Monkey’s Preschool Lunchbox!!!

I work at Sydney Children’s Hospital as a Play Therapist (you guys call them Child Life Specialist’s in the USA) and I work in the Oncology and Haematology Unit. I’ve recently been given 6 iPad 2′s to use with the kids for distraction and recreation, and that is one of the most POPULAR games – the kids LOVE it, and the fact that it doesn’t end means I can keep kids occupied during long and difficult procedures they undergo.

You might already have them but ‘When I Grow Up’ and ‘Monkey Mathschool Sunshine’ are two apps made by the same guys and are both also fab!

They are so great! Annie will LOVE the dancing monkeys in ‘When I Grow Up’!

I also find that any apps by ‘Toca Boca’ are really popular with my patients – and they are great because they allow the child to learn through their own exploration. Toca Doctor, Toca Tea Party, Toca Hair Salon, Toca Paint My Wings, Toca Hair Salon, Toca Birthday and Toca Robot are some of the good ones off the top of my head!

My 14-month-old loves this game, too. We usually end up playing it when she sees me surfing on my iPad and comes over to commandeer it.

My 4 yr old LOVES this! Even the 7 yr old will play with it. Scary how good the little kids are with technology.
