We’ve spent the last week in packing overdrive. I hate packing, but what I hate even more is throwing stuff away. I am a total hoarder. Not in a “there might be a cat under this pile of garbage” kind of way, but in a “I can’t throw this receipt/letter/scrap of paper away because what if I neeeeeeeeed it” kind of way. And even when I find a receipt for a pair of jeans I bought three years ago, I still hesitate to throw it away because what if the zipper breaks and I need to return them? I have issues, I know. Luckily for all of us, Mike is good at purging. So that’s his job.
The moving van is coming on Monday. This weekend is NOT going to be fun.
While Mike and I slave over boxes, Annie and Rigby have been hanging out at the new house (with supervision, of course). Rigby is TOTALLY freaked out by the move. She has no idea what’s going on and is a clingy, shaking basket case. Annie, on the other hand, is having NO problems with the new place. She loves nothing more than to run through the house squealing. Unfortunately, she’s also discovered the areas where the floor is slippery, and she’s misjudged a few turns. Annie won’t let a few tumbles keep her from exploring her new house.
Annie does have a favorite feature in the house – the mirrored closet doors. If only I’d known what a great time she’d have looking at her reflection, I’d have installed mirrored closet doors all over our apartment.

Too cute! Love this age! Our 20 month old loves doing the same thing.
katrina @ They All Call Me Mom says:
She’s so darn cute! Loved it.
Moving can be a big pain in the butt! I wish you luck with the move and hopefully very soon you will be unpacked and enjoying your new home. Such an exciting time!
Nikki says:
From that view, it looks as if Annie had a twin..wouldn’t that be fun?
Island Mom says:
My 17-month-old does the exact same thing! Right down to spotting the clip in her hair and pulling it out. Such a fun age!!
debi says:
This is the cutest of all the videos of sweet Annie. I can’t wipe the smile off my face. This reminds me of an old I Love Lucy show that she did with Harpo Marx. Annie is very much an entertainer.
Jenn says:
UGH!! Packing DOES SUCK!!! But, soon enough it will be over and you will be officially “HOME”!! Annie is so cute!! I LOVE how it almost shocked her she took bret out and then the litttle gem tried to put it back in!! She is just too cute and you can already tell her shares both her mommy & daddy’s funny witty, ability to laugh easily and NOT to mention the AMAZING sense of humour both Maddie & Annie shared from ya all. I can already tell your new home is going to be a place of solace, healing, laughter and FUN!!! Just what the Dr. order!!
Debra @ A Frugal Friend says:
I wish we had mirrors now……that would have been fun! Cute video
Nelly says:
Packing and purging is the worst! I totally feel your pain right now as we are moving on the 26th.
We are moving from our pokey upstairs flat, to a gorgeous proper grown up house! EEEEP!
Best of luck for the move. xxx

A little warning….
Years and years ago a family friend heard her daughter crying, then stop, then start again. She crept to their bedroom and looked through the crack between the door and the frame and observed her daughter. She was stood in front of the wardrobe mirror and crying, checking out the facial expression and trying again to get it just right.
To be fair she was a NIGHTMARE child who wrapped her father round her finger whilst effectively sticking 2 fingers up at her mum, and she played them one off against the other from around 12 months old.
I dont think you’ll have those problems with Annie but if her pleading face becomes just a little too good, you will know why!
Sue says:
Oh,,is that ever cute!!
Emily says:
Aww that’s so cute. I love at the end when she is clearly looking around to see whose leaving and who she is meant to say goodbye too.
Lori McBride says:
Future model or actress in the making! Love it!!! :0)
Jessica says:
I laughed so hard at her kissing herself…or rather licking!
Btw….I voted on that link for ya!
aubrey says:
That was too cute the “Oh Hi” and when she looked at the baby in the mirror like HEY! you have a barrette in your hand too! She is just way too cute. Now my 3yo is asking if we can watch the baby in the mirror. Its already at 3 times this morning and she just woke up! Packing/moving stinks! But it will all be over soon and you guys will be UNpacking and setting everything up just how you like it your new gorgeous home.
Tammy says:
Aww, there was NOTHING that was not adorable about that video. That is definitely one of my favorites! I think my favorite part though was when she stuck her tongue out, at herself, in the very beginning…lol. She’s going to have soooo much fun playing with her “twin”.
Nellie says:
OMG, she is just beyond precious and hysterically funny! This totally made my okay Friday, absolutley FABULOUS!
Lots of love, happiness, laughter, peace and joy on your new home and the new adventures that await you.
Angel says:
I laughed so hard when she was trying to put the bow back. Baaaaahahahahaha.
Too stinking cute!!
Katie says:
That video is amazingly cute! And good luck with packing – we are in the throws of packing as well and I agree about the pain!
Rachel R. says:
Annie… you are a dream of a girl. Love you sweetie.
Zoë says:
Too cute! When we moved into our first house, the nursery had mirrored closet doors that I thought were the tackiest thing ever, and couldn’t wait until we had the money to replace them. Fast forward to when our son was about 18 months old and he discovered the baby in the mirror that was opposite his crib. He entertained himself for hours when he woke up from naps. I swear that’s how I was able to get through my first year of graduate school although it’s pretty sad that his first best friend was his own reflection.
Happy packing!! Wait, is that even possible? Packing sucks!
tonya says:
Oh my, that was too cute! I cracked up at the sudden realization of the hair bow followed by the very quick removal of said bow! And then the attempt to put it back in. LOL! Until today, I was always so impressed that she seemed to keep her hair bows in. My girls always fought me on that. There’s no telling the money I’ve spent on bows that ended up lost.
yvette says:
SO Freaking adorable!!! Love how she is trying ro put the barrett back in her hair – Still laughing!!! We should all have so much fun when we look in the mirror!!!
