Heather usually sings James songs at bedtime to try to lull him to sleep, and recently she started singing “What Are You Doing New Year’s Eve” in honor of the holidays. Instead of falling asleep, though, James thought the song was hilarious and laughed through the entire thing. It didn’t just happen once, either – every time she sings this song to him, he cracks up. I decided to shoot a video of her singing to him last night, and sure enough, our little goofball started giggling again.

Just wait until he hears “Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer.”

stunning voice Heather!
He must be so giggly because he just can’t believe his mommy would sing to him so beautifully!
Singing is one of my favorite memories with my Mom-but the catch is, my Mom can’t carry a tune! (quite ironic seeing as me and my brother are both singers, haha). But she nonetheless has ALWAYS song to us and with us. As much as it embarrassed me as I was growing up, I love it now. It makes me smile (and giggle quite like James!)
Bridget says:
I should NEVER have watched that. You gave me baby fever. Could he be any cuter? Seriously.
Gina F. says:
I was thinking the EXACT same thing! Besides marveling at Heather’s voice, I now have to go home and tell my husband we need to have another baby NOW, lol!
Lea says:
How did I not know that Heather could sing?! Beautiful!
Lisa F. says:
“I know what you’re doing, Mama, and it’s not going to work. I’m gonna laugh and laugh until you forget about this whole ‘going to bed’ thing!” :p
Hilary says:
Simply beautiful.
kakali says:
Heather,
James is awesome and you have the most amazing voice! You are pretty, super smart, very good writer, extremely talented in arts and crafts and have beautiful voice! I am sure you have more qualities that we don’t know yet! How many qualities one person can have? Did you take vocal music lesson? Did you have any private music teacher?
shelli says:
What a wonderful blessing James is, of course Annie also. Heather, you need to record some songs for us mom’s who can’t sing. Wow, you have some talent. I teach kindergarten and would so purchase some kids music!!!
Paula says:
Lovely voice Heather. I really enjoy your singing.
James is just adorable. He’s the happiest baby I’ve ever seen.

Two things – James is so cute!! Can’t get over that smile. And wow are you a great vocalist!! I’ve never heard that song before but holy crap is it a tough one with the interval jumps, and you have perfect pitch! No way could I come close to that. Very few people could, for that matter especially a cappella. You have a beautiful tone, too. More singing videos!! Heather Sings Jamesie the Standards!!! (That’s your album title. You’re welcome.)
christine says:
I see so much of Maddie in him. It’s breathtaking.
Courtney says:
So, so precious! Baby giggles are the absolute best.
Molly says:
Oh my goodness, your beautiful voice and James’s beautiful face and giggles brought tears to my eyes! Merry Christmas, Spohrs!
