I have two favs. One is Known and the other is about Rigby and your Peanut butter jar.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

A post so full of hope..I could really relate. Beautiful.

Lisa says:
I think my favorite was Bush League. The visuals were too funny!
Chrystal says:
It would have to be “Conversations in the Car” I have found myself there A LOT with my diva of a daughter Madelyn.
Alexis says:
i have two–“all her sweetness”–the post with beautiful pictures of newborn Annie.
and “mad lauer” so funny!
Rebecca says:
I totally want to win this because *I* have not had a vacation since…before I was pregnant with my first child who is now 5. Even if we just drive down the street to sleep overnight in the one down the road, it’s a night of not making the beds, and not doing all the ‘normal’ cleaning stuff that I normally do…..*Crosses Fingers For ME to win*
Wasn’t there a post where you dashed into some botique hid behind a rack of clothes and used one of Annie’s diapers to pee in? Or something about starting your period in it or something? That one had me laughing myself out of my chair!
Lea says:
My all time favorite is the anatomy of a christmas card! It was so creative and cute! And my newest favorite is Annie’s super baby video! So funny!
stuckinmypedals says:
My favorites posts lately are I’m Pretty Sure Mike is Wrong and Mike’s Rebuttal. Sounded just like conversations my husband and I would have.
Gabby says:
Hi Heather
I LOVE all of your blog posts BUT I really really love the ones where you talk about Maddie There is something special when you talk about her.
Also, I really enjoyed the IMAGINING blog post and how you put your heart out there for us, the internet.
BTW, Annie is gorgeous! *(and Rigby too) All of u…
shelley says:
like many others here, my fave is probably little maddie moo.
shelley
Michelle says:
It’s so hard to pick a favorite! I remember when you posted My Little Maddie Moo though because I had just had my first baby (a girl!) not too long before that and I remember looking at my daughter after reading it and thinking that I was going to be the best mother ever and I was going to make sure every day of her life is the best day ever. It really touched and inspired me.
Anna says:
I know it sounds weird, but I really found comfort when I lost my job a few times ago and randomly happened upon your blog when I was googling Unemployment form numbers to try and find help filling it out – that being said, http://thespohrsaremultiplying.com/2008/10/ui-application-de-1101i/ is my favorite blog of yours!
Heather says:
I have 2 recent favs.
1. It’s A Bird, It’s A Plane, It’s …..
My kids & I have watched that one a few times. I love that you are making cute videos, with your family. Those are great memories that you will have forever.
2. Imaging.
When I read your blogs about Maddie it always brings a tear to my eye. I couldn’t ever Imagine what you feel, how you get through life one day at a time without your precious Maddie. I pray for you daily & wish I could do more to heal your pain & take away your tears.
THANK YOU for your blog, for your time, for your emotions, your honesty. It makes me hug, snuggle & love my 3 precious kids even more.
God bless you & your family!
Lisa says:
I have to pick one!?! There are different ones I like for different reasons. The one I have referenced the most though is “What Do You Say” I think it is amazingly well written and has so much truth. As for making me laugh, oh my, too many, but “Kids Moms Say the Darndest Things” was too funny.
Erin says:
I am guessing a lot of people will say this: it’s Madeline’s love for Matt Lauer. I remember the first time I read it; I laughed so hard I cried. Oh, that horrified look on her face when she got busted looking at him shirtless! I am laughing now, just thinking about it!
googiemomma says:
oh man..so many…my little maddie moo, imagining….of course, the announcement of Annie’s birth made me cry….
thanks for the great giveaway!
Dee Dee says:
My favorite post is the one you recently made regarding the physician that you now dislike so much. I have been a nurse for 18 years and despise physicians who have no bedside manner! My current pediatrician was chosen by me because I personally witnessed him cry like a baby 19 years ago when I was in nursing school because on of his patients with terminal cancer passed away on the pediatrics unit I was doing clinicals in. That is a real man and a real good doctor in my opinion. Many are afraid to speak up about poor bedside manner and I appreciate you taking a stand!
Joy Springer says:
Definitely the teething remedies post on Maddie.
Happy Birthday!!!
Joy
julie says:
i love the one about your husband not be allowed to eat on the couch and the about the dog and the peanut butter jar
Bailey says:
My Maddie Moo. I just teared up reading it again,

I love the series of pictures where you can watch Annabel grow. She is so adorable, and I agree with you, Maddie would have been a proud big sister.
Heather says:
I love all of your posts, but my newest favorite is the interview done with the amazing Annabel! That was perfection! =)
BeccaSaun84 says:
Oh geez- it’s so hard to pick! You and mike are hi-larious, so it’s not easy…
It’d have to be somewhere between the day you announced you were pregnant with Annabel (I cried. Seriously.) or the Jersey Spohr one. (*LOL!*)
gerry says:
I love all of your posts, they are so moving and touching. You write in a way that you make us, your readers, feel like they know you. I especially love the posts about Maddie and now Annie.
Laney says:
The one I always go back to, the one I have re-read the most often is “My Little Maddie Moo.”
Such a beautiful testament to you as a mother and Maddie as a daughter and all the beautiful things that live in the space between.
Your writing and your daughter are both magical and there’s no greater example of both than in that post.
Caren Drink says:
You have written so many beautiful things…. but My Little Maddie Moo is such an aching post filled with suck love and sorrow.
sam marbut says:
Now this is just cruel!!! How on Earth can someone choose just one of your posts as their favorite. I love ALL of your video posts the best … those of both Maddie and Annie !!! The one post that has made me cry the most (because many of your posts dredge up emotion) was the April 7 2010 My Madeleine post …. LOVELY tribute!!!
Kenna says:
“Here Comes The Sun”….. cuz after everything else, how could it not be?
Kimme says:
I have always liked Scar. The sentiments in that post are sentiments the parallell my own. It was very poignant and well written.

