Star Wars Party Favor Template

For Leah’s baby shower, I had to figure out a party favor to give to 40 people. I wanted something nice that guests could use, but since I needed 40 items I didn’t want to break the bank. I also wanted to tie in the “Classy Star Wars” theme that I’d jokingly placed on the party. I finally came up with this lip balm light saber idea, and put together a template using clip art I purchased from etsy. What I like the most about it is that I’ll be able to reuse it for the inevitable Star Wars birthday party I throw for one of my kids – but I can use candy, or a glow stick, or bubble wand instead of chapstick. The possibilities are endless!

After you print the template, cut it in half, then use an x-acto knife to cut a small hole in the paper, above the light saber handle.

My hole is the same shape as the lip balm, but smaller – the idea is to cut just enough paper so the lip balm (or whatever item you use) sticks through the paper enough so you can secure it from behind.

Put tape on the back of the paper, covering the holes you cut.

Press the item onto the tape until it’s secured to the paper.

See how the lip balm fits through the hole just enough to stick to the tape?

The lip balms were very well-received, and everyone was excited to get a chapstick. I know I’m constantly losing them (or, more accurately, they are being stolen by my children).

They were my final “Classy Star Wars” touch on Leah’s shower!

If you make the party favors, I’d love to know what you use as the light sabers!

Let me know if you have any questions. Have fun!
