Mike was taking off and on video of Annie during the ultrasound where we discovered The Acrobat is a boy.
I think it will be pretty cool for Annie and her brother to watch that together someday!
(Mike stopped filming right before Annie said the Princess/Prince thing. I was really hoping that was on tape!)
Ray says:
Awww, congrats you guys! Yay, a boy! Can’t wait to find out his name. =o)
Mommy says:
Too cute for words!
Lissa says:
OMG so adorable! Sounds like the ultrasound tech got quite a kick out of Annie, too!
Jenn says:
AAwwee – Sooo Sweet!! It was so cool to see her little face, wide eyed looking at her little Prince. It was also cool to catch a glimps of baby boy on the big screen. I think my favourite part of the video was seeing the smile on Heather’s face and hearing the excitement in both Heather & Mike’s voice when the tech announced you were carrying your son. Such a precious, precious moment in time. Thank you for sharing such a special and intimate video with us. I think you’re right….it will be so cute for Annie and the Prince to watch this together. You have soo much to look forward too!!!! I AM OVER THE MOON EXCITED FOR YOU GUYS!!! Take Care…. xoxo
Connie says:
I can’t get enough of how cute she is! Her face, when finding out it was a Prince and not a Princess, is priceless. She is hard to compete with on a cuteness level. The prince will have his work cut out for him, coming after two gorgeous sisters. Congratulations!
Nia says:
That was so exciting!!! She’s going to be a great big sister

Her face and expression. She was left speechless. = priceless

I love Annie’s reactions to everything — identifying the baby’s head, asking if he’s stretching, and most of all when she finds out the baby is a boy. The princess and the prince indeed!
Nikki says:
You guys seriously are the best parents ever! So excited for the newest Spohr!

Kay says:
Congratulations on the pregnancy and finding out you’re having a boy! I love seeing Annie’s reaction- i had pretty much have the same reaction when I found out I had a brother (of course, I had to wait til he was actually born… It was excruciating ). I’m sure Annie and the acrobat will be really close, but if you’d like any unsolicited advice on how to help the process, when my mom was pregnant with my brother she wanted to make sure I didn’t feel displaced, so she used to tell me how the baby and I were going to be the absolute best of friends. Even after he was born, she would say things like ” here’s your best friend”, and she did the same even when he was little. We’re 7 years apart, but I’ve always remembered that and it actually worked in the long run- despite our vast differences, we’re really close. I don’t know if it’ll help, but it’s at least a somewhat time-tested approach.

Heather and Mike,
I have been “lurking” on your website for a few months, and have spent many moments shedding tears for your sweet Maddie…my 5 yr old daughter, Emerson, knows if she sees me crying on the computer to ask if she can “see a Maddie video.” She loves seeing and hearing about your girls! I am not one to comment on the blogs I read, but I just wanted to tell you how much respect I have for your family, and thank you for sharing your family with us. I am a super private person but have always have a deep desire to ‘blog’ and finally started last night. Thank you for the inspiration.

Happy ultrasounds are one of the best parts of pregnancy. How great to all share it together – and get to relive that moment forever. FYI I have a younger brother and have always been super close to him, and my daughter is inseparable best buddies with her first younger brother and dotes on her second. I’m a firm believer that opposite-gender siblings can have fabulously close relationships – though you know that from your own experience.
Can’t wait to hear what you name him. I beg of you, PLEASE title the post with the announcement: “The Baby Formerly Known as Prince.”
Marianne S. says:
Congratulations!
I love the video, it’s adorable!!!!
