I’ve been thinking about all my pals and readers that are snowed in all over the place, and I feel sorry for them. First, because it’s a beach day where I live (ha ha) and second because I cannot imagine having to entertain stir-crazy children. So I am going to show you one of my fun photo crafts that will hopefully help you pass at least an hour’s worth of time.

What can I say, I’m a giver.

For this you’re going to need some printed out photos, scissors, and tape or a glue stick.

These sort of things work best if you have a full-body shot of a person. I went through my photos (my photos are the only meticulously organized things in my house) and found the perfect photo of Mike:

If you don’t have a full body shot and you have a photo printer at home, spend a few minutes getting silly full-body action shots. Bonus – it helps tire out the kids!

Next, take your scissors and cut out the person in the photo:

Keep going until the person is completely cut out:

Next, you find some photos that have cool backgrounds. I picked pictures from when Mike, Annie, and I went to San Francisco, and I printed those up.

*non-crucial tip – if you have the ability and option, print the picture of the person on 4×6 photo paper, and the background on 5×7 photo paper. It makes the person “fit” better. You’ll see what I mean in a sec.*

Now grab those photo backgrounds and your tape or glue. Double-sided tape is easiest, but any tape will do. Hey, that rhymed!

Take the tape or glue and put it on the back of the cut-out person. Then, place them on your background picture wherever you decide is best:

I liked the way Mike’s hand stuck up over the top of the photo in that scene, but I thought that this photo looked cooler:

He’s a giant!!! Look at that tiny man at his feet!

Once you have your creations, display them proudly in your house. I taped mine to our computer, so Mike can always be reminded of the time he was a giant:

Have fun creating!
