Crib Gymnastics!

by Mike on August 17, 2008

in Newborn Identity

Maddie has suddenly turned into a gymnast in her crib, something which I attribute to the fact that Heather and I have made her watch the Olympics ad nauseum. Maddie clearly wants to be the next Shawn Johnson, because whenever I put her down lately she flops about her crib like she’s going about her own little flooor exercise. Unfortunately, at this point she is not exactly sticking her landings.

Check out the following positions I recently found her in:

Ouch. I don’t even want to know what score the Russian judge gave her for those.

She may not be an expert yet, but Maddie is nonetheless very proud of her gymastic skills:

Keep an eye out for Maddie in the 2024 Olympics!!!

Maddie, seeing that it’s Crib Gym, I’d have to give you the Gold, hands down. What an amazing performance from a Non-Walking Gymnast!

I say enroll her in classes NOW. Take your cues from China…they start em young and work em hard and look how they turn out. in 12 short years she could be an Olympian. Oh wait, she’ll be too young?

Take THAT cue from China as well…forge her birth certificate. Seriously, dude. You’re sitting on a gold mine.

Just wait until you start the diaper olympics~you know, the one where you try to diaper a very wiggly child who is throwing herself off your lap at warp speed? :)

If you send her over to China she’ll be ready by 2020 or 2016 at a stretch.

Cute! I’d give her high scores. My daughter does that too (minus the cute feet trick… crib tent stops that), but what I blame on us watching the olympics (probably unfairly as we haven’t seen rhymic gymnastics lol) is her getting ahold of this cat toy made of a wand and felt strip and twirling it around like the ribbon exersize.
