I Should Be Sleeping

in Heather

I have never felt so tired in my life. I’ve worked what feels like 87 days in a row. It’s an exciting time, but it’s also surprisingly stressful. The stakes are high and everyone expects a lot. So stress + 14 hour days x 87 days in a row of working = Zombie Heather.

In my rare recent spare time I have managed to do some fun things. I’ve been planning Maddie’s first birthday party. We took Maddie to Disneyland’s California Adventure for a fun Halloween event. I went to another college football game where I channeled my inner Pledge Master and “hazed” my friend’s younger brother. I’m over programmed. It’s all fun stuff but when it’s all jammed in it takes its toll.

You know what would be REALLY fun? SLEEP. Spending time with my family. Putting my face in my dog’s soft fur. Catching up on TV shows and blogs and my friends’ lives.

I know these busy times will pass soon, only to be replaced by other busy things. That’s why when I can steal a moment to cuddle with my sleepy, curly-haired baby, I’m going to enjoy it for as long as I can.

awwwwwww….. That pic could have been a WW post for today. I’ve totally fallen in love with baby cheeks. I just want to gobble them up whenever I see them now.

It’s tough to juggle, especially when everything seems equally important for all kinds of reasons… so good luck getting what YOU need while meeting the needs of everyone else, too! As they say, this too shall pass. And to go one step further… I hope that whatever replaces it is a little less stressful!

What a great picture. Sleeping with my babies used to be one of my favorite things to do. Now they are 4 & 2 and kick the crap out of me when I am trying to sleep but I did love it then they were little. Enjoy those precious moments.

I had my 10-year-old daughter sleep with me last night. All I kept thinking about was how much I loved sleeping with her and watching her sleep when she was so tiny. That picture? Yeah, that’s what I was remembering.

I totally get it. Sadly, I have no time for anything. And when I do have a few minutes after work, I dont know which baby to go to! You always feel like your short-changing one of them. I have afro- babies.

Did you go to the Disney Trick or Treat thing? We were going to take The Babito but never ordered tickets.

Hopefully your busy time at work won’t end for another couple of weeks. I know it could end tonight. Let’s hope not.

Get some sleep. And some cuddles and milk breath. Pretty soon, they’re farting and laughing at it.

Oh, did I say “them?” I meant “me.”

Hang in there. Being so busy sucks, I know.

But cuddle time with a baby on your chest trumps everything. And being busy can sometimes help you appreciate those moments even more.

LOVE the photo! She is just so cute.
Whenever I’m feeling overwhelmed with, well, everything, I pick a kid (only 3 of the 4 like to hug, so I choose one of them) and try to get a good long snuggle. Doesn’t always work, but I really do love it.

Can I rent Maddie for a nap? Mine are all too big and bony now. Not soft and squishy and warm. I envy you…

I’m crossing my fingers that the fates bring you to Tampa, but now I’m sorta crossing my toes that it ends soon so you can get more of that quality snuggle time. That picture is dreamy.

That is a gorgeous photo. Maddie looks so sweet. Makes my heart ache for another but then my head goes “WTF ARE YOU THINKING WOMAN! YOU’RE PUSHING FORTY!” Heh. So I’ll satisfy myself with looking at her gorgeous pictures.
