You inspired me to submit my daughter’s story to our local March of Dimes chapter to be the Ambassador Mom for 2010 locally. I was chosen and I will speak at the walk in 2010. It was after watching you on YouTube that I was like, she has been through so much and is standing there giving her story. I’m terrified of public speaking and I get very choked up when it comes to talking about what we have been through with my daughter but I feel I owe it to my child and all the other preemies and families to raise awareness. My daughter has the happy ending but so many don’t…people need to hear the stories and people that have been through it need to help. Thank you for everything that you and Mike have done. You are both amazing people:)

Dear Mike and Heather-

On Saturday I was honored to be the keynote speaker at the Seattle March of Dimes Annual Fundraising Auction. I spoke during the Fund A Need portion of the auction about our story of a 31 weeker, 6 weeks in the NICU and the emotional rollercoaster entwined throughout the experience.

Your story and Maddie gave me an even stronger purpose to stand in that ballroom to tell people why they need to raise their bid card and donate money to the MOD.

I just wanted you to know how your story affected a mom in Seattle. Thank you for your advocacy and for being Maddie’s parents.

Thanks Missy….so nice of you! I forgot to tell Heather, I bet she raised a lot more than $100,000 b/c they probably didn’t take into account the Canadian tolls. I also had a “Team Maddie” and we raised just over $1000,00 to help our March of Dimes. I think both Heather and Mike are amazing people. I am lucky I get to know about their lives!

Wow, talk about a tear-jerker. I am so glad that Maddie could inspire something so wonderful. I wish she could still be here for you. You are incredible for taking these horrible circumstances and turning them into a miracle for others.

What an amazing award to recieve. You inspire me to do things that I never would have done before. Thank you to you, Mike, and Maddie.

I hope you enjoyed your trip here to New England. It was a bit chilly. If you come again my Mike can take your Mike to a Pats game or Red
soxs game (depending on the season) and we’ll do some girl shopping. It would be nice to meet you and your family.
