Every year I share a video of the speech I gave at the March for Babies in 2009, which I gave just a few weeks after Maddie died. I never rewatch it because it’s way too emotional, and I just can’t let myself go back into that headspace, even for a second. Last year as the Los Angeles Ambassador Family, I was able to give another speech that, while still emotional, also had a message of hope and positivity that I hope touched other grieving families.

I hope I would have made Maddie proud.
Jana Duresky says:
You gave a wonderful speech – Maddie is definitely proud of you and all the work your family does for the March of Dimes!
Wonderful speech, we will never forget Maddie
You make so many proud and strong.
I love you all so much. Maddie would be so very, very proud of you.
I don’t know how you were able to give that speech without bawling. I cry every time I hear both of them. XO