Ashley says:
I liked your post about your mom–Moms Say the Darndest Things. Reminded me of my family…
Deb Hauer says:
I don’t know which is my “favorite” as I like a lot of them. I would have to say the honesty in the last one titled Heather Spohr: Giant Dork. I used to think I was the only one that ever screwed up. Now I know I have friends!!!!
I also really like The Moozer Cruiser from March 13, 2009. The look in Maddies face when she looked up at you the first time says it all!
Kayla Payeur says:
My favorite…by far was: Kids Moms Say The Darndest Things. TOO FUNNY and boy could I relate!
Casey says:
I love the post about Doris Roberts and Paula Deen! Oh, and the Rabbi

I have to say that your Maddie Moo post was just beautiful. You are so eloquent with your words, and the slide show was such a touching tribute to your beautiful Maddie, because it displayed nothing but happy moments!
Michelle says:
I love the post Imagining. It is the same thing I wonder about my two children I lost before my miracle. It is good to know I am not alone in being happy for the child you have now, but never forgetting and always wondering what could have been.
Cinthia says:
My favorite is the post where Madde is singing into her breathing treatment machine, but I forgot what that was called. My second favorite was the “anatomy of a Christmas card”. I always loved those posts where you’d have Maddie and Rigby as your partners in crime and you’d take pictures and tell a story with it. It’s the reason I started reading this site!
I era
Tauni says:
I think my favorite post recently was “Him”. I guess the best reason for “why?” would be…I see you are human! So many times I read and think..man she is a saint, gone through so much and doing great. Seeing that you still struggled with “Him” and what he did helped me see that you are after all human…but a good one that takes the high road!
Stacey Mott says:
How to choose a favorite! Recently I like “I’m Pretty Sure Mike is Wrong” Mainly cause it reminds me of my husband and myself, we go through the same routine over and over…oh and I think I should win cause my daugher’s birthday is on the 27th too!!! And she would love a new bed
Jaden says:
The best I can do is give you two of my favorite recent posts, because god, it would take me literally all day to pick my favorite of all time! I love your writing style… so recently, my favorites have been “Stand Up Girl” and “A Rabbi, Doris Roberts, and Paula Deen Walk Onto a Plane…” Thanks for the chance, winning either of these would be A-mazing!
Joanna says:
Stand up girl…I loved that one. I was having a bad day, and it just made me giggle!
MandyJ says:
Recently, I loved your “Imagining” post. All your reminising about your Maddie gets me gong though. I also LOVE all the videos of Annie doing her thing!
Monica says:
I think my favorite was the one about your Mom and how she says words wrong all the time. My Mom died last summer and she would always mispronounce words.
I have been touched by so many of your writings.
Thank you for sharing your world with us.
Rachel says:
I love Annie’s birth announcement, but I also love the monthly updates on Annie where she is sitting with the Maddie doll and the alphabet blocks
Kari says:
Love to read your blog! You almost always brighten my day!
Leah B says:
My favorite post recently [too many in the past to name] was actually Mike’s Dad’s Day Off. It is exactly how I feel when my husband is gone – I somehow miss watching all the random TV he loves to watch. Plus, hearing how Mike missed you both was so sweet.
Thanks for the chance at this giveway – it would be awesome to win!
Tracy says:
Oy, what a hard decision… because I’m so humored today, I’m going to go with one of the posts I think is super funny. Toilets are Tricy Machines. It cracks me up everytime you mention it.
Maureen McClintock says:
By far my favorite blog was My Little Maddie Moo. I cried for you and for Maddie and your family when I read it. What a touching post. I lost my sister a year ago and although it is nothing like losing your own child, it is hard and you put into words what so many people feel. Your blog always makes me smile, cry and even laugh. Thank you!
Susan M. says:
I loved your post “A Rabbi, Doris Roberts and Paula Deen Walk Onto a Plane…” Coupled with your recount of your psycho seat mate it made me laugh Thanks for the chance!
Claire says:
The one I love best is the one where you told
your embarrassing stories! “desperate measures” I junk it was called. The best part was reading all the comments, I was in tears laughing!
Amy says:
I LOVE the one with paula deen, I was soooo hating! I even told my husband you met her, like I know you and you met her so I felt like I met her too. Weird? YES!

Tessa says:
My favorite post’s are when you do videos of your talking babies, those are great and always make me laugh. Then the blog you just did this morning, about what a goof you are, shows us all that just because you have a blog doesn’t mean you are un-approachable…
linds says:
definitely the post where you announced you were pregnant with Annie, “the spohrs are multiplying…”!!
everyone was so happy and excited. i loved that.
Procrastamom says:
My favourite post of yours is the one about what to say and not say to someone who is mourning a child. I have passed it on to a friend who lost her 16 year-old daughter two years ago and she really agreed with all you have to say.
Oh and I’m a Canadian gal, so I can’t win the bedding (*sob*).
jen says:
I MANY favorite post but the latest fav was the one about things your mom says. I may have had to look some of those terms up myself
Heather Lyman says:
My favorite is “Here comes the sun.” I’ve never been so happy for people I’ve never met before, and I’d never seen such a beautiful baby girl as your little Annie.
Heather says:
I love “A Rabbi, Doris Roberts, and Paula Deen walk onto a plane”. You have such luck with planes….except when drunk guys fall asleep on you.
Jeanne says:
I have two favorites: My little Maddie Moo and Here comes the sun.
I read your blog M-F it’s become part of my morning routine.
I’m a nurse and I always think of your family when dealing with small children or frightened parents. I always try to be understanding, compassionate, and I do my best to answer questions honestly.
You have made a difference in my medical career and I hope I am a better nurse for it.
~Jeanne

