Benefits of being sick:
1. Congestion has suddenly given me the ability to do an amazing impersonation of Nick Nolte.
2. I’m not hungry and thus (hopefully) losing weight.

Well maybe this will cheer you up! Your post about your crazy mom and the birthday party, helped a complete stranger not do the VERY same thing to her VERY own daughter. Yes my 12 y/o daugther was the ONLY (according to her) one in the 6th grade to NOT get invited to a certain pool party. I was THIS close to calling the parents of this non-inviting child and ask them WHY she wasn’t invited and demanding that she be invited! But then your blog entry entered my head and I put the phone down.
All I can say is that when it happens to your child you feel helpless and you want to make the world right for them! Thanks for saving my daughter’s reputation with your blog!!

Whew! Well, I am, glad to hear you didn’t make that call! I promise you, you did the right thing hanging back. Parents trying to solve their kids problems only exacerbates the issue, and I’m sure your daughter is totally awesome nonetheless…since I went through the same thing myself!

I do agree and have actually done pretty good at hanging back thus far…last night just pushed my last buttons with HOW upset she was! I guess emotions like that are a given with a 12 y/o girl though…..oh just you wait Mike! My husband could tell you some GREAT stories of living with all females…..