Lisa says:
Her cuteness kills me a little more with each video, she’s so precious!
Nanette says:
Love it!
Our mirrored closets are Em’s fav part of the house, too. Sometimes she’ll run to look at herself mid-meltdown, probably just to make sure she’s got her most frustrated face down just right.
JenC says:
OMG, that was so funny, probably my fave Annie video. I loved how she was trying to put her barrette back in.
Jana says:
Love it! My favorite part is her pulling the beret out and thinking “I gotta get this hair out of my eyes.” Too cute!
Trisha says:
So stinkin cute! Loved how she tried to put her hair bow back in .
Good luck with the packing this weekend and the move on Monday. Very excited for you all!
Jackie M says:
If you could rent Annie out for entertainment, you would make so much money. I could watch her all day! So precious
Molly says:
I didn’t want this to end! I think I could watch Annie in the mirror all day…
Glenda says:
Have a great move! Once it’s all said and done you can sit back and enjoy the new home.
Annie, thanks for putting a smile on my face this Friday morning. How cute! She’s kissing herself silly, dancing and when she takes the lil clip off her hair, she’s serious…frowning…like what did I just do? and trying so hard to clip it back on her hair and moving the hair out of her eyes. lol…. OMG! so cute
Julie says:
Oh boy is she cute. Next she will probably discover that she can slide the closet doors by herself, and step inside for a big game of peek-a-boo: close the door…open the door! Close the door…open the door! That’s what our 17-month old does with the closet in his room.
statia says:
You’re going to walking around for the next year finding tongue marks all over the mirrors. Ten years from now? Lipstick. Godspeed.
Katie (Overflowing Brain) says:
So cute!
It’s funny, the mirrored closet doors are my cat’s least favorite part of our new apartment. That stupid awful cat in the mirror will NOT stop messing with him.
Courtney says:
Oh, that’s awesome. Great video! Sorry about the packing.
AngieM. says:
that just made my day!!!!
also- hope the move isn’t too tiring
Lisa says:
We moved to our house last Oct. It was HORRIFIC! Packing is NOT my thing so I hear ya! Throw it all out! My husband has made me learn that I am a slight hoarder as well. And now I am quite good at throwing stuff away. SO good in fact that I am tempted to dump my entire in box here at work in the “RECYCLE” bin. SHHHHH!!!!!!
Luckily for me, my friend came to rescue me and helped throw all my crap into boxes and she is as strong as an Ox and actually carried things that I wouldn’t even attemp. Yes I am lazy/not interested in lifting large, heavy objects. But I could’ve never done it w/o her. And my husband, parents, and 3 of his friends. It takes a village for more things than one!! BUT YOU must keep an eye on Annie during the move, so sneak away and tell Mike that you dont feel anyone can watch her as well as you. And maybe, just maybe, you can out of some of the MOVING HELL! Good luck- Lisa
Kelly @ JourneysAndDetours says:
Damn, that kid is cute! I think that’s my favorite Annie video so far– well, maybe the Go Go one is– can’t decide. Anyway, moving is a great opportunity to purge, so embrace it Heather! Easier said than done, I know, but there’s something very cleansing about going through all your stuff and starting over in a new place. All the important things will find their place.
Julie says:
Now that might be the cutest thing ever.
Elle says:
So very cute!
Kristin says:
Moving is a bitch in so many different ways. Hope this weekend isn’t quite as bad as you are anticipating.
Annie is unbelievably cute.
anne says:
I love your videos every week but this is the BEST! I was wondering at first if she understood that it was a mirror and that the girl in the mirror was her, but then I realized she was saying, “mirror”. Unless she thinks “mirror” is the little girl’s name??
Kim says:
How dare that little girl in the mirror take Annie’s barrette out!
Love this!
Megan says:
I think this goes in my top 5 favorite Annie videos! She’s so cute, especially when she pulls the clip out of her hair and then tries to put it back in and smooths her hair back! Better watch out, I think she’s going to turn 13 next week.
What’s she saying? “More”? (Don’t worry, my friends can’t understand me in videos either.)
Veronica says:
She is too cute! Reminds me of Flo in Finding Nemo…
http://youtu.be/AuoNt1o8mMU
Elizabeth says:
LOVE it! Her laugh makes me smile.
Trish says:
Hahaha….. my daughter keeps asking to watch this over and over, saying “look, Mommy, those girls are doing they same thing!” I’m trying to explain it’s one girl, looking in a mirror, but she’s just not getting it!
Julie says:
Oh my, that is awesome….and now I am moving our full length mirror downstairs tomorrow so I can witness this awesomeness in person with my 18 month old!!!
Vanessa says:
That’s pretty freakin’ cute. Thanks for sharing!
MissyK says:
That is too damn cute!! Love when she pulls the bow out & trys to put it back in. I could swear she mutters “damn” when it won’t go in. LOL
Marsha says:
She is sooo adorable and hysterical!!
Jen says:
How cute!!! My daughter is 3 and still just as entertained by mirrors lol. My parents have a HUGE one in their house that she loves. And she used to do the same thing when she was younger….if she had a bow/clip in her hair she would leave it be unless she saw it, and then out it came lol. Annie was so cute trying to put hers back in her hair
Auntie_M says:
Soooo cute! Love when she tries to fix her hair after pulling out the barrette. When my niece was her age, she loved playing in the mirror too, greeting herself with “Hi, Friend!”
Thurieyyah says:
Cute man – just love how she tries to put her hair pin back in.
