Yesterday was my softball team’s last practice. I wanted to do something fun but still help them with their softball skills, and I thought water balloons fit the bill. After we practiced hard for an hour, I took the girls in the outfield and they did a water balloon toss to practice throwing and catching. I also pitched water balloons to them and had them try to hit them with their bats. Suddenly, even my girls who struggle to hit were slamming water balloons with bats! Then I let the girls practice their throwing and aim by trying to hit me with water balloons. Just like with the hitting, my players suddenly developed super-star arms. We finished up with a massive water balloon fight that was a total blast (don’t worry, we cleaned up all the balloon pieces). I hope the girls remember this season fondly – I know I will!

Our team did the water balloon toss and hit. All the girls loved it and it did help with skills, especially throwing.