Julie says:
peanut butter and Rigby.
Laura says:
It’s so hard for me to pick a favorite post…I enjoy all of your writing. “My little Maddie Moo” is definately one of my favorites, and on the opposite emotion side, I enjoy the ones like when Maddie had a fake credit card, or the one when Annie was just a few weeks old, with GTL!
Thanks for the chance to win!
K says:
There are so many! But my most recent favorite was: http://thespohrsaremultiplying.com/2010/01/the-story-of-annies-birth-day/
Loved the way it ended.
Ashley says:
I loved reading the posts you wrote back when you were in the hospital beore having Madeline. For some reason, I remember reading about your hubby walking to the hospital from your home. It cracked me up.
BTW, my birthday is TUESDAY!
Kimberly says:
Your post on A Lesson in Bedside Manner is actually one of my favorites. Because I’m a childbirth educator and a lactation consultant and I so often (sadly) cross paths with amazing families going through amazingly difficult times during what they expected to be their happiest times. I know some truly fabulous doctors and it makes me sad when I come across those completely lacking in bedside manner.
Shannon says:
I love the club mix and I love to watch it with my three daughters….Ashley, Abigail and Annabelle. They just love to see it over and over and crack up every friday at the video! But I like this one especially cause it instantly cheers them up!
Gretchen says:
You have so many wonderful posts. I could spend a whole day re-reading all of them. Well honestly it would take more than a day but you get the picture. I would have to say a recent favorite post is Heather Spohr: Giant Dork. I love how you’re so honest and down to earth. I’m not a very outgoing person but after reading your post I now know that if our paths ever cross, I’ll be sure to go out of my way to introduce myself. You have some very wonderful posts. Thank you for being so honest.
Tamara says:
Gotta be the Peanut Butter Dog one – I cannot tell you how many people I have re-told that story to!

Stephanie M says:
How in the world to just pick one post?! how about this…a recent favorite that made me laugh out loud was “Conversations in a Car.” I’m not sure it qualifies as an overall favorite, but it came to mind.
Kristin says:
Haha, funny because you just mentioned it in the post above, but I love the Lee Corso post. I am a huge Gator fan and we always pray he doesn’t pick Florida, because we joke that he curses the team he picks. But, I also appreciate your honest, sentimental posts about your sweet Madeline and you have written some beautiful ones, including the one a few days ago.
Nan says:
I truly enjoy and look forward to all of your posts, but one of my favorites was the one when Annie was born. Your photography is beautiful (as always), love the picture of her yawning, and the one of your music note tattooed arm holding her.
Melody says:
Hi, I’m commenting on your blog for the first time today! Not for the prize (although it’d be nice! hahaha) but to tell you that my favorite post of yours is My Little Maddie Moo. I’m 22 and don’t have any children. I know the day will come when I have my own family, but I’ve always been nervous because I, being a girl know how they can be! My mother has wished upon me a girl with the same attitude as myself! hahahaha But, when I read that post, it made me want a daughter in the worst way. I can’t wait for the day that I have a little sidekick to love unconditionally and teach the ways of the world. You write beautifully and your love for Maddie and Annabel is felt in every word. Thank you so much for easing my fear of ever having a girl!
Megan says:

Alison says:
I think my favorite post of yours has to be The Nurse. As the daughter of a nurse I can honestly tell you how much it means to hear someone say Thank You.
I sobbed when I read that post, thinking of what you and Mike have gone through, and who has been there along the way to help you through. I believe everyone we meet is sent into our lives for a reason, and nurses are no different.
shenais says:
i liked your post, ‘you have to squint to tell us apart.’ while your more serious posts move me to tears, this post embodies your humor and strength in a more light-hearted way.

Great giveaway!
My favorite recent post is “Imagining.” I love your honesty.

I shuddered at the bedding prize. I worked all of two days at a Hampton Inn. The first day all I did was change sheets – an wrestling with the comforter and duvet – getting that comforter in the duvet was tiring!!!
I have a new-found respect for housekeepers of hotels and motels.
Hillary says:
I have read so many but the most recent, “Heather Spohr-Giant Dork” was hilarious! I also loved it because you gave so many links which were also funny… YOU BREAK TOILETS!! HAHA! I love it. I am also a major major dork!

“And Now A Moment from Annabel”
My 16 yr old daughter and I walked around the mall that day and we couldn’t help but keep saying “she smells like rainbows!” hahahaha! I think my daughter had the whole dialog memorized for quite a while
Christina says:
Just one?!?!?! Of course like so many have previously mentioned, “my little maddie moo” was so heart-breakingly equisite. I love the posts of maddie in her bathing suit fashion show and also the one of her playing the multiple musical instruments. I love the posts of you announcing your pregnancy with Annabel (I gasped and cried tears of joy!) and also “here comes the sun”. Annie’s music video was amazing (lol) as were your posts on the hagaan daas ice cream that you won last year and when rigby ate the peanut butter! Thank you for letting us into your life heather…we are the richer for it.
vc says:
each new post is a favorite, but a new favorite is the toilet in the restaurant story!
Alison Hunt says:
My Little Maddie Moo was my favorite too…but I really LOLed at today’s post with that pic of you in the scrunchie!! I totally thought I was such a hottie with a similar pic and facial expression…needless to say I didn’t win any modeling contests either!

I love the one about Paula Deen on the plane.
amy says:
My fave post? It’s hard to pick. I love “The Spohrs Are Multiplying” when you announced you were pregnant.
I think because in the months following and since Annabel arrived, I am always amazed at how present Maddie will always be in her life. That she’ll always know that she has a sister watching out for her.
Lindsay from Florida says:
I appreciate all your posts … they are alternately full of beauty, wisdom, wit, hilarity, honest and raw emotion … and ALWAYS full of such love for your girls.
But the one that instantly comes to mind as my favorite is “Here Comes the Sun.” I’d never felt what I felt then for someone I’ve never met. When I opened that post, when it quickly dawned on me what I was reading (that “Binky,” the baby we’d all been hoping and praying for together, the little sister of exquisite Maddie, was HERE … here and safe and in your arms and full of sunshine), I completely broke down into gasping (happy) tears.
You are the strongest mother, and that post is a breath-taking tribute to all that you endured to bring Annie to the world.
LeAnn F. says:
Hi Heather – I love reading your blog! It’s really hard to pick JUST ONE of my faves, but the one that I was giggling so much over was “Moms Say The Darndest Things”! It was hilarious!
Happy Birthday!
Jacqueline says:
My favorite among many would be when Rigby finally lays down once again on that doggy-rug-pillow. The fact that she hadnt laid on it since Maddie’s passing and one day she finally did signifies to me that she had been grieving for her little buddy and she was getting to that place where you think ‘everything is going to be ok’. It was like you said “comforting and gut wrenching’.
Carrie says:
My favorite blog post is “Bush League” – I laughed so hard and even made my husband come to read it! You’re hysterical!
Jolene says:
My Little Maddie Moo. heartbreakingly honest and beautiful.

