When it came time for the birthday cake serenade at their first birthday parties, Maddie and Annie were both a liiiiittle uncertain (and Annie full-blown cried). I was ready for James to react similarly, but of course James did things differently.

I think all the bigger kids ate more of the cake than James did!
Wendy says:
He wasn’t scared at all! Love it!

The song “Happy” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y6Sxv-sUYtM) by Pharrell Williams is a perfect match of Jamesie. He is just happy!
Jacquie says:
Cutie that boy is! My 3 daughters were all good with the “happy birthday song” My son on his 2nd birthday well we were quite the sight I am sure. It all started a couple of months before his own birthday, with sisters/cousins and when we sang he cried and cried?? So when his day came there we were his little coven I like to call it (made up of his sisters/girls cousins/aunt/great aunts) and I had warned them all of his possible reaction. So the cake comes out we start to sing a very soft like chant of happy birthday and he got this look on his face like he was about to lose it and we kept singing our crazy chant like rendition and all was good. I am sure neighbours looking in thought we were nuts!
