Yesterday I surprised a certain husband of mine with a party for his 40th birthday. His birthday isn’t until December, so he wasn’t expecting anything so soon! It was a lot of fun celebrating Mike while he’s still in his thirties!

The Good Dinosaur
Mike and Annabel saw a preview of The Good Dinosaur with my brother yesterday. Mike wrote up a little review:
The plot follows Arlo, a young and awkward dinosaur who gets separated from his family and must somehow find his way home. The movie started a little slowly (making me briefly wonder if this was going to be the rare “just okay” Pixar movie), but it soon took off and in the end turned out to be one of their best. It’s a surprisingly emotionally affecting movie (Annabel whispered to me afterward, “Daddy, I almost cried.”) and I think this one will make you cry even more than Inside Out. It’s also very exciting, but a little intense for little kids. Annabel was a little unsettled by a flood scene, and there were also some no-holds-barred dinosaur fights. But all in all, this is a beautiful movie!

Goodness but they have some fun ideas. My first thought, before I even looked at their website, was coasters. I have a set of glass coasters where you insert a photo and I love them, but they’re all of my oldest girl (now 11!) as a baby and I haven’t switched them up to include my youngest (now 8!). Thought it might be time to update. The pillow is adorable, but then I saw the stick frames with the magnets. I love this idea. This would be a great way to display all the artwork in our house.
