I got my roots done yesterday. Incidentally, a good way to convince your husband that you need your hair fixed is to post a self-portrait on the internet with an arrow pointing to your gray roots. Everyone Mike came into contact with said, “why won’t you let your wife get her hair done!” which of course befuddled Mike, because he has no control over it, and finally he said, “get your hair dyed or whatever so people will stop bugging me!” Gladly.
I went back to my stylist and told her to fix up my roots. We were chatting away, and then I told her that my eyebrows don’t match my hair color and it was frustrating me when it came to makeup. She gave me some tips and then I finally said, “Can you just dye my eyebrows?”
My laziness, let me show it to you.
She paused. “Well, I could but I don’t know…your eyebrows are blond.”
“So they’ll take the dye then!”
“Yes…but they will really take they dye. They will be…red.”
“Perfect! Sign me up!”
An hour later when I looked in the mirror, I realized what she was talking about.
For reference, here are my eyebrows before I went to the salon:

Ok you have phenomenal hair!!!! It is just gorgeous. In those pictures you posted with Annie you kind of look like a teenage mom. You seriously look like 17. And WOW does little Annie look like Maddie in some of those pictures.

My mom dyes her eyebrows and it always chills out pretty quickly. Once it does, your natural color will be fine. I’m a natural redhead and my eyebrows are blonde – granted my hair is more red-red and yours is more brown with a little red… but I think the principal holds? The principal being that lots of people have blonde eyebrows, regardless of hair color?
Which I pencil the HELL out of… so jealous of people with dark, full eyebrows, I can’t blame you for trying the dye!

No worries….just shampoo them when you do your hair and they will fade. I do it all the time only when I do my eye brows I usually look like Groucho Marx!!! No kidding!!! I have brown hair!

Don’t fret – red fades the fastest of all color. In the mean time, just use an ash-blonde, or similar, brow powder to mute the red a bit.

I’m used to them by now, but I do use a darker copper eyebrow pencil on them. Maybe try that? That way they still match your hair, they’re just a bit darker.
They don’t look that bad at all! Your gorgeous hair and eyes are what stand out, so don’t worry! They will fade super fast anyway!
I did my brows once (tried to make them lighter) and while they looked pretty good, once I started getting eyebrow “roots”, I threw in the towel and decided my natural brow color was just fine!

They will fade, trust me. My nana has her eyebrows dyed (not sure why) black and she has stark white hair. Pretty funny when she gets them done, but after a couple of days, it starts to fade. At least now you know what not to do the next time you are at the stylist! Have a great week.
Wow you still look pretty awesome & so does Annie….but my solution to eyebrow color is just get some brown eyelash mascara, take the top off for about 3 days to dry it out some, then gently apply to your eyebrows! My brows are very light blond & it just gives a slightly darker soft brown look to blend with my highlighted hair. No hair color, no fuss solution! Good Luck !
I think the only solution is to shave them off and then draw them on with eyeliner and/or a washable marker until they grow back.

I’ve heard that head & shoulders shampoo is very good at removing dye from hair. Eyebrows are hair, just sayin’.

They’ll fade fast, like in days. Mine are very blonde too, in the summer they pretty much disappear off my face (and my hair is NOT blonde so go figure!) so I have to “pencil” mine in with a little brown eye shadow. It works great. I’ve tried the dyeing thing too and ended up looking like Groucho Marx. Not a good look…

My stylist puts some red in my brown hair, and says it’s always the first color to fade, so I agree with those above who said it should fade pretty quickly.
The good news is that Annie looks like she’s feeling better!

I actually did look like Groucho Marx in high school when I let a hairstylist dye my eyebrows for the first time. They were black. It was incredibly traumatic.
Maybe I can help. My eyebrows are blonde, too. I use Revlon Colorsilk in dark brown (super cheap) and dye my eyebrows once a month. I use an old mascara wand to apply the dye and then wash off after 20 minutes. It works perfectly for me.

I think you should put bandaids over each eyebrow and add a fake black eye or use a black eyebrow pencil so people know how badass you are and step out of your way. You can totally use this to your advantage until the color fades. I wonder if clarifying shampoo would work on your eyebrow like it does on bad color jobs which I’ve had plenty of.
You are rockin’ that hair though. See, you just have to look on the bright (red) side.

OMG! You goof! I’m sure it will wash out quickly. Try some rubbing alcohol on them once a day, scrub REALLY hard!
And then go find a good make up counter somewhere and have them show you have ti blend it with a pencil so they aren’t so OUT there. Good Luck!

I don’t know why the stylist didn’t just make them a little darker… browner maybe with a hint of red. That would have matched your hair better. She should not have done that to you.

I once heard a rule that you should never dye your eyebrows no matter what shade they are compared to your head hair. I don’t know why but it stuck with me. So whether my hair is red, brown, blond or green, my eyebrows never change. (I don’t really do green hair).

Yeah, I have done it too. And no, it doesnt look good. BUT like everyone has said, eyebrows fade FAST. Just keep scrubbin. And the brow pencil. just dust it over your eyebrows. Do NOT draw a line or press hard. Lightly brush the pencil over the brows.

Looks like your hair girl made a novice’s error!
You never, ever, ever dye your eyebrows to *match* your hair. Your eyebrows are always 3-4 shades *DARKER* than your hair. Always.
So when you dye your eyebrows, you always dye them 3-4 shades darker than the hair on your head!
No worries — you just need to have her re-do them.
The red will fade — that’s the one disadvantage of dying red; it fades fairly quickly due to the chemical composition. But it’s not likely to improve their appearance. They’ll just look more strawberry blonde. (That shade of red doesn’t fade to brown; it fades to a muddy strawberry blonde. Sorry. Years of doing hair has me certain about this!) And they’ll fade at the same rate as the hair on your head, so they’ll continue to look strange because they should be darker than your head hair!
So just get them re-done. Don’t listen to the other comments, recommending washing, rubbing alcohol, etc. It won’t make a difference. It’s UV that causes red to fade (and it’s virtually impossible to expose your eyebrows to UV without exposing your head hair! Not to mention, it’s unhealthy!) You can wash it until the cows come home — you’ll just have really dried-out albeit clean eyebrows.
Almost forgot to mention…
That 3-4 shades darker rule only applies to non-black hair colors.
If you’re hair is black or very, very dark brown, your eyebrows are apt to be close to the color of your head hair. There are also ethnicity-related exceptions to the 3-4 shade rule (Contrary to popular belief, we do learn quite a bit when you go to a *good* trade school!)
But none of those instances apply in your case, Heather.

I made the huge mistake of dying my hair black in high school/college. Several times. I have naturally dark blonde hair, so you can only imagine the sheer disaster-ness of my hair. I dyed my eyebrows to match…I looked like Wednesday Addams & Eddie Munster’s love child. Could be so much worse! 
I can’t really tell but you look good to me. It totally brightens up your eyes. And you do look super young. Maybe she could go more brown, like light brownish? And yeah brown eye brown pencil will tone them down.
