Annie had a massive breakthrough a few days ago, and she walks a ton now. Of course, because she is ANNIE, she was slow to “perform” on camera (in fact, getting her to do anything on camera, be it video, still, etc, is getting harder and harder (which makes a weekly video SUPER challenging, but we GIVE and we GIVE)), but this gives a good idea of her adorable “just got off a horse” gait.
if you can’t see the video above, click here.
Seriously, there is nothing better than when she walks twenty steps and then gives you a hug. You really can’t get the idea unless you come over. Do you want to come over? We’ll have a BBQ!
InDueTime says:
LOL @ Rigby!
Aww. Nothin like those first steps. Love it!
Elle says:
Yay for walking!! I love that hug at the end, awww. I was recently looking at some videos of my little girl from last year when she just started walking and my hubby & I would say it looks like our daughter’s a drunk baby during those early walking days.
Penbleth says:
So precious.
Jenn says:
OMG – She’s so cute! I love how she put her head on Mike’s shoulder, snuggling close to him with a smile on her face. There really is Nothing like a toddlers new found gait when they’re starting to walk. It does look like she just got off a horse! ha ha
WAY TO GO ANNIE!!! Every day is going to become a real adventure as your confidence grows and your walking increases. Watch out Mama & Daddy….that baby girl is going to be runnin’ in no time at all!!!
Lynn from For Love or Funny says:
Look at her go!
Missy says:
You know that gate isn’t gonna hold her much longer. Go Annie!!
Julia says:
With that background music, I couldn’t help but think Annie might have had a little too much tequila. I’ve seen that “too much tequila” walk. ha.
Annie will be full speed running soon. Better get ready!
xoxo, Julia
Linda Campbell says:
Yes, I’d love to come over. Unfortunately, coming over means across the continent and into a different country. But the BBQ should great!!
Yay for Annie!!!
AmazingGreis says:
I’m totally coming over in 33 days!!! Can’t wait for Annie snuggles, you know, if she’ll let me!! If not, at least I’ll still have Katelyn and Ollie! Babies FTW!

Jennifer says:
Gah! I LOVE their first steps.
I’d be over there in a flash if I didn’t live in Manitoba.
cindy w says:
Oh, I so love the phase where they just start walking and they look like teeny-tiny drunks staggering around the house. That’s awesome.
(And you know I’d totally come over except for the whole 3,000 mile distance thing.)
Jen says:
Oh my gosh she’s so adorable! Go Annie!
You did good too, Rigby.
suzanne says:
Gosh, she is absolutely the cutest little thing! Love the way she crashes into the arms of her father with a big hug — what an affectionate and sweet girl you have.
Sarah says:
Go Annie!

Amy says:
Ahhh Major break through for sure!
Yayyy Annie!!
jen says:
Noticed in the background you have one of those baby-lounger things. Did it work? Did you find yourself using it often?
Megan@TrueDaughter says:
Adorable! Soon she won’t have her arms up anymore, and she will walk like a pro. Enjoy those hugs at the end while they last!
Anna says:
And what about her tongue? She is too cute!
monica says:
OMG! How cute is she????? Love the belly hangin out. And Rigby, she’s just as cute doing her little thing. Yes, I do wanna come over, I’ve never been to CA!
Halyn says:
OMG Toddler Belleh!!! So cute! I love the drunken baby walk. If I come to that bbq, I will be spending all my time trying to bite that belly, and I mean that in the least creepy stalker way possible.
Aww, Rigby. I have a little dog that stands like that. It’s super cute.
Tammy says:
She is sooooo cute! I bet you and Mike have never picked her up without kissing her sweet face, have you? I want to come to a bbq and see for myself how she’s getting around. And I want to kiss that sweet face!
Thanks also for the beautiful Maddy-Moo pictures that we see everytime we log on. I always click on them and look at more in Flickr. She tugs at my heart so much and I’ve never even met her in person.
Hugs to you all!
Meli says:

Jen says:
Heather –
I heard a very disturbing story today, and the mother is asking that their story be heard. I tried to figure out the best way to get this story out. I know you have so many readers, and I thought you might be able to get the word out. If you feel it’s inappropriate, feel free to delete my comment. Thanks. Here’s the family’s story: http://oureyesopened.blogspot.com

Yes, I read that story today, too. Heartbreaking. It’s crazy to me that a family from the US wants to adopt that little boy as their own, love him and care for him, yet the “law” in their country says “NO. He has Down Syndrome and therefore must live his life in an institution.” and denies his adoption. Better to let him suffer in an institution all his life, without parents? without a family? without be able to meet his full potentional? Russia…what are you thinking over there? Why?
amourningmom says:
Adorable Annie – congratulations! It is a whole new world

Kayla says:
Yay Annie, go Annie go!! Your e-auntie is super proud!!
amy says:
Too cute Thinking she is going to be busting down the doors of her gated community very soon! Be AFRAID!
Dawn @ What's Around the Next Bend? says:
I love how she flips up her tongue!!
Also, how she doesn’t seem to travel anywhere without at least 2 things in her hands… looks like she is practicing for HUGE shopping trips
Lisa says:
She’s multi-tasking!!! Walking with toys in her hands!!! I can’t even manage to do that most days.
BBQ??? We’ll be in your hood in May….so what shall we bring?
Beth says:
Adorable! My son’s favorite DVD is “The Annabel one”. He got very excited to see ANNABEL!!! in this clip, too. Let us know when volume 2 comes out!