Lynne says:
Seriously? Pick one? I have loved all of your entries, but today’s (Heather Spohr: Giant Dork) is a favorite because it made me laugh out loud–literally. I could relate in so many ways except the Cosmo model search, because I had zero self esteem at 12. Kudos to your 12 year old self for being so confident. I loved the picture!
Kim says:
Its so hard to pick! I always enjoy the posts about Annabel’s montly birthdays. I love the blocks, and I can’t believe she is growing up so fast!
Donna says:
My Little Maddie Moo. I remember going to Amy’s blog (www.amalah.com) to catch up on her entries. One of her recent posts was about Madeline. Not knowing what to expect I came to your blog and that was the first entry I ever read of yours. It was so painful, so touching and so heartfelt. Of course I cried (and tears are in my eyes now just thinking about that post).
Misty says:
I think if you don’t cry at My Little Maddie Moo, you have got to be a robot.
Ree says:
I have a lot of favorite posts, but tops are probably the ones where you write about how to talk to friends who have similar issues in their lives as you. It helps me be a better friend.

I have to pick one?
The Amazing Annabel is well watched/read around this house.
Midwest Mommy says:
I think the post I most remember, I don’t know if it is my favorite but it totally sticks out in my mind is when the Target employee asked you when you were due but you weren’t pregnant. Man, I have had that happen to me and I related on so many levels!
Ashley says:
I agree, it is hard to pick. I’ll go with “For My Madeline”, because you’re right – she does have thousands (if not millions) of friends.
Heather Smith says:
The nurse was my favorite blog post because it proved the human necessity for human touch and comfort. You desperately needed a familiar face and help and she was there at the exact point you needed her I cried, but it was so poignant and raw, and I just feel like it embodied the fact that humans are so relational.
Thanks.
Emma says:
Here comes the sun. So touching!

How to pick? I love reading your blog. All your posts are great! “It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s…” is one of my faves. I also laughed so hard at the one about all the crazy things your mom says. Although, after some googling, I now wish I was as blissfully unaware as your mom!
Julie says:
I am fairly new to your blog, but I love your posts and your witty sense of humor. I think the one I just read about you gyrating topless in the massage chair at the nail salon is pretty hilarious!

Colleen says:
Heather Spohr Giant Dork is NOW MY NEW FAV-complete with the hair scrunchie picture-PRICELESS!

Julie from Michigan says:
My favorite post is DEFINATELY Jersey Spohr, I show it to everyone when I am at their house LOL, I think they must think I am crazy getting so excited over a little girl that I have never even met, but you just can’t help but to love her (and mer mommy and daddy too)
Carli Wiese says:
An Annabel Spohr exclusive is my favorite. You both are so creative and silly that is lightens my mood when I see your videos. Being a social worker you see heavy stuff but I always enjoy your videos.
elizabeth belt says:
its a plane its a bird
Kristy says:
It’s a Bird! It’s a Plane! It’s…
This video really cracked me up! My favorite part is when the Amazing Annabel’s Amazing Stroller takes off by itself. The video is fun and silly, and Annabel is adorable in it.
Megan Beach says:
I just really enjoyed the Heather Spohr: Huge Dork one!! You are alwaysawesome to read, though!!

Also, I am a huge dork too, so that one spoke to me and made me laugh!!!
xoxo
Sharon says:
I just loved your conversations in a car post ….brought back many many memories! LOL!
Jolene says:
It’s very hard to choose just ONE of your posts. I look forward and enjoy reading ALL of them – the ones where you’re being a big dork :), the ones where you express your pain when you think of your beautiful Maddie because through your words, you manage to make me feel it too, the ones where you talk about just being a mom – I truly love them all. So I won’t choose just one.
Debbie in Memphis says:
I’m going with Lunch Time Stripper because everything is better with Boobies

While I love many of your posts, I have a strong fondness for one that actually came after this post- Heather Spohr: Giant Dork. I happen to be a big fan or dorks, and have always considered being a dork a great thing. So to hear that someone else does too, it’s awesome!
Lauren says:
Most definitely my *current* fave is the Amazing Annabel video post. Classic.

5. The Spohrs Are Multiplying… – I know I said I had no particular order.. but this one really and truly made my day!!
Love Love Love you and your fam! You are such an inspiration to me and I’m sure to many others! Thank you so much for sharing!!!

Andrea K. says:
I would love to win a bedding set or a night at a hotel! I love all your posts, but I have especially enjoyed the It’s a Bird! It’s a Plane! It’s… one lately. Thank you for being real and funny! Oh, and happy birthday!
Cameron says:
I loved it when you announced you were expecting Annie. I remember not realizing that I was holding my breath until I finished reading the post!
My other favorites are the videos of Maddie that you discovered and posted after you thought they were gone forever. They made me start taping moments in life that aren’t necessarily “video-worthy” with the knowledge that I’ll appreciate them someday.
Monkey's Mama says:
You have no idea how bad I need a) a vacation and b) fresh and clean bedding. My favorite post is the first one I ever read, where Maddie is teething and nothing is working. Those pictures are priceless.

I loved that Corso one you mentioned in your Dork post. It shows real determination for grudge-holding!
Mindy says:
I have several favorites…”Home” was one of the first posts I read of yours that tore my heart out. “Hand Prints” was another. I still search my house for little reminders of my kids when they go to bed.

