It’s hard to believe it has already been more than a week since James was born. Heather’s mother, Linda, took this video of the moment I walked into the waiting room to give the good news that James had arrived. Of course, I didn’t give the news… Annie did!
One cool thing about this video: since Heather and I didn’t settle on a name until a couple days before James was born, none of our family knew the name. So when Annie announces James’ name, it’s the first time anyone heard it.
It’s so wonderful to have a moment like this caught on tape. I already feel sentimental watching it just a week later! P.S. If you’re unsure why Annie and Michaela are dressed the same, read this.
What a great moment captured!!! Thanks for sharing it with us. I’m sitting here with a crazy smile on my face.

I cried like a baby watching this! I’ve been reading your blog daily for a few years now, I am so appy for you guys!!!! Enjoy your sweet boy.
The video is so priceless. So glad that Heather’s mom was able to capture it. Happy 1 week baby James! Hope that you and your mom are doing well.
That is AWESOME! Made me smile on this dreary, rainy East Coast day!

Such a great moment! I cried! Brought back the moment when my son was born just 5 months ago! So sweet. Sending lots of love and best wishes!
What an amazing memory to have forever captured! I love it!!!
I can’t wait to hear about how you guys picked James’ name. We just LOVE that name and would have picked it for one of our sons if we didn’t already have a godson with that name. We called him “Jamesie” when he was a tiny baby. It’s just such a beautiful, classic name that is perfect for a baby, little guy, and a grown up. You Spohrs are the best baby namers!!!
Congratulations to all!

That video made me tear up, it was so full of love and joy. So thrilled for you all!
So I read your blog every day but I never comment…however, I think it’s time I offered you my actual congratulations (instead of just silently in my head)! I’m a newlywed and we’ve been talking about starting a family and, honestly, you two are such inspiration as parents. (I mean that in as non-creepy a way as possible).
I’m so excited to continue reading about James and Annie’s adventures. Their age difference is exactly the same as my sister’s and mine and we had so much fun growing up together!
Such a great way to introduce James to the family with Annie announcing the big news! So sweet and such a great story to show James one day.
I read everyday, but usually skip the videos….but not this one. Sweetness. Congrats to you all.
Melt.my.heart. That is just the sweetest thing, Annie is so cute about it and I love the nurse scooting through!
That is too precious!
Your little guy was the same exact size as mine when he was born (6 months ago), and my boy didn’t arrive until 40 weeks, 5 days! Wow!
This video is great and I can’t wait for James to watch it and hear his big sister say with pride “My brother is here.”
Such a sweet moment!!!
So beautiful! It made me teary (and I’m so impressed with how Clear Annie’s speech is! She is growing up into such a lovely little girl)
How precious!!! Love how Annie announces this momentous event with such authority & pride-and joy!!! And impressed with her conveyance of the info–length, weight, and of course the all important NAME!!!!
So glad this was captured on video!!!
