I’ve always loved photography, but for my birthday in 2008 my husband gave me a DSLR. It changed my life, and every day I strive to get better at taking pictures. All my life I’ve been looking for a way to be creative, and my blog and photography have fulfilled me in ways I never expected. I don’t know where photography is going to lead me, but I intend on being fully prepared. In 2009, I took several classes to help me better understand my camera, composition, and the art of photography. I am currently enrolled in an advanced photography program through the University of California Los Angeles. It will take me forever to finish my certificate, but it’s challenging and I love it.
I definitely don’t think I’m anything special at this yet, but I aspire to be. From previous experience I’ve found that there is nothing like putting your intentions out in the open to help motivate you. Anyone want to join me on the ride?
Because I get lots of email asking, I shoot with a few cameras – my blackberry curve camera phone (now retired), my point and shoot Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T10 (which sadly bit the dust in March ’09 after I dropped it in a fountain), my Apple iPhone 3GS (retired), my DSLR Canon EOS Digital Rebel XSi (currently waiting to be refurbished), my Apple iPhone 4s (shattered/retired), my iPhone 5s and my Canon 7D.
Since I upgraded my camera body I am now in the process of saving up to get a new lens. One thing at a time! Below is my old equipment.
My old Canon Rebel.
I have five different lenses and an extension tube.
Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II
Canon EF 75-300mm f/4.0-5.6
Tamron SPAF 18-250 f/3.5-6.3 Di-II LD Aspherical Macro lens
Sigma 28-105 F2.8-4 DG
Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS
Canon EF 25II – Extension tube

Hey! Which lens is on your camera the most often? For the every day stuff? I switch back and forth between the 50mm/ 1.8 and 35/2.0 (both canon). I’m saving for an “every day walk around” type lens and would love it to be zoom. I’ve thought about the Sigma 28-105 F2.8-4 DG since it’s SO much less than canon. Thoughts???

The lens that is on my camera about 95% of the time is a Tamron 28-75. It’s perfect for my “walking around” needs! http://www.amazon.com/Tamron-28-75mm-Aspherical-Canon-Digital/dp/B0000A1G05/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1395864868&sr=8-1&keywords=tamron+28-75