Lisa says:
My favorite is Lunchtime Stripper, or any of the Annie videos…she’s so cuuuute!
Beth says:
My favorite is the Club Mix video! I laugh out loud and my 2 year old loves it too. That said, the angst, the scrunchie, is a new fav. I have always told my husband how I used to pout on purpose in middle school because I thought it was sexy… maybe that is why my first kiss was at 16 with a now openly gay man… oh I have said too much – does that win me a prize??
Aimee says:
I loved the club mix video (and all of the other creative ones you two have made of Annie!). However my REAL favorite was one you wrote a few months ago—I am not sure why it struck a chord with me, and I have sat here for an hour trying to find it with no luck. You talked about sitting on a park bench and wanting to yell out that you baby had died! I guess it just made me feel such compassion for you, while thinking about real pain and how you never know where people are or have been. That just because cute, sweet Annie is sitting on your lap, and you are getting a picture with Paula Dean, doesn’t still mean your pain is lifted, or that it is anything any of us who have never lost a child could ever comprehend.
Danielle says:
I can’t pick just one, I love each of themonthly updates of Annabel. And also the pics from when you took her on the plain and you sat next to that crazy guy
Laura says:
My fav is Annie’s birth story. I’m a sucker for birth stories, maybe it’s because I love to tell mine! The arrival of every child is so amazing!
Melissa says:
I read you every day..and I love every post. My favorite is 365 Days of Tears.
Kimberly says:

Shawna says:
My favorite post is THIS one, because I am totally going to win this!
giselle says:

http://thespohrsaremultiplying.com/2009/01/priceless/
Lindsay says:
I was really touched by the post about your aunt’s recent diagnosis, and the link to a previous post about your uncle who passed away from childhood cancer. Both posts made me cry and I thought about them for days afterward.
kim says:
love all of your stories…it’s hard to pick! any of your new annie stories, especially month by month posts.
Jaime says:
Wow! Awesome giveaway! It’s too difficult to choose one, but I particularly agreed with your lesson in bedside manner.
Suzie says:
Oh my gosh, this is soooo easy. My favorite post, hands down (well, until the next hilarious post) is moms say the darndest things. And all of the comment that were left to it provided me with a ton of cheap entertainment. I have been reading your blog since the beginning of mankind and I love it! Thanks Heather!! Have a spectacular birthday!! I hope I win!!!!!!!
Amy says:
I loved your post “At The Old Ball Game”. When you said that Annie’s first game happened to be the exact same day as Maddie’s first game two years earlier, it made me cry. The Lord works in such mysterious ways.
Jayme Q. says:
I liked The Nurse, it was just so honest and such a great reminder of the affect other people can have on you (anyone). And then of course, My Little Maddie Moo. *LOVE* your blog, Heather!
LibraryGirl62 says:
I loved Annie’s latest video adventure! And anything with a smiling picture of Maddie

Pam L. says:
Maddie Moo- So heart felt!
Leslie says:
I love all of your posts since Annie’s arrival– hope, love, happiness, health, beauty– she’s all of it personified.
But my favorite is “My LIttle Maddie Moo.” Your little pocket sidekick, your sun eyed girl…your tribute video that makes me laugh out loud and sob while my heart breaks. I cannot believe there won’t be new pictures and videos of her…how does the world just keep on spinning when something THAT precious, that special is gone? Mind boggling.
My LIttle Maddie Moo… that’s my favorite of your blog posts.
the Mom says:
I your post when you announced that you were pregnant with Miss Annabell. All that joy after all that pain. Wow.
Ashley says:
I know it’s the most recent but I’d have to say your “dork” post is my favorite. You made me feel normal, haha and glad to know I’m not the only one who winds up topless in awkward situations – like the waterslides at 13 with the boy of my dreams, grinning like an idiot.
Thanks for all the contests!
Martina says:
It is so hard to pick just one. So many things you have written have truly touched me. My favorite posts are the ones where you talk about how much you love your girls. And the Amazing Annabel videos, those are hilarious and my baby girl loves watching them with me!
Sandy C says:
“Imagining” is the first one of your blog posts that came to mind. So eloquent and heartbreaking.
My favorite changes all the time. I never know what emotions are gonna be called up when I read your updates. (The Spohr v. Corso post made me lol tonite.)
Carmen says:
I love them all, but I think I’d have to say My Little Maddie Moo.
sandy says:
Well, I love them all- the good and the sad. Maddies post made me smile and cry, and you my dear Heather are open and honest and put it all on the table- which I deeply love. I love the old posts and the new posts, but the most recent that sticks in my heart is Memorial. Thankyou.
Laura says:
I love “She’s got legs”. I love that you have a positive association with a body part you weren’t comfortable with. Even if you don’t like your legs, every time you look at them you’ll remember Maddie’s matching yours. And I love how adorable little Annabel’s are! It was such a bittersweet post, and like everything you write, heartfelt. Thank you for sharing your wonderful memories and new adventures with us all!
Sebrina says:
Ok I read your site every day. I love it. I am having a really hard time picking a favorite post. I love the recent videos of Annie. She is such a beautiful baby. Keep them coming!!!
Leslie says:
Without a doubt my fave is your birthday lunch at Target. I was laughing at the thought of my coworkers traveling to Target with me and subsequently jealous that I never thought of it. My 3 year old sons favorite is any with pictures of the “pretty baby” (Maddie) or the “talking baby” (Annie).
Andrea says:
I look forward to your posts every day so its hard to choose. I really liked “I’m Pretty Sure Mike Is Wrong” because it reminds me of my husband and myself.
Jess Perkins says:
I have to say, I have a hard time picking a favorite. I have read every single blog entry since Maddie was born, and felt heartache with most every entry since she passed. I think my favorite ones, are, oddly, the saddest ones, as I find inspiration not only for myself but for other parents who struggle and find your blog as solace in the loss of their child. I’m not sure what it’s called, but the one where you detail your physical marking in rememberance of Maddie, the first photo of your M music note tattoo… that was my favorite.
mar says:
Here Comes the Sun was definitely one of the most ….. well, most touching posts ever. Happy and sad.
I snorted a bit at today’s “Giant Dork” post though ….
Erin says:
Definitely “Here Comes the Sun.” Such hope and happiness!
Jill says:
I was absolutely thrilled to read your post about The Day Annie was Born. I don’t know you, have never commented (because I don’t think I have any right to comment on your life when I really have no idea what you are going through or how you are feeling), but I think of you and pray for you and wish only the best for you and your precious family.
Jenn J says:
My fave is Staples And Gas Pains And Scars OH MY as I can relate to the c-sec, gas pains and staples… Not quite as squeamish about the staples going in or coming out–but still the memory and the scar remain!
Katy belle says:
Well, all of your posts are winners, but I really loved the one where you talked about naming your daughters! So lovely.
Rebecca says:
I love any post with Annabel as the star in a video. And the post about your diaper usage was hysterical, as was when you got sick on your way home from the inlaws. LOLed!
Sunday is my hubby’s bday too so pick me pick me!!
Jessica Anderson says:
Here comes the sun!!! It made me cry tears of joy for you and your family!!!
Melissa says:

