For those of you who read the blog on a mobile device have likely noticed, we changed up the look of the blog (on mobile only) to try to make the blog quicker to load and read. It should have been a simple thing, but of course, nothing is evvvvver simple! For some reason, the photo of the day isn’t viewable…I don’t know why, technology is a mystery. My awesome tech wizard is currently working on a fix so hopefully everything will be working properly this week! Thanks to all of you for your patience (and for letting me know about the glitch in the first place)! Oh, and if you preferred the old look, you can always scroll to the bottom and click on “view desktop” to go back to the regular site.
The Toddler Survival Guide
YES! I am talking about this BEFORE I list my links for the week because The Toddler Survival Guide (aka the book that Mike and I wrote!) comes out on TUESDAY! AAAH! Mike is going to work from home that day, and we’re going to go to a book store in the morning and find a copy of the book, and then Mike is gonna cry and I’ll take pictures and laugh because I’m just so sweet like that. But really, this is a dream come true for Mike. He’s always wanted to be a published author, and I am so happy that we were able to do this together. We are so thankful to ALL of you for your support, and if you guys wanted to post pictures of the book on Twitter or Facebook and tag me, I would love to show Mike and the kids that people are seeing and buying it!
And, it’s not too late to sign up for a book plate that’s autographed by Mike and me, with a unique design by Annie! Just fill out this form, and we’ll send one off in the next few weeks. And if you haven’t ordered a copy yet, you still can! You can pre-order it at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Books-a-Million, Indiebound, Powells, QuartoKnows, and in Canada at Indigo-Chapters.
We love you guys!

SO excited for y’all!! I’m planning on buying a copy for my friend when her little lady turns 1.
Being published really is a dream come true. A poem I wrote got published in a book last year and I cried when I got it in the mail. I’d been published in a magazine before, but a book is totally different! Here’s to someday having my own book out in the world.
Love the bookshelf! Also, while reading the cheesecake list, I saw the ad for cookie butter oreos AND cookie butter cake at olive garden and got all kinds of happy.
Heather says:
Mike and I have each had short stories published before (although, mine was in an e-book and his was a magazine), so this is going to be really cool for us! I have my fingers crossed for you!!
And oh god, cookie butter cake? That’s going to be a problem for me!
Lindsay says:
Along with the mobile device issue, is anyone else reporting that they can no longer view your archives on a computer?
Heather says:
No! You’re on a desktop/laptop and the archives aren’t loading for you??
Lindsay says:
If I click “Archives,” it gives me the This is…embarrassing. It looks like you found a link that is no longer on the site, or has moved to places unknown.”
And then just lists the recent posts.
=(
Heather says:
Hmm, that’s so weird! I am not having a problem when I click on any of the archive links. I will send this to my smart tech guy, though, and see what he says. Thanks for letting me know, and sorry about that!!
Karen says:
Getting the same thing here, just to verify.
