Annabel loves her some animals. We read her books about animals all the time, but we never really knew what she was absorbing…and then we gave her a pop quiz.
if you can’t see the video above, click here.
I need to start teaching her some “exotic” animals…like llamas and dolphins and daddies.
Dee says:
I’m not sure there’s anything in the world more adorable than a toddler making animal sounds!
Becca Masters says:
Adorable!!

I remember this exact convo with my daughter…and then my father-in-law said, “Why are you teaching her to talk like an animal?” Knocked the wind out of my sail!!! STILL…SO ADORABLE!

I’ll tell ya….she kills me!! I swear I fall more in love with her every day!! I REALLY hope you can record her saying “Outside, yes”? I’m sure we would all MELT if we got to see that. She is just way too cute. I am not sure how you can stand it.
Have you read her the Llama Llama books? There are a bunch of them. They are fun. I am not sure what sound a llama makes though I think they just spit. I am pretty sure you don’t want her doing that. lol.

She is so stinkin’ cute!!!! We have a baby girl who is just about a month older than Annie, same dark hair. I don’t get to see her all day when I’m at work, so I come to your website to watch Annie videos and it makes me miss my Lily a little bit less. Thank you!

Great movie! Annie is SO adorable. I love it when Mike asked if that was “moo” and she cocks her head and said yay. She killed me with her cuteness!
Amy says:
Annie is so cute! This was my favorite trick to teach Maizey! We read Goodnight Gorilla A LOT, so when we asked her what a Gorilla said she made a snoring sound, because thats what the Gorilla does at the end of the book. It was so cute!
Broad says:
Oh so precious!!!!
My daughter started speaking CRAZY YOUNG. She said her first word at 7-1/2 months, and it rapidly snowballed from there – to the point where sometimes we’re like “Good grief, Kid! Who put the quarter in you!?!?!”
This video made me smile, because when she was very little, and still in her rear facing car seat, we would drive home and talk about the sounds the animals would make, much like you did there. We would go through the routine, horses, sheep, chickens, ducks, and DADDY! I would say “What sound does Daddy make?” And I taught her to say “Toot toot!” This got laughs for about a week, and then without me knowing, he taught her this:
“What sound does Mommy make?” She would giggle and reply “Nag nag!”
Touche!!!
Thanks for the post.

Oh Annie you’re learning so much!!
As a biologist, few things are better than seeing kids learn about animals
Rarrrr!

When I was in my teens I spent a summer with my aunt and little cousin (about Annie’s age, I think)… We’d ask her the animals and my ALL TIME FAVORITE? “What does a newt say?” and she’d stick her tongue in and out! too cute.
Rachel R. says:
Ohmygoodness… Y’all have the cutest kids. I want to snuggle her so bad!

Teach her that a squirrel says…” oh, nuts!”

My son (20 mos) also says his birdy “teet teet” sound softer than all the others. Interesting that Annie does it that way as well!