My little Maddie moo
the second is the club mix with Annabel! I love that one too!
Snookie Quinn says:
Geez, why don’t you ask for the moon? I could probably do that easier than pick my favorite post of yours. I’ve thought and thought about this and changed my mind a dozen times but I guess I would have to say…..:::drum roll:::::::
My Little Maddie Moo.
I don’ want the 2 nights stay in a Hampton Inn, I want the bedding as I now only have sheets on my bed and nothing else….I NEED bedding!
Thank you Heather for so many laughs.
Snookie
Jen L. says:
Bush League is my most recent favorite. In fact, I’ve been back to read it several times.

It is really difficult to choose, of the funny ones I love the peanut butter filled dog, and the recent one Moms say the darndest things. (I know I messed up that title!)
Have a happy birthday, and thank you for the giveaway.
Sara says:
My favorite is post is No Wigs Or Babies Were Harmed. Maddie looks like such a big girl in the double ponytails!
Megan says:
I would have to say my fav is the one with you and your husband talking in the middle of the night. So funny, so random. It sounded like me and my husband, only in reverse. You guys crack me up!
Jennifer Dawn says:
Here Comes the Sun
Short but sweet!
Lorena (lamaschida) says:
I don’t remember the title of the post but it is the one where you have photos of all the little beautiful parts that make up Maddie. Her lashes and tiny little feet. You made a photo collage to hang on your wall, I think. I just thought it was a love letter to your baby girl. I know how important those little details are and how easy it is to forget them. Having those photos is such a great idea.
Much luv to you!
-Lorena
Debbie says:
Uncertainty and Insurance
Such an awful problem for so many people. Appreciate you being brave enough to speak up about the problems with our health care system.
Melissa P. says:
I thought “Moms Say The Darndest Things” was hilarious! I always love a post that makes me laugh.
Hallie says:
In the Middle of the Night I thought was the best. I tend to talk in my sleep and say crazy stuff but I am always dreaming.
Lamb says:
It’s hard to choose just 1 post. Sexy Nerd and I were just laughing along with your post with sweet Maddie and all the teething trouble (the carrot was practically the size of her! And the liquor…oh my!) The one that sticks out most in my mind though is your video of Annie, with her telling the world that her mommy smells like rainbows
Emily says:
I loved today’s dork post.
Katy says:
I’ve loved so many of your posts, and many have made me cry. But I recently I remember laughing so hard over the post with the wigs, and the “It’s a Bird, It’s a Plane, It’s…” post. Hilarious!
Jessica V says:
I struggle to pick a favorite, but I really love the one you wrote earlier this week called “Imaginings.” So beautiful. I also LOVED “Heather Spohr: Giant Dork” cuz it sounds a lot like me!
erinlferris says:
My favorite post was Found. I know the happiness that comes of finding something wonderful you didn’t know or didn’t remember existed. Those pictures were a treasure.
Barbara says:
I’ve enjoyed reading your blog and find it hard to pick just one post I like the best…….So I’ve chosen one I like for each daughter. For Maddie, I love “My little maddie moo” (especially the video!). For Annie, “Teething Redux” (not because I enjoy her teething but because I laughed so hard when I saw you censored her picture!).
Katie K says:
Love “Rolling on through”, look at those legs!!!
Damaris says:
am I really comment number 803? that sounds like a lucky number right? I don’t have a favorite post. Gosh, what an unfair question. Your blog is my fave, does that count? No?! fine then, my recent favorite is the one where Annie learns to roll over. Mainly because she looks like a mini cow in her outfit.
Jami Blankenship says:
I LOOOOOVE the one called, “Kids Moms Say The Darndest Things”. Funniest thing ever! Reminds me of my mom so much! I even woke my husband up so I could read it to him.

Kelly says:
Miss. Breaks my heart.
Jenny Breuer says:
I started reading your blog randomly and as a mom have laughed and cried many times. However, I read you because of your children yet I think the Lee Corso entry was one of the LOL most hysterical entries ever. I am a HUGE college FB fan and I thought you were so funny I giggled and cried with laughter. I will never look at those signs again without thinking of you and your wonderful creativity.
Jenny
Pam Helle says:
I am new to your blog and can’t tell you how you and your family has touched me in so many ways. You truly are an inspiration to all of us, and I am truly honored that you have let us into your life. Kelly says:
I have been deeply moved by so many of your posts, but I have to admit, when I tried to think of one specific one, the post about your quick thinking with the diaper in the adidas store was the first that came to mind. But ones that left me in an impression were the ones that caused me to gasp. shocked by your event at Target with that ruuuuude sales lady (I just checked in for a kick me sign)… followed by the one with the other ruuuuuude MAC lady.
genius writing.
Sunny says:
I have to say the one where you announced Annie’s birth “http://thespohrsaremultiplying.com/2010/01/here-comes-the-sun/’ is my favorite. It might be a cop-out since technically George did most of the writing on that one, but it was just such a perfect way to announce her arrival. So simple, sweet, and it really showed what a beacon of light Annabel is in your lives. It made me tear up then, and it’s making me tear up again now. So that is my favorite post.
Scott says:
Definitely “A Rabbi, Doris Roberts, And Paula Deen Walk Onto A Plane…” I couldn’t stop cracking up at the thought of these random guys falling asleep on your shoulder. Your face is priceless there. And you can’t beat the celebrity-baby interactions!
Amanda says:
A favorite?? How do I choose? I like all the silly postings of Maddie in wigs or the Amazing Annabel. Makes me smile to Maddie at such a happy time and Amazing Annabel is so hilarious.

