A while back I put out a call for tutorial requests. The one I got over and over asked for ideas on how to display wedding photos. I’ve put off addressing this one because…well, I fail mightily at displaying photos from my wedding!
I have this 18×24 leaning against the wall on our fireplace mantle:
And this one on the wall near the bedrooms:
And that. is. it. It’s really a shame because we have such amazing photos from our wedding. We also have the original digital copies of all our wedding photos, so printing them up for display isn’t a problem.
I love seeing other people’s wedding photos. Be it a wall display or wedding album, there’s something magical about viewing such a meaningful day.
One thing that never fails to surprise me is how few people actually have wedding albums. I know they can be so expensive when you go through a wedding photographer, but it’s worth putting one together on your own. As a kid, I spent HOURS pouring over my parents’ album. HP Photo Creations is a free program that is great for constructing beautiful photo albums – and you can print them at home!
This week, I would love it if you all would share your wedding displays. It could be your wall galleries, pictures on shelves, or examples of the wedding albums you’ve created. Upload your examples to the TSAM Photo Fun Flickr group so I can get inspiration to finally pull the trigger and create an amazing wedding display of my own! (If you don’t have a flickr account, just link to your photos in the comments.)
I can’t wait to see pictures of all of you on your special days!

Our photographer gave us a disk of all the photos he took that day, which is great for viewing on the computer but they are loaded as a movie or something so I can’t just print individual photos. I wonder if there are any tricks to separate them, or a website that lets me upload the whole thing…..I tried uploading it to my blog once but it didn’t work…I have no idea what program he used and such………Any ideas?
Jay says:
Some photographers do that because they want you to pay them to do prints but if the pictures are on the disc (and they are, cause you can see them) there is a way to get them off.
First try going to My Computer, right-click on the CD and select Open or Explore. You might be able to find the pictures just by clicking around in there.

Photographers don’t do that just because they want you to pay them for prints. It all depends what was included in the contract that was signed and agreed to. Some contracts include digital files, and some do not. If digital files were included, then there should be a way to separate the files that are being shown on Rebecca’s DVD. If that was not included in the contract, then yes, she will need to purchase the photos from her photographer.
If digital files were not purchased, then I doubt there is a way to get them off the DVD to print.
Karen says:
Not sure how they display on your computer in terms of size but I find the good old “Print Screen” button gets me around lots of gimmicks to stop me making easy use of images. It would be hugely time consuming and the quality might not be quite as good but I have to assume it’s at least an option.

Our day. We haven’t been able to get them up on the wall yet. We are moving in about a week. I like your 3 picture one a lot. Thanks for all your tutorials. So cool.

I am so glad you posted about this. I am about to redo our wedding collage wall and I am looking for new ideas. I think I want to incorporate pictures from wedding until now. Any thoughts?

I love this post! We got married 2 1/2 years ago and I have yet to share the photos with others or make an album! The only thing that I have done (which I really do like) is create a display wall in our bedroom. I added it to your flickr group and the link is below. We are having our first baby in December and I would really like to take care of the wedding photos before our photo collection grows and I have more photo projects on my to-do list!!

We will be married a year in August, and I only have a few photos displayed. My excuse is that I was finishing my MBA, but now that I am finished with it I no longer have an excuse. My goal is to create a photo book at shutterfly. One thing I did do was have my bouquet perserved and it is in a shadowbox with my program and invitation. It is on the wall leading to our stairs with a picture of my husband and I and another one of my stepdaughter.

We’ll be married in 3 years this September! My husband had our wedding photos printed on canvas while he made the wood frames that the canvas was stretched onto (we’re a very DIY couple!). He hung them on our bedroom wall and that was my present for our first anniversary – I was blown away and to this day, love waking up with those as our backdrop.
