Every time we go to the mall, Annie stops in front of the Build-A-Bear store and stares at the window display with her mouth agape. Normally I’m able to usher her away after a minute or two, but on our last trip she spotted a bear wearing a Cinderella dress. She broke away from us, sprinted into the store and literally tried to climb into the display, saying “I got to have dis bear, Mama!” After I explained to her that she couldn’t have that bear, I decided she was old enough to make one of her own.
Who knew building a bear would have so many highs and lows?
Gwen says:
“she’s so clean” that cracked me up. Annie is just too cute.
Glenda says:
She’s going to my house. Bye bye! So cute!!!
Sue says:
What an absolute doll baby she is,,,oh,,,my,,,gosh!!!!
cj says:
sooooooo cute!
Aubrey says:
She is so cute! Love her little voice. This reminds me of when I have taken my daughter. So much going on she doesn’t know where to start. She is afraid of the stuffing part too. They are so much fun to make though. My kids each have 3 or 4.
Shannon says:
Her beautiful brown crown! So cute!! Aaaand because I have 4 kids…we have spent many a dollar at Build A Bear….I wanted to tell you..if you signed up for the e mail club..they will send you coupons for $10 off a few times a year. Making the bears (which can be pricey) a good value!
mel says:
So cute. You just gave me the idea of letting Rory do this for her birthday next Wednesday. My oldest is 12 so I always forget about how much kids love this place.
Jane says:
Oh my gosh, her HAIR is aAMAZING! So so beautiful! And what a sweetie pie she is. (My girls are 13 and 8 – I so miss them being so tiny).
Lamb says:
She’s very considerate to say goodbye to the bear at the entrance
Melli says:
She’s adorable
Zoë says:
I have never had any desire to take my kids to Build A Bear, but I think they would love it. Well, maybe not my son, because he’s 8 and only likes Lego, but my 4 yo and 2 yo girls would definitely go for it. Maybe that can be their I-feel-so-bad-we-are-moving-and-taking-you-away-from-your-wonderful-daycare-and-the-only-home-you-have-ever-known gift.
I guess that means Build-A-Bear needs to hire Annie as their spokesperson because I am sold!
Abby says:
So funny- basically, MOM builds the bear! She is such a cutie!
Mommy Boots says:
I’m so glad that you posted this. I’ve been wondering if Nellie is old enough to take Build-A-Bear’ing. I ‘m thinking we might do this for her third birthday (in January), or maybe even this Christmas. Annie was just too cute in that video.
Lisa says:
We have a Belle bear for the same reason! Who is dressed and undressed ALL THE TIME. I need to get a wardrobe for the bear!!! (Love the dress-Target?)
Heather says:
Old Navy!
Debby Pucci says:
Love the video. Build A Bear is so much fun. I take my great-niece and nephew when I visit them in Florida. I secretly want one!
Rachel R. says:
Oh good lord, her cuteness never ends! That was adorable. Also? I want her outfit. (It wouldn’t look half as cute on me though.)
Dee says:
All together now:
Awwwwwwwwww!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Kat says:
Hilarious, I love it!
I don’t blame her, I find that bear stuffing machine/process pretty creepy and I’m 26!
Jeanie says:
So cute!
Jen says:
So cute! I think Annie picked out an awesome name for the bear.
And I love Annie’s outfit too! She seriously is a little fashionista.
Annalisa says:
This is the conversation I had with my husband after watching the video:
Me: “Wow. NOW I want to build one.”
Him: “No. [Daughter] is too little for that.”
Me: “No, I mean for ME.”
Him: “Yes, but honestly, we’re going to have to at least PRETEND this isn’t for you.”
Me: “Why?”
Him: “Because you’re a grown up and you don’t need any more bears”
[note: I am a teddy bear junkie, my daughter already inherited 2 of them, will probably get the rest of the lot when she’s old enough, and these are the bears I couldn’t bear to part with when I moved in with my husband <—see what I did there? ;)]
Me: "Fiiiine. She can have the bear. Mostly."
Him: "Besides, you'd need to go to a mall. You hate malls."
Me: "Yes, but… cute little cuddly teddy bear!"
Him: *shakes head sadly*
jess says:
I love her “oh hell no” look when it came time to step on the peddle!
Kathy says:
OH, my goodness, she is so stinkin’ cute! She didn’t even hesitate when naming her bear – Princess Aurora Bear! LOL. Has she tried to change the name yet? Have an awesome weekend.
LaurieSL says:
Annie is so adorable and so mature too!