Maddie’s first music video
Club Mix
Green Eyed
Love you, love your blog. XO
Rene' says:
Awh…the first one that comes to my mind is the one about your Uncle who passed away…”he rests under a shady tree”. I am so moved by the way that you hold such a broad perspective on your pain. You are able to consider the different types of pain that other people feel…and you seem to have such empathy for people. That was a really moving post.
amy t. says:
I love the monthly photo updates of Annabel getting bigger! They’re precious pictures and it’s shocking to see how much bigger that girl gets every month
Happy birthday, Heather!

Manda says:
I have been reading a long time and love so many of your posts. I can’t pick a favorite!!
I did love the wig post, the discussion in the comments, and your response to that horrible troll in “Think Before You Speak.” It’s a discussion so many of us wish to never have, and I think you handled it beautifully. Props.
Mary says:
My favorite post is “Imagining” because it is so vivid. I’ve been reading your blog for quite some time but haven’t commented because I just don’t have words for how touched I am each day by your experiences. Now that I read today’s post, I may comment again!

Well, I’ve been reading for a while, but I have long term memory loss, so I’m going to go with your more recent post with the sweet video of Annie: http://thespohrsaremultiplying.com/2010/06/its-a-bird-its-a-plane-its/
I’m not usually a fan of videos on blog posts, but this was pretty cute! Happy birthday Heather!
Kim says:
Here Comes The Sun. I read this right before I went to bed that night, and I could hardly sleep I was so happy for you. I wanted to tell my husband the exciting news, but he would have just called me a blog stalker.
Liz says:
I don’t know the name of it, but it is the one where you talk about, and compare yourself to your grandmother and the loss of a child. I haven’t lost a child, but there are things in my life that happened when I was younger and couldn’t comprehend the big picture. Now that I am a mother of 3, I recall things from my childhood and let’s just say my vantage point has drastically changed.
Betsy says:
“Here comes the sun.” Such a fitting title, and such a hopeful post.

Helen K. says:
I’d have to say that my new favourite is your recent Imagining – had me holding onto my little ones most of the day.
As my spelling of ‘favourite’ would give away, I’m in Canada, but two nights in a hotel with clean covers would be a great starting point to our vacation in a few months!
Thanks for writing!
Jennifer Madden says:
Heather-
I absolutely love your blog-your best entry yet is Heather Spohr, Giant Dork. You crack me up!

I LOVE the post where you talk about your mom: “that’s what she said”
Reminds me of my mom.
Crazy_lady_me says:
I have to say, I am torn. I love how hilarious some of your posts are, but the raw emotion you are able to communicate is amazing as well. I will have to pick a comedy, though, because I could read those anytime, and the emotional, heart-wrenching ones require that I be in a strong place to be able to read them.
So my favorite (today) is Desperate Measures.
Natalie McLean says:
“Moms say the Darndest Things” would be one of my many favs.
Kathi says:

Jeannette says:
This latest Annabel adventure is wonderful! She may not think so when she’s 16 though…
Karen says:
I’m joining this conversation late so I can say that I love the latest Anabelle video. I usually have to watch them from work with little or no sound so I miss a lot of the cuteness! If I could go away, say to the Hampton Inn and Suites, I could watch them all with full sound!
MeLisa says:
I don’t have one particular favorite exactly, but I lovvvveee the ones where you post about the arguments/conversations you and your husband have (like the one about voices on the telephone being transported through the world) about random topics. Double love when he posts his own response to your post.
Katie says:
I have to say, my favorite post is when you announced Anabel’s birth. I know everyone says that, but I loved the lyrics you chose, and the way you set it up. Makes me cry right now just thinking about it!
There are so many others I love, but that’s the one that popped into my mind.
Hugs!
Katie
Kate says:
Anabelle’s music video…That made me laugh on a day that I felt like I couldn’t laugh at all. Sometimes you just need a rapping lil kid to perk you up.

I’m so glad you refreashed my memory in your new post of my fav… TEDDY BEAR! I too still sleep with my childhood teddy. Oh the love and tears in his fur! My husband hates it. I also just read your Lee Corso post for the first time and think its a riot. Having been at the fateful lightning strike game (GO HOKiES!) and participating in a few Game Days, I truely appreciate your craft.
Mama Fuss says:
As sad as it was, I love the post called My Little Maddie Moo from April ’09. I think it was one of the first posts I read on your blog and I remember crying my eyes out.
Jo says:
My recent favoritie was your flight experience and meeting Paula Deen.
Michele Wallace says:
My favorite post of yours is dated Jan 5th called “In Her Spot”. As I lost my daughter of 3 mo. 7 days at UCLA, I feel a close connection somewhat with you and TOTALLY relate to this particular post. (((hugs))) to you and hope your having fun at your conference!

I think my favorite is the entry in which you describe Rigby getting into your secret peanut butter stash – it’s just hilarious.
Mona says:
I love the posts where you dress Maddie up. There was one Christmas one that was so darling!
Kate says:
I loved your recent post “Him”. Your strength is amazing and I was in awe of how you handled yourself. I can’t imagine how tough that was for you. I loved how you put into words the rawness of the situation, and your honesty was refreshing. No one could have handled that situation with more dignity and grace.
Kate
Jenny says:
My Little Maddie Moo.
Or the one where you introduced Annabel.
Or the wigs one.
(I can’t pick just one…PLUS delurking!)
Lin says:
My daughter is just a little older than Annabel so I can see a lot of what Annie is doing in my daughter. I especially got a kick out of the Stand-up video. When I am trying to put my daughter in her high chair, for example, she keeps her legs straight making it difficult to get her in there.
Elise says:
Really, I have loved almost every single one of your posts, and picking a favorite is no easy task. But since I just watched it (three times in a row I loved it so much!), I’m going to go with Annie’s video “Juvenile Justice.” OMG that was adorable/funny!!
Laura says:
What’s in a Name? I love hearing the stories about baby names, and it is a great story!

