One of Annie’s favorite things to do when we visit Mike’s parents is to sit at their piano and make noise. On this last trip, she took things up a notch and made up her own song.
Annie clearly comes from the tradition of confessional songwriters like Joni Mitchell, because the song touches on her recent life experiences including watching bunnies run around her grandparents’ backyard, touching the steering wheel of a new toy, and, most tellingly, her fear of playground slides. Sing on, Annie.

She mastered ‘I’ (yay!) but I kind of miss hearing her refer to herself in the 3rd person.

Nellie says:
Seriously….BEYOND PRECIOUS!!!!!!
I come from a family of musicians (minus me of course) — my mother would absolutely eat her up and have Annabel play and sing for her every single darn day…soo cute and soo TALENTED!
Between you, Mike and Annable, ya’ll will be the traveling Willberries (sorry don’t know how to spell it but love to say it) and will be your groupies for sure!

Diane B. says:
I feel her tortured soul releasing all the angst in her song–especially the part about the slide.
Absolutely precious!
My 4 yr old loves playing on the piano and when we ask if she ever wants to take a lesson to really learn how to play, she looks at us with such disdain and says, “But I already KNOW how to play the piano.” You can just hear the the unspoken “duh!” We call her playing interpretive impressionist jazz stylings. Pretty accurate.
Lisa says:
Therapeuticmusical.
giselle says:

Courtney says:
Gee, I wonder where she might’ve gotten this musical talent from…hmmm….

omg I love this! My son remixes songs (ie, “Happy Birthday to You” remixed with “Tomorrow, I Love You”), and it makes me smile every.single.time. I only wish we had access to a piano, too!
Annalisa says:
I just about died of cuteness. Also, I understood almost every word she said. I must be hanging out with toddlers a little too much.
