Today is Annie’s last day of the swim lessons she’s been taking for the last six weeks, and I’m a little bummed. I’ve enjoyed sitting in the sun every morning watching Annie flap her little arms and legs. Mike has been able to make it to some of the lessons as well, and each time he’s told me that he wants to try jumping off the high dive. Yesterday there was an open swim at the pool, and Mike suggested we attend. He said it was because he wanted Annie to get as much pool time as possible before the summer ends, but I think we all know why he really wanted to go.
It’s really incredible to watch Annie after all these lessons. She’s gone from a baby in floaties to a confident swimmer unafraid to dive in and swim by herself!

That was a great dive! Seriously, well done Annie! I used to teach swim lessons and she is doing amazing! Most kids cant jump face first for awhile. look out, Olympics 2028!
Leah says:
She’s doing great! I’m jealous. I’d love my kids (2 & 4) to learn to swim but finding the time has been difficult. So much has to be crammed into each weekend.
Jessica says:
Wow! She is adorable and fearless. It is awesome that she knows how to swim at her age. Go Annie!!
Lisa F. says:
Way to go, Annie! You swim better than I do!

Fun for all of you!

Watch out Michael Phelps!
Nanette says:
I’m not above using this for peer pressure to get my almost-5-year-old to comply with her swim teacher’s requests. Rock star, Annie!
Trisha says:
Wow! I’m impressed. She has become quite the little fish in water in such a short amount of time. Go Annie!!
ldoo says:
She is really good! I’m not just saying that. That’s as good as my 5 year old, except even she doesn’t quite dive in like that. Go, Annie!
Jerilynn says:
Wow, she sure is confident! She puts her face right in! Very great skill to have and excellent exercise! I hope you had a great day celebrating Annie’s swimming milestone! I was surprised Mike didn’t cannonball off the “high” dive.
Jeanie says:
She’s like a little fish and very comfortable in the water. Good work, Annie! Uh, you, too, Mike.
Amanda says:
Swimming is such an important skill. What a cutie!
Tracey says:
awesome! She has come so far, way to go!
Paula says:
I think it’s so great when kids get introduced to water early and don’t fear it. She’s going to be a great little swimmer. (Mike – Next time take a couple lil’ jumps then dive. )
Kristin says:
How fun!! She’s a cute lil swimmer! That’s great that she’s comfortable in the water at a young age.
Norma says:
It is amazing how fearless she is! Me and swimming do not get along even though I love all things having to do with water…beaches, rivers, pools.
