Every time I sit down to edit some pictures of Annabel, I am treated to a surprise. Not a “OH that shot turned out better than I thought!” surprise. No, these are of the “OMG I can’t believe he took a picture of me like that!” variety.
Mike has been picking up my camera when I’m sleeping. Not to take cute pictures of Annabel – to take embarrassing pictures of me sleeping.
As every parent knows, you just grab sleep when you can. I am always fighting it, because as every new parent also knows, when the baby is down, that’s when you actually get stuff DONE. But that means that my body kind of forces me to take little cat naps when I’m not expecting it.
Rigby is obviously very concerned.
Or sometimes I am really tired, but someone else is NOT.

I also have a habit of falling asleep when I’m watching TV. My glasses suffer.
Mike isn’t much of a napper (I don’t know how he does it) but today! Today I got my revenge!

I love to nap, but can ONLY nap when I am in bed, w earplugs and even then it takes over 30min-60min to fall asleep! So when I have a newborn, it is a nightmare. I can’t get a nap even started before the baby is awake again!

What I *love* in the last pic is not only the SIX Diet Coke cans *and* the bottle behind them, but the fact that he’s posed almost Ed-Bundy-ish with one hand near his pants waistline. I have *the* funniest picture EVAH taken of my husband recently, asleep in the recliner, with one hand holding the remote control, and the other hand tucked in his pants. I now use this as the picture that pops up on my phone when he calls, AND I displayed that sucker on Facebook for the entire world to see. Okay, I have to comment on the two funny things (among many)! I love that the lens of your glasses under your nose is actually fogged up, cracks me up, and that personal collection of coke cans rivals my own! Thanks for letting me know there are other normal people suffering from my guilty addiction! (and you have a much better excuse for yours) You have a beautiful family! May the future bring much joy!

OMG – I got a huge laugh out of these pics! My husband did the same to me when our daughter was a newborn. The one of you curled up on the floor next to Annie in her boppy was the cutest, but the glasses half off your face was just too funny! Enjoy the madness, and perhaps Mike needs some lipstick and blusher next time you catch him napping?
