Heather has been in transit today – after much hand wringing and crying by Heather I encouraged her to fulfill her speaking commitment at Mom 2.0 in New Orleans – but I wanted to give an update on Jackie! Her surgery on Wednesday went as doctors hoped, and she is now in recovery. Thanks to everyone for sending Jackie! good vibes and well wishes, and I’m sure Heather will update during the day with a bit more information.

Hi everyone, Heather here now. It’s been a rough recovery for Jackie this time, and she is in ICU but stable. Please continue to keep her in your thoughts, it means so much to all of us.
*********
Jackie! has not only been discharged from the hospital, but she is home – as in, back in San Francisco! She will be able to recover much better there, although she’ll be in Los Angeles for numerous follow-up appointments.

Thinking of everyone!
What a scary and trying time, Jackie is lucky to have a friend who cares so much (and Heather is lucky to have such a supportive husband)

The conference is at the Ritz. I will be downtown tomorrow (I got tickets to wheel of fortune which is also in town) and it sounds like there will be a ton of “mommy bloggers” unleashed on NOLA this weekend. Should be fun.

Jacke!, if you get around to reading these comments, I am totally sending you my good vibes/well wishes. If Heather’s stories about you are true, you are basically the sh*t. You turned a green minivan into a party with wheels, and that’s not an easy thing to do. You can get kick this tumor’s a**. (Sorry for all the swearing. ) Thinking of you and hoping that your recovery gets easier.
Amy says:
Heather, I pray that Jackie! gets the chance she so rightly deserves. Cancer sucks but it sucks more when it affects young people.
My mom died April 3 of cancer. It was her second bout with a second kind of cancer. She beat the first one but lost on this one. There were so many times I repeated that she just couldn’t catch a break. It was awful. And as sad as it was to say goodbye, the fact that she was no longer in pain was the glue that kept me together.
I pray that Jackie! is spared anymore heartache and that this new trial works.
Many hugs,
Amy
sarah says:
