Three Mothers

I had a really fantastic Mother’s Day! I woke up to a smiling Annabel next to my bed, saying, “Happy Mother’s Day!” She and James gave me cards and balloons, and Annabel gave me gifts she’d made for me at school, including this amazing portrait she’d drawn of me:

“I love my mom because she is kind, funny, and irresistible!”

After a relaxing morning, my family came over to celebrate. Mike had gone all-out planning and prepping a delicious brunch for everyone. He made a yummy french toast casserole, and set up a fancy omelette bar. We got to pick the ingredients we wanted, then he made everyone their own omelette! He fancy.

But what I’d really looked forward to was a lot of togetherness. I wanted to spend time with my kids and Mike and the rest of the family, and it was perfect.

It was Leah’s first Mother’s Day with her delicious little baby nugget:

But I really loved snuggling with my crazy kids:

This day is always hard for me, but oh how these two ease the sting. I love them so much.

It was also a great day to honor my mom.

Just like my Gramma before her, she’s now the glue that holds us all together. She’d do anything for us, and us for her. We are so lucky.