I read your blog frequently and enjoy reading. I really liked your blog posts, Cream Puffs, because I thought it was neat that you had a tradition for Maddie. Plus, the pictures in that post are so cute…the next to the last picture, it looks like she is saying, “I conquered the cream puff!”
Susan says:
Hard to pick one. Your love for both of your girls shines through in everything you write which is what I love to come and read.
How about today’s since you are giving something away?
Tia says:
I love all your post, but I have to say Here Comes the Sun was one post I really wanted to see. Annie gives you hope for the future. She gives you a reason to get up each and every day. She is your sun. Well, she is after all Maddie’s sister so I wouldn’t expect anything less
Have a great birthday weekend Heather!!!
Margie says:
My favorite was “Here Comes the Sun” when Annabel was born. I was so happy for you and Mike, and so excited for you to start a new chapter in your lives. I know Maddie was smiling down on her family that day.

I thoroughly enjoyed the post of your plane ride with the creepy seat partner. Cracked me up! And I really loved the one when Annabel was born…and all the ones before, since, and in between! You are a great writer, and I have laughed with you (and, just today, AT you…that scrunchy WAS hot!), and cried with you. Thank you for that.

I LOVE YOU.

It’s soooooo hysterical! I can’t believe someone would think you were a grandmother – more – I can’t believe she had the gall to say it! The way you wrote that post was perfect.
Hope you have fun this weekend!

(Peanut Butter Filled Dog-March 24, 2010) I also liked the one with Amazing Annabel saving Rigby on June 11, 2010. The work you and Mike put into your mini-movies is wonderful and they are so creative.

In only recently years have women begun speaking openly about the birth experience and I think its an enlightening and important experience for women to understand. I think we’re all very lucky that you were willing to write it all out for a random group of strangers!
Danielle Wolfe says:
Here Comes the Sun. Hand Prints was a close second.
Trish says:
For My Madeline in April 2010. Made me bawl, but it was the most honest piece of writing I’ve ever read. It felt so personal, and yet I knew how many hundreds of parents in that same situation must be taking comfort from your words, knowing they weren’t alone.
jody says:
I recently just found your blog. However, a little while ago you posted a link an entry you wrote about testing ways to make teething better. As someone who is about to become a mother, I loved it.

I loved the post where you announced Annie’s birth. It was so touching and sweet.
My other favorite post is the one you arote earlier this month called “bottled up”. It’s so nice when people write in a non-judgemental way about the decision to breast feed or bottle feed. I loved how honest you were.
Finally, I also appreciated the post called “We’re Gonna Make a Change” from August 2009. The PTSD/NICU issue is an important one and I wouldn’t have noticed that NYtimes article without you.
Danielle W. says:
My Little Maddie Moo. I love your blog and find such enjoyment reading it
Sheridan Johnston says:
I have been reading your blog for a long time now. I am not sure how I came across it, I think from a link on another friend’s blog. I look forward to your posts daily and have often laughed until I nearly peed my pants and also cried with you till my tears dampened my shirt.
You certainly have a way with words. Not to mention when you and your hubby get together for a post…priceless.
I have wanted to write to you for a long time but somehow have never had the guts…have to admit the “dork” post gave me the push to finally comment.
I have to say that I love all of your posts, but the one entitled “Music is What Feelings Sound Like” truly hit dome with me. My life has done a 180 in the past 4 years and music is where I still feel like “me”. Music holds my memories and I connected when you said the same.
Thank-you for this amazing glimpse into your life!
Sheridan

I can hardly pick a favorite…I’ve truly enjoyed so many of your posts! And I have to apologize for just lurking and never having left a comment, yet. All too often, I’m in tears when I finish reading and I just don’t know what to say. I can’t fathom how you continue to exist, though now that you have your sweet Annie I know you’ve experienced joy again.
Anyway, recently, I had a good laugh while reading Stomach Riot. I promise I wasn’t laughing at you, though…

Okay, let me first just express how DISTRESSED I am that washing the duvet cover (“even the duvet cover”!) is not the norm…?!?! I travel a lot for work, and I have not wanted to know much about hotel washing policies for this very reason. OMG, I think I might throw up.
I love a lot of your posts. I don’t always comment because you get so many comments that it feels silly, but a lot of your posts move me (and I don’t mean in the bowel area).
I read you a few times before you lost Maddie, but I started reading you daily after. I was pregnant with my fourth baby and just could not FATHOM what you were going through. (Obviously.)
So, I guess I would say your posts remembering your sweet first daughter are my favorite. If I have to choose one, I will say “For My Madeline” from this past April.
And finally, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Heather!!!!
PsychMamma says:
How the frack can I choose a favorite post out of so, so much awesome?? If you’re going to MAKE me choose, I have to say that the one that stands out most in my mind is the beautiful tribute to Maddie: My Maddie Moo. Also loved your NICU FAQ, since we were NICU parents too.
I NEED new bedding, so I’m crossing all my fingers and toes on this one!
Thanks so much for the chance to enter!

Oh, how can I choose? I guess the Amazing Annabel! But really…how to choose from so much sweetness and joy…and fun?

The ‘Amazing Annabel’ video, with Rigby in the pot! Very well done!
Amber Mitchell says:
My favorite blog post was on July 20, 2009, “The Spohrs are Multipying.” I found it so touching, when you talked about finding out about your pregnancy so soon after Maddie died and how you had to find a way to reconcile your feelings of joy with your grief. I had been reading your blog occasionally, but after that post I was a regular reader. Thank you for sharing your experiences in motherhood with us!
Angela says:
Heather Spohr: Giant Dork is my favorite!
