Annabel likes taking pictures with the camera we gave her a few Christmases ago, but her interest in photography really took off when she discovered the camera app on our iPad. I think she likes how much easier it is to take pictures with the big screen. I knew she was taking pictures with it, although I was never really sure how she figured out the camera app…kids these days. Today the iPad’s memory was full so I went through it to delete some extra stuff and discovered all the photos Annie has taken. It’s so interesting to see things the way she does (and funny, too).
There are a lot of pictures of her brother:
And pictures of her toys:
But I’m really liking her detail and perspective shots:
I like that she’s spending her screen time taking pictures. It’s creative and something I would have LOVED when I was her age.
I just need to talk to her about the selfies…
Four-year-olds do not need to be taking selfies. I’m old-fashioned like that.
Sue says:
Oh my gosh,,,I love the one of her and James, also the one of his foot peeking out from underneath the blanket, and the last one of her! These are terrific!!!
Amber says:
How do you feel about the fact that your 4 and 1 year old took a selfie together?
Heather says:
Conflicted! LOL
amourningmom says:
Annie is an awesome photographer (just like her mom)! Our twins have vtech cameras and they are always filling up the memory. It was a very big day in our house when they learned how to delete them by themselves
Debbie A-H says:
But I love that last selfie–that expression! Priceless!
Rachel says:
These are awesome!
Karen says:
It isn’t a selfie to her….it is like a perpetual mirror. lol.
I would have taken a ton of photos and selfies at 4, has the technology been around in the ice age! lol.
Missy K says:
These are great! Love the one of her and James. Definitely a keeper.
Shea says:
Bahaha, the last one is hilarious! “But first, let me take a selfie.” I really love the one of her and James together, though. Very sweet.
Vicky says:
Okay I love the selfie with her and James
Amanda says:
The selfies are amazing! Good for her! I love her confidence!
Nicole says:
She is better than I am already!!
miriam says:
Love it! She is hysterical. The pictures of toys is a popular one, I have found some on my iPhone. I love the selfie of her and James, at the risk of sounding cliche, it’s too precious.
Sarah M. says:
Ugh, the selfies. My daughter is obsessed with them and now poses like a teenager. Caught her throwing peace signs and the ASU pitchfork. No idea where she learned them.
Lisa says:
I know everyone has already said it, but the selfie of Annie and James is the sweetest thing ever. Big sis just loves her little bro. This is making me want to let my kids have at the iPad!!
tami says:
What great pictures.. I too Love the one of James foot and the one of James Face. You can tell she loves her Bother!!
Ashley says:
This is too funny!
Michelle H says:
Hilarious! My daughter does this too – with 15 pictures of the same thing!!! Totally clogs up the memory. I love that last picture! I look at selfies as no different than kids making faces in the mirror. They can just capture these faces.
Jeanie says:
Good job, Annie!
Megan says:
Wow, I love the one of Rigby! She definitely has her mom’s photography eye. Isn’t it amazing what kids can do with technology? (I sound like I’m 90.) My dad took a lot of pictures when I was a kid, but film wasn’t free, and I saw the camera as this super complicated adult thing that I was too young to use.
Amanda says:
You should print some of these out and frame them for her. I bet she’d love to have her pictures hanging on the wall in her bedroom.
Wendy says:
Great photos. I love the little foot one best
Eric says:
Oy, kids and the selfies. I’m currently on a job-related long distance separation from my wife and 8-yo daughter (3.5 months down, only a few weeks to go!!). Video-chatting tools like FaceTime have been great for keeping in touch. But my daughter is often much more interested in seeing her own expressions and making goofy faces than she is in interacting with me. It can be frustrating.
And yeah, she’s “throwing peace signs” and posing like a teenager when she gets her picture taken, too.
Leslie says:
She’s awesome!
Pattie says:
She’s got a great eye already. I admit, though, her selfies cracked me up.
T says:
That picture of the Frozen dolls is a legitimately beautifully composed photograph. I hope photography is something she sticks with!
Jackie says:
I thought the same and was going to post that! It’s spectacular!!
